Chapter 20 - beach, jerk
[Dean]
It had been a while since Dean had been to the beach, not since summer holiday, but this beach it had been even longer since he had visited. As it came into view Dean couldn't help but smile, nice and large, but hidden enough that few people visited it, especially on a day like this.
They parked the car, and Dean couldn't help but look over at Sam as they arrived. "Beach." He muttered, taking his brother's gaze away from the beach and onto him. At first he looked confused, but that was only for a second, before he grinned.
"Jerk." He responded, and then opened the car door, and exited, meeting up with everyone else that had just arrived outside. This meaning Dean was left alone with Cas, again. He was almost beginning to wonder if Sam was doing it on purpose at this point.
Cas didn't seem to have noticed the two brother's little exchange, as he exited the car right after Sam, and then so did Dean. Both went to the back of the car to get their things, and at the same time, both reached out and their hands touched.
Dean froze for a moment, so it seemed, did Cas, before they both grabbed their things without looking at each other. Together everyone headed onto the sand, to find somewhere to put down their towels, and get changed.
They were quite a few people, as Jo had brought a good few friends. She ended up a bit away from Dean, sitting beside a pretty attractive guy, clearly on purpose. Not that Dean could say anything, he had just done the same, placing his towel next to Cas. If anyone asked, he'd just pretend it was because Cas didn't know many people.
Beside Dean again, was Sam and Eileen. Dean was still waiting for his younger brother to ask the girl out, but it didn't seem to be happening anytime soon. Not that Dean could know for sure. On the other side of Cas, Charlie and Dorothy laid out their towels, though not super close to Cas or Dean. No one had laid their towels that close. Well, other than the actual couple.
"Who's your friend Winchester?" It was Charlie, how she had already changed into her swimwear was a mystery, maybe she had been wearing it under her clothes. The black bathing suit looked nice on her, didn't really fit her personality though.
"I'm Cas, Cas Novak, I study art." He introduced himself, he and Charlie shook hands, while Charlie was grinning widely. It was almost cute, Dean could imagine the two being friends, they were both a little strange. Somehow he just imagined they'd enjoy each other's company.
"Charlie, Bradbury. Nice to meet you." She introduced herself as well, and threw Dean some kind of look, before heading back to Dorothy a few feet away. Dean had finally laid his things out, then he began changing. He pulled of his t-shirt, and didn't notice Cas staring, and got changed into his swimming trunks.
The same moment he was done, so was Sam, and also Cas. He turned around to ask Cas to join him for a swim and stopped in his tracks. Cas' face was tanner than his chest, that had to be said, but his skin was so, smooth somehow, Dean didn't know why he enjoyed that sight.
He was surprisingly muscular, Dean thought, and wondered what he had possibly done to look so fit. He was quite slender but both his arms and abdomen was clearly toned and muscular. Cas looked hot, and Dean hated himself for thinking that.
"You- uh..." Dean cleared his throat. "You wanna join us for a swim?" He looked to Sam, only to find that he was no longer there, and was heading down to the water with Eileen, only a few people were left, some of Jo's friends, and Dorothy, Dean noticed. She didn't seem like she would be going swimming any time soon. She was in a bikini, with her sunglasses on, and reading a book.
"Well I'll join you for one, yeah." Cas grinned, and Dean nodded, trying to keep his eyes away from Cas bare upper body. The problem was that there wasn't anywhere else to look that was any less attractive to Dean in the bright hot sunlight. His hair was shining ever so slightly, and his eyes were so blue that it had to be illegal.
"Cool, cool." Dean tried to assemble himself, as he looked away from Cas and the two begun walking down to the water, it was very blue too, but not as blue as Cas' eyes. Dean had to look back at him, just to make sure. Yep, they were bluer.
The water got deep pretty quick and soon Dean had water up to his waist, Cas following right behind him. Dean really felt like going over to Sam and hiding behind to not be left alone with Cas and his bare abdomen, but he also didn't want to ruin Sam's time with Eileen. He was rooting very hard for the two of them to finally go on a date.
Suddenly someone sent a splash Dean's way. Half expecting it to be Cas he turned to look behind him, and was ran down by a short little mass of red hair shoving him underwater. Dean held his breath quickly, but he could already feel some water coming up into his nose. Well at least she saved him from getting awkward with Cas.
Somehow managing to push Charlie off him, he got his head over water again, where Charlie was laughing her ass off. Cas was smiling as well, and before Dean knew it Charlie had exchanged a glance with Cas, and the both of them begun splashing Dean down. "Hey hey!" Dean tried shouting, putting up his arms to try and shield his face from the water, clearly defeated.
There was no chance for him to splash them back, he had lost. Doused in water everywhere. They finally stopped and Charlie was doubling over with laughter while Cas was grinning widely. "Sorry Dean, she forced me." He tried and Dean just rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah clearly. I could tell." He said sarcastically and Cas just shrugged innocently. Though Dean couldn't help but notice the way Cas was looking at him, all wet everywhere. He had to take some kind of revenge upon them right, or maybe, just upon Cas.
Dean grinned evilly, and then threw himself at Cas. Pushing him underwater and coming on top of him, both were under the surface now, and Dean could feel every single spot where he was touching Cas. Their legs all tangled together, his hands against Cas' chest and his own bare stomach touching Cas' just a slight.
Cas' eyes were wide open and possibly even more blue, glowing in slight darker light that came from being underwater. Dean was grinning widely at him, looking at how his dark hair waved in the water, and how incredibly tempting his lips looked. Dean knew they were only underwater for a few seconds, but it felt like an eternity of every little detail of Cas. Of every little touch and tint of blue eyes, or every piece of bare skin touching with Dean's. The feeling was so overwhelming that Dean thought for a second he was about to throw up.
And then they were apart, both going to the surface again, with sly grins, as they both knew this splash war had just started, but Dean knew. He knew that slight look behind Cas' eyes, the slight tint of pink that painted Cas' cheeks for just a moment. Then they were in the middle of another splash fight with Charlie, and had no time to think more about any of it.
