"hiya, chartreuse," a small, turquoise dragon said to another small dragon, this one having a yellowish-green color.

"hey, looper," chartreuse said to the other dragon with a smile.

"aren't you forgetting something about today?" looper questioned them.

"not that i can think of, why?" chartreuse answered, slightly confused.

"oh, c'mon, don't tell me you don't remember!" looper said enthusiastically. "it's my hatching day!"

"oh! oh... i'm so sorry i forgot, looper. i'm a bad friend." chartreuse said dejectedly.

"no, you're not, you're just forgetful!" looper said understandingly. "c'mon, chartreuse, let's go celebrate!"

the party was thrown at looper's hut, with his parents hosting it. it was a rather small party, but a fun one nonetheless.

"it's time to sing, everybody!" looper's father, acari, said to the guests.

as they sang their happy hatching day song, looper began to get bashful, and slightly curled in on himself. nevertheless, he had a large smile on his face, and it was obvious that he loved the attention he was getting.

many of looper's friends had brought presents, mostly small trinkets or even food. finally it was chartreuse's turn.

"here's my present, looper," chartreuse said as they passed a small gift wrapped in leaves over to the other dragon.

as he tore through the leaves, as smile broke out on his face. the present was revealed to be a wooden carving of looper, painted and all.

"is this me?" looper asked incredulously, clearly shocked at the level of detail.

"yeah! i, uh, i made it myself," chartreuse answered, clearly bashful.

"thank you, i love it!!" looper said energetically. "this might be my favorite thing i've ever had."

"i'm glad you like it," chartreuse said with a smile.

soon the party was over, and as the group of dragons left to their homes, chartreuse remained.

"i had lots of fun today, looper," chartreuse said to their friend.

"me too, i can't wait for my next hatching day!" looper said enthusiastically.

"well, i'd better be getting home," chartreuse said.

"aw, really? but it's not even nighttime yet!" looper said sadly.

"yeah, but i've been gone all day. my parents will be wondering why i'm not home already." chartreuse explained.

"okay... can we play more tomorrow?" looper asked hopefully.

"of course! you may be two years younger than me, but i'll still play with you." chartreuse said, smiling.

"yay!" looper exclaimed. "see you tomorrow then!"

"yeah, see you tomorrow," chartreuse said their farewells, and then turned and flew off, towards home.
