I slowly opened my eyes only to meet with an all consuming dark. I was laying in a bed in an old looking room. There was a window next to the bed I was at. It was bunks with clothes in a corner and a desk with some books on it beside. I turned my head to the other side of the room and spotted the door. It was also a scrap looking bookcase. Overall the room looked very old and poorly. This was not the room I was in with my mom yesterday. And then all the things that happened yesterday flooded to my head at the same time. Being caught in the library, mindwall spell, King, Queen, my mom and Jai. A few tears escaped my eyes without my permission. My dear mom.. Now all dead. Brutally murdered. Despite all the promises made. I turned toward the window without trying to stop tears flooding from my eyes. An image of me and my mom laughing at our kitchen came to my mind. We were making bread and having so much fun. I thought of her cheerful mood at all times. I thought of her telling me about faeries, telling me we needed to save them from pockets. I thought of her being murdered by the faeries she wanted to save. I couldn't bear to think of how disappointed she must have been at the moment she realized she was about to die. I couldn't bear thinking about never seeing her again. I couldn't bear thinking about our last minutes together. I couldn't bear thinking about why I didn't hug her more when I had the chance. I couldn't bear thinking about how easily I lost her, how I didn't couldn't do anything else other than watching.

Then I stopped. I stopped breathing for a second, I stopped crying for a minute, I stopped thinking for an hour and I started imagining my revenge for a day. No one came into the room that day and I didnt try going out. I lay in bed and planned for my revenge. I cultivated my hate inside me. One more day passed and I planned more. A plan cleared in my head with a new sunset. One more day passed and I decided that I hated Jai, next hour I decided I hated all faeries, next hour I decided I hated humans as much. One more day passed and then I passed out. Maybe because of hunger or maybe my body decided to shut itself off to give me some pause from all my scheming.

I awoke to the smell of food and two people talking.

"Do you think she is dead?" said a male voice

"I don't know Onyx, why don't you slap her to see if she is dead or not" replied another voice. As I was thinking he was joking, I suddenly stood up with Onyx really slapping me in the face.

"What in the world do you think you are doing?!"

"What in the world do you think you are doing?!" I and the other male in the room shouted at the same time.

"You told me to slap her and I did Raiden?" said Onyx innocently. As Onyx and Raiden were arguing about who was right and Raiden was shouting at Onyx to not take things so literally the door opened again and a girl looking a lot like Jaiblynn came in. My expression automatically became mad with Jai coming into my mind but the girl read it wrong and turned to the two boys arguing and shouted at them.

"Onyx Raiden shut up! You guys are making Roselinda afraid." After making the boys quiet she turned back to me and extended her hand to me.

"My name is Eleni by the way, sorry about the boys, they are like childerens," she said with a smiling face. What is happening here? Where am I? And wasn't Jaiblynn's sister's name Eleni?

Seeing I was too confused to say anything Eleni cointuned; "Aren't you hungry? I made some food ready for you in the kitchen. We can talk more while you are eating. By the way my brother said that your name was Rosalinda but is it okay if I call you Rose?" Well, that answers my question about Jaiblynn. As I was about to reply my stomach made a loud noise causing Eleni to laugh and start pulling me towards the kitchen.

The kitchen looked like our kitchen in our town. It was old and rusty. Definitely not like the palace. Which meant Jaiblynn took me to the down city to his sister. I shook my head to the thoughts that were starting to flood into my head. I am not going to think about Jaiblynn now, I am not going to think about his promise and his lies and I most definitely am not going to think about my mom.

I sat silently at the desk full of food and started to eat. I realized that I was really hungry with each bite. After a few minutes in silence i finally looked up to Eleni and told her "Tell me everything".

She laughed heartily and then opening both arms she said "Welcome to the down city where everybody other than the nobility lives in poverty". I looked at her with my eyes asking for more and she sighed.

"Okay okay, I know what you are asking about. I live in this house with Onyx, Raiden, Xara and your sister Polaris." As I was about to ask for what she ment with Polaris and where my sister is she shhsed me with her finger and continued. "Before you ask anything let me finish first. My brother came with you 3 days ago in the middle of the night and asked me to protect you here. He also told me what happened to your mom and I am truly sorry on behalf of my parents. I want to add that I do not agree with anything my parents do and I totally agree that they are bastards and barbarian and do not deserve to rule Lightlee. I live here with my boyfriend Onyx and his human friend Raiden. I have no idea how he is still alive but he is and he lives with us. There is also Xara who is faerie and she lives also with us and of course your sister Polaris. Now do you have any questions?" she asked. Any questions? I had very many questions.

"Where is my sister? I want to talk with her. Also why is she living with you guys? What am I doing here? Can I live here with you guys because I don't want to go back to the castle and I don't want to see you barbarian brother." I listed all my questions in one breath.

"Woah you had many questions!" she replied laughing. "First of all I understand that you are mad at my brother but he is not a barbarian. On the contrary he is very kind and did all he can to keep you alive so do not call him that in front of me."

"He promised me! He said that he will keep me AND my mom alive but look what happened. My mom is fucking dead! And you brother didn't do anything!" I shouted suddenly, very angry. How dare she defend him to me.

That smiling girl went away with my words and she started to shout at me to. "What did you expect from him?! Jump in front of the knife? How could he stop it? He did everything he could but he couldn't know that my father chose your mom to be this month's offer. Still when you were screaming to the king he did everything he could and took you out of the castle ALIVE. He rescued a human in front of our parents' eyes! Did you know that hiding or saving a human from death is considered treason here?! But he still did it. He still saved your ass knowing it would damn him. So if you say any more bad things to or about my brother I am going to take you and your sister with my hand and deliver you to my father!" She was red with anger but so was I.

"How dare you threaten me with my sister?! Do you think this is only about my mom? Your parents are killing humans at every chance they get for pleasure but your brother doesn't say anything you don't say anything. Do you think I care about my life after I saw my own mother getting killed in front of my eyes? All faeries are the same. Your kin doesn't care about human life a bit so don't come here and tell me lies!" Ending my sentence I stormed out of the room but Eleni didn't let me go.

"Don't lecture me about my kin when humans were the ones who caged us here first. I am not saying what my parents do is not right but it is not without reason. And still after everything humans did both me and my brother are still trying to change our parents' ruling. Do you think you are the only one who ever saw your loved ones die in front of you? My dad killed my brother's girlfriend who was rescuing humans to a safer pocket in front of the whole Lightlee to punish him and to show people what happens when you protect humans. Wake up Rose, pockets not a kind world. I understand that you are in pain but don't cross lines, you have no business being near." I stopped after what she said about Jaiblynn. Pockets was really not a kind world.

I took a step back and looked at Eleni silently. I didn't know what I was going to say. There was no one who was innocent in this bloody history. There were only victims of a crime our ancestors did. And I realized that I was judging Jaiblynn and Eleni too hard for something they weren't directly guilty of. Even if they didnt do anything to stop it I couldn't judge them because neither did I do anything to stop my kin from improsining faeries.

I looked into Eleni's eyes and said: "I am sorry. I think I was a little mean about things I didn't know anything about. I wasn't in my wise mind, it was only my feelings talking."

"It's okay I understand you are sad about mom but now that you know more, please don't be so hard on my brother. He cares about you," she replied smiling.

"To answer your other questions before we both got a little too mad, yes can live with us that's why my brother took you here. You can't speak with your sister now because she is out with Xara but I think she will be back soon." As I was about to ask about where she went Onyx and Raiden came in.

"We heard some shouting but didn't want to interrupt" said Onyx and then added: "I am sorry about slapping you, I take things a little too literally and when Raiden said to slap you I didn't think he was joking. My name is Onyx by the way"

"Its okay Onyx, it didn't hurt anyway" i replied smiling.

Raiden reached his hand to me and said "My name is Raiden, it is good to meet a new human. Your sister talked a lot about you. You dont look like your sister though."

I put my hand through my silver hair and answered: "Nice to meet you too. I hear that a lot, we don't look alike because our fathers are different." I had wavy silver hair like Jaiblynns's hair while Polaris had pitch black hair.

Onyx turned to Eleni and asked if she was okay silently while I started to go back to my room. No one asked anything more and I went to my room , grateful for silence after all that arguing. Today was very exhausting and it was still noon. I went to my bed and decided to take a nap until Polaris came back. I went through my revenge plan in my mind, making some adjustments after our talk with Eleni. I also thought about Onyx and his innocent and cheerful character, Raiden and his serious character. It was good to have some humans to talk to in this realm. I wondered what kind of a person Xara was. I hoped to be able to have a good relationship with them, maybe even be friends.

As I closed my eyes I thought I heard something exploding outside but my eyes were too heavy so I fell asleep.
