"Oh hi Rosalinda," said Raiden waving his hand

"Hi Raiden?"

"I was going to knock on your window but then I just fell through" replied Raiden sensing what I was about to ask. I continued to look at him with interrogator eyes.

"And why were you going to knock on my window, Raiden?" I asked

"I wondered if you would like to have a tour of the down city? I am going to buy some food for us and I can show you around." he replied. "Well, that's weird, '' said Dain from my mind.

I looked to my broken window and shrugged and said "Why not"

Raiden smiled at me and Dain rolled his eyes from my mind.

"Let's go then" I said and started walking towards the door.

"Wait, let's use the window. I don't want to answer unnecessary questions from the group" I raised one eyebrow but didn't comment more.

"You do realize that he is creepy" said Dain

"Yes I do Dain but maybe he just want to show me around and if not you are here to help me" I answered him from my mind

"I can't help you if he decides to kill you Rosalinda"

"He will not kill me Dain, he is not even a faerie. I can handle him"
"That's the spirit" said Dain cheerful

When I realized that Raiden was still staring at me I smiled at him and jumped from my broken window. Laughing he followed me and we went out the alley. I suddenly got claustrophobic when I saw there was no sky. I don't think I will ever get used to this. We walked in silence until we came out of the alley and to a crowded street. Raiden took my hand and started leading me towards the market place. I fighted the urge to take my hand away but didn't want to be rude. He didn't do anything to deserve it anyway.

We walked down the street with faeries. It was so weird to see people with wings but we didn't stand out because even though most of the faeries had wings there were still some who had not developed their wings. Most of the wings were big and black but there were some who had smaller and more elegant wings too.

We stopped when we reached a stall and I watched Raiden buy some food. After he bought everything we needed he took my hand again and led me to a shop.

"Do you like ice cream?" he asked suddenly

"What?"

"Ice cream." Do you like it? Last i was at the human world people eated ice cream."

"Uh well yeah I guess, who doesn't like ice cream?" i replied smiling

He smiled back and bought us both two ice creams and we started going back the way we came. "Aww that's sweet" said Dain from my head. "Shut up" I replied.

"So why are you here in Lightlee" I asked Raiden while eating my ice cream

"I was a dumb teenager who mistook stupidity for bravery and ended up here, the rest can you imagine. I couldn't get back and I am still trying to find a way to open a pocket door and get back to the human lands. I realized Etetis was my best chance at this so I joined them" he answered me with a closed answer

"Is Etetis what you guys call yourself?" I asked.

"Yes, Jaiblynn suggested the name when Eleni decided to join us. It is supposed to be the name of the first King who ever tried to lift the curse. Rumors say that he died trying that and that he was the last king who ever did anything in the cause."

"So people tried to lift the curse before?"

"Yes but no one was successful and we have no documents from their experiences because they are somehow lost" I jolted with the answer that came from back of us. I glanced at Raiden and then turned around to see Jai standing right behind us. I looked at him with mixed feelings, I was not sure if I was mad at him if I missed him. "He certainly looks like he missed you," said Dain.

Sensing I was not going to say anything Jai turned to Raiden and said: "Can we have a minute alone?"

Raiden looked at me and turned around saying "I'll wait for you back in the safehouse" and went away without waiting for me to answer.

Jai took my hand and started walking somewhere. Why are these boys constantly holding my hand without asking me? We walked in silence until we reached a rooftop and Jaiblynn sat at the edge.

"It is not really any good view you can find in down city but I thought it would be better if we were all alone" he said softly

"Why are you going to kill me?" I couldn't stop myself from saying it but I immediately regretted it when his face falled.

"I am so sorry about you mom Rosalynn but I really didn't know. I saw her at the same time as you"

"Damn it Jai! You promised me! You promised but yet here we are! I choose to trust you but fifteen minutes later I saw my mom get killed by your parents!" I shouted, tears already filling my eyes. I violently wiped my eyes. I was not going to cry.

"I don't know what to say to make this right Rosalynn but I am really sorry. I would have done everything i could if I knew she was the offer that night" said Jai with a very sorry expression

"It is too late for it anyway" I mumbled and looked over to the down city from the roof. I could see the whole city from here and it was not a good view. It was horrific actually. All the houses looked like they were about to crumble to the ground. There were almost no colors. People looked very tired and sick of life. No one was looking at the sky that was not there. I guess it was depressing to see that they are trapped under the ground all the time. Suddenly Jai hugged me and jumped down from the roof.

"What the fu-" We suddenly stopped freefalling and started flying. We were flying very close to the buildings and everybody started shouting and pointing at us.

"I always get happier when I fly so I thought it could lift your mood too. It is my way to say sorry" he said but I was not listening to him anymore. I stretched my arms to both sides and closed my eyes. This was just so magical and peaceful that I didn't have enough words to describe it. I felt the wind in my arms and started laughing loudly.

"Since you can't fly high enough, most faeries here can't fly even though they have wings. It is so sad to think we will never be able to fly in the sky but I try not to think about it. I am lucky because I learnt to fly, flying is the only thing that brings me joy." I looked up to him with a silent forgiveness in my eyes.

"So that is what it takes to make you happy again" said Jai smiling.

We flew together for a while before landing on another rooftop. We were both laughing until Jai turned his back at me and I saw his wings. His wings and the scars on them.

"What happened to your wings?" I asked worriedly. He tucked his wings behind him and turned to me smiling.

"It is very sweet that you are worried about me but it is nothing important" he answered. I thought about what Eleni said about rescuing a human and my heart dropped.

"Did they happen because you helped me out of the castle?" I asked again. Instead of answering he took me to his arms again and started to fly towards the safe house.

I got my answer with his avoidance but decided to not push him more. I am so going to kill Chaol. "I am with you Rosalinda on that," said Dain.

We flew in silence back to the safehouse and he said he had to go back to the castle and left. I couldn't tear my eyes from his scarred wings as he flew away. I felt a sadness rush through me.

I shook my head and then went in. I stopped with the scene in front of me. Everyone was sitting around the bord and looking at me. Especially Raiden looked like he was very mad.

"What.. is happening?" I asked, pausing after every word.

"Did you have fun with dear Jaiblynn?" asked Raiden angrily. What the hell?

"Raiden!" said Eleni with a warning in her voice

"What Eleni? What do you want? Should I shut up as I am always expected to do? Are you going to kick me out and choose Jaiblynn instead?" shouted Raiden and stormed from the house.

Eleni turned to me and said: "Don't worry about him, he is a little moody today"

"I told you he was weird," said Dain from my mind.

Polaris stood up and hugged me while asking: "Are you okay?"

"Yes polar bear, I am okay," I said, hugging her back.

"I just need to get some air, I am going to be back soon."

Without waiting for anyone to say anything I went out and started going towards the end of the alley. I was expecting to see the street we went out to but suddenly I was not here anymore. I thought about a bridge and suddenly I was under a bridge with a lake in front of me.

Panicking I looked around me but there was no sign of the alley I just went through. There was only the stone bridge and the lake. With everything that happened today i sat down with overwhelm. An image of Jai's wings came in front of my eyes and I felt a pang in my heart. I really did judge him too hard the first day. The only thing Jai wanted to do was to help me. I thought of all the broken lives of the faeries in down city. I thought about all the humans killed cruelly. It was our humans prejudice that caged the faeries here but it was Chaol's hate, his greed that kept these faeries in here. It was the king's fault that nothing gets done about the curse. When you punish your own son because of your hate how could you be a merciful leader?

A sudden hate filled my veins and I looked up to get fresh air. That was when I realized how bright it was. I closed my eyes and opened again but the sight was the same. I was looking at the sky. It was a clear blue sky. But how? The burning in veins increased and the exact scene my mom got killed started to play in my mind again and again. My hatred got bigger and bigger. I started to feel like I was burning from inside out. My throat closed and my lungs started burning. I tried to stand up without any success. I looked down the bridge and considered jumping down to the lake just to stop the burning. My body was hurting, my every nerve was burning. I looked around me and saw that the sky was gone and it was dark again. No, it was not completely dark, something was spreading light. Not something, it was me. I was lighting.

The burning increased even more and I started screaming. My senses disappeared and all I could think about was my hatred towards the king. I saw flames coming out of me. I was not burning from inside out anymore I was directly burning with the flames coming out of my body. The bridge shattered and I started falling. I fell and fell and fell. The lake seemed to never getting closer. Until it did and I fell with a splash. The cold water of the lake did nothing to the flames burning me. I was still burning even though I was in the water.

Someone pulled me from the water and started shoking me.

"Rosalinda! Rosalynn, snap out of it! Get hold of your emotions!" I heard Jaiblynn's voice from far away but I couldn't get hold of what he was saying. I tried to look at him but suddenly everything got black and I fell back to the lake.
