Packages and wounds not tended by bandages

Marinette said the words and magical pink light surrounded her body. When it was gone she was covered in the usual red spandex that was pretty much invisible. She felt stronger, powerful even! But something kept her on the ground.

It was her fear of leaving it.

She looked at her wings which felt muscular now, not brittle as they had been before. She raised them above her body, stretching them out and flexing them, but she still had her feet glued to the floor.

Yes, she had flown in the past. In fact she was rather good at flying, which surprised her. But that was when Chat was with her. Oddly enough, when he was with her, she felt it was easier to fly. And less terrifying as well. She had faith in him they her wouldn't let her fall. Because she always had the fear that one day Tikki wouldn't be able to make her fly, and she would fall to the streets of Paris as a flightless Ladybug.

She took a deep breath.

"I won't be up their to long. Just hand him the gift, tell him it's from Marinette, and get back down as fast as possible. Simple as that. "She said to herself, clutching the gift tightly to her chest. She closed her eyes, thinking of Adrien.

Her eyes fluttered open and her robust wings spread abruptly. With one foul swoop, she had carried herself out of the alley and into the sky. Dozens of people where up their, she wasn't used to flying with that many civilians. For she only flew as ladybug, and when ladybug was out, people were hiding from an akuma. So this change made it slightly more difficult to maneuver.

She also hadn't realized that their was certain "airways" to flying in, similar to a road. And Ladybug found it strenuous to learn how it worked so quickly. She called herself down and looked around her. She flew higher than her comfort zone and looked about her surroundings.

People. People. More people. No Adrien.

She growled in bitterness. She flew above the airways, ignoring the boards of fan groups snapping photos of her, or chasing after. But being a super heroine made her fast, so escaping them was easy. She strained her vision, searching for the blonde haired boy with green, black, and white wings.

Well she didn't find him. But she did see Chloe. That brat. She restrained herself from doing anything irrational as she flew closer to the irritating girl. She flew above Chloe on the airway.

The girl was texting while flying. And illegal move but whatever. LadyBug rapped her shoulder. Chloe crowned her neck in a scowl to see who dared touch her perfect blouse, only to see her absolute idol. Ladybug. Her face lit up and she pulled herself out of the airway, like pulling over on the road in a car.

"OMG Ladybug!!! I'm a huge FAN!" Chloe took a selfie with Ladybug while blabbing on, as LadyBug's ears felt like falling off.

"That's very nice erm... Chloe." Ladybug said in a flat tone.

"You know who I am! Oh my gosh!" Chloe spun around.

"Yep. You are the mayors daughter and on TV all the time." Ladybug pushes her away as nicely as she could, but wanted to unleash a dozen hungry lions on her in the inside.

"You watch me on-"

"Let me cut to the chase. I saw you were just with a boy, Adrien Agreste. I need to know where he is" Ladybug said.

"My Adriekins? Oh yes I know where he is! He's pretty much my boyfriend." Chloe places her hands in her hips proudly. Ladybugs spirit dropped a little.

So Adrien did in fact love Chloe. What was the point of even giving him the gift. Chloe eyed the present in Ladybug's arms.

"Ooh a present? It is his birthday. Here just give it to me and I'll make sure he gets it!" Chloe reaches for it. Ladybug pulled it back.

"It's not from me exactly, and the girl who wanted to give it to him wanted me to deliver it personally." Ladybug held it back from Chloe defensively.

"A girl wanted to give MY Adrien a gift? Well good luck finding him, he hates fan girls." She flicked her hair. "You can give it to me or find him yourself. I have to get the hotel ready for his party, and by get it ready I mean get my employees do it for me." Chloe raised her hand, waiting for Ladybug to place the gift in it.

By now she was feeling uneasy being this high up in the sky. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and her breathing was growing faster and shallower. She was afraid it was obvious to Chloe asWell, and tried to hide her fear.

"Never mind then." Ladybug shook her head. "Goody bye." She said flatly and dove to the ground.

LadyBug made sure to hide safely in the same alley way she'd come from and released her transformation. Instantly that emotion of strength was washed away. A hopeless feeling replaced it, sinking in her chest, and increasing her fear. Though she wasn't sure of what she was afraid of.

Tikki rose in front Marinette flustered face. The kwami's face was instantly ticked off, glaring at her master. "What happened? Why do you still have that gift?!" Tikki demanded. Marinette felt her eyes water. Tikki's face softened as she potties Marinette, and hugged the girl's cheek. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry Tikki, you didn't do anything." Marinette patted her back.

"Then what happened?"

"He-" she choked on her own tears that had suddenly started pouring down her face. "He loves Chloe." She sunk to her knees. "It's useless." The three the present to the floor and placed her face in her hands.

"Calm down Marinette! You'll attract an akuma!" Tikki flitted about the air. Marinette curled up in a ball and sobbed. "Besides, I thought you said you didn't like him anymore. So should it matter?"

"I don't know Tikki!" Marinette continued to cry.

"Let's go home. We can talk it over and make a new plan! It's ok to give it to him later you know!" Tikki grabbed Marinette's fingers and tried to pull her up. Marinette hesitantly rose into the air, and picked up the tattered gift. She brushed the drift off of the slightly torn wrapping paper, and wiped her eyes.

"Yeah. Let's... let's go home..." Marinette mumbled and emerged from the alleyway.

"Good job Marinette!" Tikki hugged her cheek again fondly. Marinette giggled weakly.

"I am the White Doll!" A new super villain had arisen. "And all parents will pay for grounding children from their toys!"

"Oh not another kid." Ladybug sighed.

"Nothing is to much for us to handle bugaboo." Chat Noir said coyly.

"Right." Ladybug pulled herself into a readied heroic stance.

"Have a plan?" Chat Noir put question to.

"Break the akumatized object?" She chuckled nervously.

"Brilliant as always my lady." He bowed so deep his knees almost touched his nose.

"Save it kitty." Ladybug launched herself into the air with sturdy wings. Chat smiled as he stood back up, also propelling himself into the sky. The akuma was a child, as previously stated. She had a doll like face in a creepy manor, and her hair was pulled into pigtails. In her hand was a golden staff with a fairy like figure at the end.

She pointed the staff at Ladybug. "Give me your miraculous!" She screamed and a white beam spiraled from the tip.

"Hey, we don't want to be grounded!" Chat tackled Ladybug in the air so that the beam would miss her. Ladybug looked down and saw some adults with their feet glued to the floor. Guess she took getting grounded literally.

"Thanks kitty." She strokes his hair which made him pur.

"You can't escape me forever!" The girl said with a heavy lisp.

"Yeah well you won't be akumatized long enough to catch us!" Chat flew with incredible speed at the girl. Using his baton he knocked her's out of her hand. Her wings were to small to carry her fast enough to catch it.

"Nooo!" She screamed as Ladybug caught it. The heroine snapped the staff over her knee and a black butterfly flew out.

"No more evil doing for you little akuma!" Ladybug spun her yo-yo.

Chat Noir caught the akumatized victim as she fell from the sky suddenly. He carried her safely to the ground next to ladybug. The girl was confused, and scared, as she hugged Chat's torso.

"Hey, it's ok, your safe now." Ladybug bent over and put a hand on the girl's shoulder. The girl was still in her akumatized form.

"She's not changing back." Chat hissed to ladybug. She nodded.

"I-" her eyes widened. "Wait! Where's the akuma!" She looked up and saw it fluttering into the sky, circling above them. "No no no, not again!" The butterfly escaped ladybug's yo-yo as she threw it at it. The butterfly closed in on the girl's waist band, and they were to late to catch it.

"ShI-"

The girl shoved Chat Noir away from her and picked up her broken staff which had mended back together.she placed it under LadyBugs chin. "Don't move little bug." She seethed. LadyBug froze.

"Hey get off her!" Chat kicked the girl with his heel. Ladybug took the chance to jump into the sky as the girl staggered back. The White Doll raised her staff to shoot at ladybug once more, but Chat tackles it from her.

"Ha Ha Ha! You think you can simply keep stopping me from harming her? Well you can go first Chat Noir!" She cackled ans pressed the staff to his chest. Chat's eyes widened in shock. "By forgetting to deakumatize me you only made it easier!"

A white streak blasted through Chat Noir's chest. He gasped as it hit him, causing him to stagger back and Ladybug to scream. His feet were glued to the floor, yes, but something was worse.

The staff was pressed into his chest, and had some how pierced through the indestructible fabric. There was no blood, but the staff was deep in the center of his thorax.

"See?! You thought! You thought!" She pulled it out. It hadn't affect chat in any way, just looked ugly and terrible, the magic of the miraculous was already mending it, the suit magically sealing itself around the wound.

Chat was a little shocked himself. But saw he was being healed, not knowing if the consequences that would bear down on him later.
