Chapter 5

Brandon sighed as Lukas left, curling up his bed as memories assaulted his mind. While talking with Lukas had helped a little bit, it hadn't stopped him from thinking about Ritchie. He felt a blush rise to his face as he thought of a certain incident between him and Ritchie.

He was wrapping bandages around the druid after Ritchie had tried to destroy the blood moon. It hadn't worked. If the druid had talked to him beforehand, he would've told him that it was a stupid idea and wouldn't work. But he hadn't, and now he was getting an earful from the fallen angel because of it.

"You're lucky that you didn't get yourself killed." The fallen angel said as he finished tying the bandages off and swept the rest of the medical supplies back into a chest.

"Look, it just seemed like the easiest way to destroy the blood moon and get everything back to normal." Ritchie winced as he shifted a little on the bed.

"You could've at least let me know so I could've been there instead of having to come across you lying in a pit of fire." Brandon scolded as he flew back over to the druid.

"I didn't want to bother you in case it didn't work," Ritchie admitted rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

"That's exactly why you should've bothered me!" Brandon snapped at him as he looked at the other.

"Hey now, don't get mad." Ritchie tried to calm the other down. "I can see what you mean and next time, I'll be sure to let you know before trying something like that."

"How about next time you try and fly at something, you let the one who can actually fly do it." Brandon said referring to himself, not expecting the reaction that followed.

"NO!" Ritchie nearly yelled as he pulled Brandon down beside him, hugging him against his side. "It's one thing for me to get hurt, its quite another for you to get hurt!"

Brandon tried to squirm away, but Ritchie just continued to hug him as the druid said sternly. "I don't want you trying what I did ever!"

"Now you're being a bit of hyprocrate." Brandon rolled his eyes.

"I don't care! I don't want you hurt!" Ritchie declared.

"And I don't want you to be hurt any more than you already are." Brandon retorted before looking up at Ritchie and saying. "Look, if you promise me that you'll never do something like that again, I'll promise never to try something like that either."

"Fine." Ritchie sighed as he looked back at Brandon. Brandon didn't realize how close their faces were until the breath from Ritchie's sigh hit him in the face.

His face turned a little pink which didn't go unnoticed by the druid, who started smirking as he looked down at him. The druid reached a hand up as if to cup his face as he whispered. "Should we seal that with a kiss?"

Brandon's face went an even brighter red and he couldn't even form a coherent sentence. Ritchie decided to take his lack of objection as a yes as he leaned forward and kissed Brandon. Brandon went still before he started to kiss back as the druid held him closer...

Brandon smiled even as he blushed at the memory. Sure, he hadn't liked that he had had to bandage up the druid but that kiss... if he was honest, that had been his first kiss. He could still feel the way the druid's lips moved against his own.

His smile faded as he curled into a tighter ball, remembering that he would probably never kiss the other like that again. It made his heart hurt even worse than before at the pain of not being able to be with the druid.
