An important question - Glory

A/N: Beautiful banner above was made by the amazing silverdragoon-, who has unfortunately left Wattpad.

In this story, Glory and Kinkajou will be sisters, even though they aren't in the series, and JMP stands for Jade Mountain Park.

Glory Rainfall's mother died giving birth to her younger sister Kinkajou when Glory was only a bit older than 2. Seeing as their father left before Glory was even born, the three siblings were left in the care of her strict but kind grandmother, Grandeur.

Growing up, things were not always easy, her grandmother owned a famous company called "Grandeur's Rainwings", and was often not home. Her only brother, Jambu, who was older than her by 3 years, used to cook and make sure his younger siblings were healthy and well-fed. But, Jambu had a bad habit of never taking anything seriously, and was now attending Pyrrhia College. Kinkajou was her favorite sister and her only sister, but nonetheless was also her best friend at home, they've had a close bond ever since Kinkajou was born.

Glory had gone to a public elementary school, but Kinkajou, due to Grandeur's worries of unladylike behavior had gone to a prestigious private school instead, the two rarely saw each other on weekdays and began to grow apart a little. Even though she didn't show it, Glory was secretly thrilled when she heard that Kinkajou would be going to her high school, and couldn't wait to share this piece of information with her friends.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glory trudged into her house after a long day of school, babysitting a neighbor's son, and annoying the heck out of Tsunami.

"Today was pretty good." she thought, but then remembered Deathbringer stalking her.

"He is so arrogant and has an ego the size of Earth," Glory muttered under her breath.

Even though it appeared that no one was in the room, a voice suddenly spoke up, "Who?"

Glory turned around and stared at the far corner where the voice had come from, "Who are you, and why are you listening to my very private conversation with, um, myself?"

"Ooooo, oooooh. I am the ghost of the Rainfall Residence, and I am here to-" but the sentence was cut off with a fit of giggles coming from the other side of the room.

"Hmph, that's not fair, Moon, you weren't supposed to laugh," a very dusty Kinkajou pouted as she got out of her hiding spot.

Another girl, a bit taller than Kinkajou, but Glory guessed they were the same age, crawled out of one of the lower cabinets and shyly waved at Glory.

"Hi, I'm Moonwatcher but most people call me Moon. Kinkajou thought it would be a good idea to scare you..."

"YEAH! You should have seen the look on your face! Now, who is this mysterious 'he' that you were muttering about? Is he someone that I should be shipping you with?..."

"NO! He is an annoying classmate, and you- actually never mind."

"Hmmm... SUSpicious..."

"Ummm... Kinkajou? I think we should go upstairs to your room," Moon said, tugging on Kinkajou's arm.

"Yes you should, listen to your friend Kinkajou. And, by the way, welcome to our house Moon, make yourself- Wait... Moonwatcher... Moonwatcher Twilight?" Glory asked, studying Moon.

"Umm... yes?" she nodded while shyly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Are you Deathbringer's cousin?"

"Yeah... and are you the Glory that Deathbringer keeps talking about?"

That made Glory's cheeks burn, "Uhh... h-he actually talks about me?"

"Oooooooh, is this Deathbringer dude your cru-"

But before Kinkajou could finish her sentence, Moon dragged her upstairs, "Yes, he talks about you a lot, mostly compliments and about how amazing you are. And sorry for bothering you," she called before disappearing into Kinkajou's room.

Glory just stood there for a couple of minutes, trying to understand what she just heard.

Deathbringer, Deathbringer Darkness, the boy who basically stalks her, and annoys her to death, compliments her when she's not there?!?

Everything was so confusing and nothing fit in place, in the gigantic web of puzzle pieces she was creating in her mind.

After a few more minutes of confusion and staring at the wall, Glory slowly turned on her heels and walked upstairs to her room.

*Ding* *Buzz*

Glory quickly her phone to see who had texted her, definitely not expecting this person.

Deathy

Deathy: hi, r u busy?

QueenGlory: no, not rly, y?

Deathy: can u meet me at jmp in 15min?

QueenGlory: alright, ig

Deathy: cya

Putting her phone back, Glory sighed, "Looks like my eventful day isn't over yet..."

Suddenly she felt something rub at her shin, looking down she saw Silver, her pet cat. She lifted the silver and gray she-cat into her arms, gently stroking her pelt. After a few minutes, she placed the cat down and walked out of her room and down the stairs.

"KINKAJOU! I'm going out for a while, if I'm not back by 5, start dinner yourself or order something," Glory called, putting her coat on, she walked out the door.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I *gasp* hate *wheeze* running," Glory muttered to herself, running as fast as she can, towards the park.

Entering the gates, she finally stopped to catch her breath.

Seeing Deathbringer on a park bench, his back towards her, Glory decided a little scare wouldn't hurt. So, sneakily, she crept up behind him and,

"BOO!"

Startled, Deathbringer jumped off the bench, turning around in the process.

"Glory, why would you do that to me?!" Deathbringer shouted, "You literally just scared the living daylights out of me!"

"Oh, oops, sorry..." she responded, not feeling sorry at all, in fact, she felt pretty gleeful.

"*sigh* Fine, anyway, the reason I asked you to come, was because I had a very important question for you, your majesty," he said with a playful little bow.

"Ah yes, peasant, what is this, so very important question?" she asked, her voice pretty much dripping with sarcasm.

"Well, dear Glory, I was wondering if you'd accompany me to the royal dance?"

Letting out a small gasp Glory was found speechless. She obviously wasn't prepared for this question.

"Speechless my queen?" Deathbringer asked with a cheeky smile.

Slightly flustered, Glory quickly said, "Of course not, but, um, ok, I go with you to the dance."

"Really?" he asked, looking surprised while running his hand through his hair.

"Yes, now if there isn't anything else, I really need to go home."

"Oh, yeah, of course. I'll see you tomorrow at school?"

"Yup, I'll see you," Glory agreed, as she turned and started running back to her house.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Glory, why are you so happy?" Kinkajou asked, cautiously, across the dinner table, "You didn't shove anyone into a garbage can for insulting friends again... right?"

"Kinkajou, don't worry, everything is fine! Nothing to worry about," seeing the look on her sister's face, she quickly added, "no, I didn't push anyone off a cliff either."

Before Kinkajou could reply, the two girls heard their front door unlock and swing open.

"Girls, I'm home, I got off work early today," their grandmother called.

"No way! Grandma's finally home early!" Kinkajou cheered, standing up and jumping around.

"Come on Kinkajou, if she's home early, it means she probably has groceries. Let's go help her."

After bringing the groceries in and finishing up dinner, Glory hurried upstairs.

Grabbing her phone from her desk, she flopped onto her bed.

Shutting off her phone she put it back onto her desk.

Sighing she slipped into her bedsheets, thinking about everything that happened today.

"Do I maybe like Deathbringer? Who's Fatespeaker's crush? Will I enjoy the dance?

Thoughts ran around her head like a bunch of jittery rabbits.

Thinking she'd never fall asleep, she closed her eyes.

And in a few minutes, she fell into a deep sleep.
