A stolen jewel from enemies at school

Dark Cupid wasn't too hard to find, after the fact that he had already altered a majority of Paris into hatred. They formed a plan, without LadyBug mentioning the fact she had lost the use of her wing. They sent Carapace to the alleyway, near to Chat Noir. Dark Cupid would not know the presence of other miraculous wielders. So the plan would hopefully go straight forward. Rena also had herself hidden, ready for her cue.

All the while LadyBug was left on the ground feeling helpless. She wanted to cry, but she had to stay strong. She was a superhero after all! If she gave up, hundreds of more people could get hurt. She crouched on top of a building, peering down at Chat Noir who was waiting patiently in the middle of the street.

Dark Cupid revealed himself by shooting an arrow at Chat Noir. Suspecting it, Chat Noir briskly evaded the dart. Dark Cupid sprung out of his hiding place in the roots of a billboard sign. He shot three more arrows which just regenerated in his quiver. Chat Noir spread his broad wings and carried himself into the air. Dark Cupid flew up that way as well, chasing the heroine. Chat teased him with his baton, poking at Dark Cupid obnoxiously.

Dark Cupid snarled and grabbed the end of the baton. Chat gave him one last smirk before disintegrating into nothing. Dark Cupid hovered in the air in awestruck horror. The real Chat Noir tackled him from behind, pulling him into a chokehold snuggly around his neck.

"How is that possible!?" Dark Cupid fumed.

"Let's just say, we got some help." Chat Noir chuckled. Rena Rouge flew with eagle wings out of her hiding place. She raised her flute, which was a form of weapon, and jabbed it into Dark Cupids' chest. Dark Cupid flinched, expecting something to happen. But soon realized he was trapped inside of a large green bubble.

Chat Noir had flown out of the bubble in time, as Rena pushed the akumatized victim to the base. Carapace and LadyBug then came out of what seemed to nowhere and kicked the pendant on Dark Cupid's chest in sync.

"TIME TO DE EVILIZE!" LadyBug threw her yoyo at the black butterfly that had emerged from the pendant. Dark Cupid fought but was still trapped inside Carapace's force field. LadyBug captured the Akuma and purified it. "Bye Bye little butterfly." She waved it off as the now white butterfly fluttered away.

"Pound it?" Chat Noir offered his fist.

"POUND IT!" They all said in unison, slamming their fists together. The four chuckled together.

"So um... what do me and Carapace do now?" Rena asked politely. LadyBug rubbed her chin.

"I guess you keep your miraculous. You must have been chosen for a reason, I don't see any reason why we would give them back. We also still need to find Chloe and get the Bee miraculous back." LadyBug said in response.

"So until next time dudes?" Carapace said with a questioning tone.

"I guess so." LadyBug smiled. "I'm about to transform back, just remember you must not reveal your identities to anybody! And Rena Rouge and Carapace are not party tricks!" LadBug turned away, twirling her yoyo. "Au revoir!"

"Wait! M'lady!" Chat Noir chased after her as she used her yoyo to pull her away. She sensed his presence and traveled faster, holding her wing in one arm. "LadyBug!" He flew above her and flipped in the air, landing on his feet in front of her. She was forced to stop.

"What do you want Chat!? I'm about to transform back!" She scolded.

"I just wanted to apologize." He softened. His ring and her earing beeped in unison, warning them of their transformation.

"I have less time than you, remember? And it's not your fault, it was... a different you." She smiled sweetly.

"I just feel so guilty. I might have ruined your life forever!" His eyes started to water. He rubbed them so he wouldn't cry, not in front of her at least.

"You didn't ruin anything for me, that wasn't bad already." She blubbered.

"Don't cry bugaboo!" He pulled her into a hug. "I'm sorry!" He rubbed circles on her back.

"N-no you f-fine. The miraculous should heal, but as for my civilian form..." She pulled away from him abruptly. Her earing beeped one last time. " I have to go!" She ran away from him and lept off the edge of the wall, followed by a flash of pink light.

"Bye... then.." Chat Noir slumped over, leaning into the wall. He let out a long sigh, before releasing his transformation. 'what have I done' he thought to himself. He ran his fingers through his groomed hair, messing it up. He kneaded his temples, burying his face in his hands as he slid down the wall till he was sitting.

Marinette had to set up an incident as to why her wing was now paralyzed and speckled black. She didn't want it to be too suspicious, in fear of publicizing her identity. She snuck home and noticed her parents weren't there. This was her chance, but she only had a little time to make a staged accident before the got back.

"Think Marinette! THINK!" She pounded her head.

"Don't hurt yourself Marinette!" Tikki frowned. Marinette stopped hitting herself.

"Ok um... Help me Tikki!" Marinette pleaded.

"Marinette, it might not be a good idea.. what are you trying to do exactly?"

"Stage an accident!"

"That's um... That's not a good idea.."

"Oh come on Tikki! Should I reveal my identity instead!?" Marinette counteracted.

"True true. But don't... erm... overdramatize it." Tikki stated. 'this wasn't supposed to happen' she thought to herself, eyeing Marinette's speckled black wing.

"Hey, wasn't I supposed to make dinner tonight?!" Marinette recollected.

"Yes, but what does that have to do with your wing?"

"I could pretend to have burned it!"  Marinette puffed out her chest.

"But your feathers aren't singed." Tikki pointed out.

"True.... maybe I..."

"Don't burn yourself," Tikki said flatly.

"Dang." Marinette put her hand on her chin. "It kinda looks like frostbite.. don't you think?" She lifted her wing with her arms.

"1. you would have to get it amputated and 2. how would you have gotten frostbite in the first place? It's not that cold out." Tikki questioned.

"True, true. UGH, this is so hard!" Marinette groaned.

"Well hurry. Your parents get home at six!" Tikki looked at the clock which read 5:50.

Btw this is the American time clock. So for ya'll reading this in the Uk or other countries on what we call military time, (in other words the 24-hour clock)  her parents get home at 18:00 and it currently is 17:50 for Marinette. Hope that clears things up. ;)

"Um... let's just go with the burned one!" Marinette rushed to the freezer and grabbed her premade frozen casserole she made last night. She turned on the oven and waited for it to warm up.

"Marinette you can't!"

"I'll only burn a few feathers! It won't matter to me anyway, I can't fly!" Marinette grabbed a lighter from the pantry.

"No Marinette! Just wrap it in a bandage and pretend. I don't like lying, but you can't do this to yourself!" Marinette raised the lighter to her feathers.

"Tikki, what if they ask to see?" She whined.

"Marinette... please we'll think of something else."

"Too late!" Marinette flicked on the lighter and lit a couple of feathers on fire. Tikki gasped, as the fire spread slowly, consuming a few of her feathers. Marinette rushed to the sink and threw her wing inside, instantly turning on the water and drowning out the fire. "OW! That hurt!"

"What did you expect?" Tikki sighed.

"I don't know. I thought it would tingle. Anyways, can you help me doctor, this up?" Marinette asked.

"Of course. But first of all, put the casserole in the oven." Tikki instructed.

"Fine." Marinette opened the oven door and gently placed the casserole inside. She looked at the clock. "Hurry we only have 5 minutes!" She ran upstairs, her wing dragging behind her.

"I don't think getting a burn can paralyze you." Tikki ambiguously.

"3rd-degree burns do!... I think..." Marinette looked at her feet, as she carried herself to the bathroom. She pulled out the medkit.

"Just fold your wing to your body when you wrap it up. That way it looks normal... I don't know. This normally doesn't happen!" Tikki sighed.

"Ok but... wait. What do you mean normally?" Marinette raised an eyebrow.

"Well, you're not supposed to get hurt in the suits. I noticed it happening to Chat Noir aswell. It's only happened once before, and it was back in the black plague as well." Tikki pulled a fat white bandage from the kit and handed it to her master.

"Really? What happened?" Marinette was intrigued.

"Well... I shouldn't say much but..."

"But what?" Marinette took the bandage and pushed her wing up against her back so it looked folded. "Ow.. the wing is getting stiff."

"That's to be expected." Tikki helped her wrap it up.

"But what happened during the black plague?" Marinette pestered Tikki.

"Well... Marinette you can't share this with Chat Noir, ok? His kwami will tell him when it's time." Tikki warned.

"Um... ok?"

"Good. Now for the suits to do this, they need two of three things. Which is why It's so rare, that it's happened only once... well now twice before." Tikki began. "One of the three is for one of the wielders to break their miraculous, which would ripple into the opposite yet equal miraculous. So one of you or Chat Noir would have broken it."

"I thought they were unbreakable?" Marinette raised her eyebrow again.

"Normally yes. But the wielder of another miraculous has the power to break them." Tikki answered. "Another way for the suits to behave this way is when the two wielders... well... fall in love."

"Wait for what?! How would that affect anything?!" Marinette finished taping her wing.

"Because emotions can manipulate magic. And love is the most powerful in this scenario." Tikki answered.

"And what about the last requirement?" Marinette asked.

"Well normally if it's not both of the first two, then it means something bad is about to happen," Tikki explained. "You see, the miraculous isn't time-bound. Which would mean that if it's only one of the first two I mentioned, then we are in terrible danger."

"W-what kind of danger?" Marinette asked.

"Well, it was the black plague back when it first happened, but it could also mean drought, mass starvation, war and so on. Whatever you can imagine that would be so terrible it would affect all of Paris, France, and maybe the world!" Tikki exclaimed.

"So your saying... wait how? My miraculous isn't broken and I'm not in love with Chat Noir! That must mean there is a fourth and the um... future consequence."

"Are you sure Marinette? There are only three ways it happens, and I told you them." Tikki folded her arms.

"Well, what were the two for it to happen in the black plague?" Marinette inquired.

"Well it was the cause of the plague and the Chat Noir of the time had broken the ring. The miraculous was able to mend itself, but in order for it to happen, he had to... die. To stop the plague and heal herself, LadyBug sacrificed Chat Noir-"

"She killed him!" Marinette interrupted.

"Well... yes. He agreed to let her do it, for it would save dozens of lives across Europe, particularly in London where they lived. With Chat Noir dead, the miraculous were healed and the plague eventually ended. Unfortunately, LadyBug himself was killed by the sickness." Tikki looked down sadly. Marinette paused, only now had she thought of all the deaths Tikki had witnessed. The kwami couldn't die, and would one day see Marinette pass on. It was despairing to think about it, she felt melancholy inside.

"I'm... I'm sorry..." Marinette mumbled.

"It's ok. He was a good ladybug, of course, he didn't call himself that. The Cimex was his name and his partner Nigrum." Tikki looked like she was about to cry, and Marinette knew she had touched a soft spot.

"Marinette!? You home?!" They heard her parents downstairs.

"Hide." She hissed and stood up. "I'll be right down!" She looked at her blackened wing in the mirror, then at her earrings.

They weren't broken.
