"Hey Greg, I had things to take care of at school and I wouldn't be able to cover up my usual shifts. Maybe I could take over the shift Friday through Sunday and I will work double shifts on Saturday? She waited until she heard some form of affirmative response."Thanks, I will be sure to cover my new shifts. Bye."
She pressed in the numbers that have been engraved in her heart in the past few months and dialed. Samantha picked up on the second ring. "Hey honey, how was school? Are you done yet."
"Hey mum, yeah, I will be on my way home. Listen, uh, do you mind if I bring a, uh,-" She glanced Solomon's way. He seemed particularly interested about her conversation."Yes, darling?" Her mum prodded for Zara to continue. Her curiosity was piqued, Zara could tell. "Can I bring a classmate over? We have to do some studying by the president's order."
"Sure, why not! Bring your classmate over. I am already home, you guys will have a fantastic snack."
Zara stayed on her phone a while longer before she hang up. She turned to look at Solomon leaning on his Ducati bike. She is a beauty, and he is rich, she mused as she glanced at the black beast under histhigh.
"We can go now. We have one and half hour, I have other things to do."
He nodded and they both revved their engines. She looked at the watch on her dashboard. 3:03. I will have plenty of time.
Zara had finally agreed to their studying at her house after school because she was tired of going to the library every lunch and Solomon was insisting upon it. These extra credits must really be important.

Solomon arrived at her house a minute after she did. Zara was waiting for him by her car which was purposely parked in the compound and not the garage. He came to her side and unstrapped his helmet. He eyed the garage door upfront and then her car. "Aren't you going to park it in there?" She simply ignored him and started walking to the front door expecting him to follow her, and he did.
The door opened wide just as she crossed the huge veranda and revealed a very excited looking Samantha. "Sweetheart! You are home! Where is your fri-" She stopped mid sentence when she saw who is standing behind her precious daughter. Her whole expression turned stoic. "He is the friend?!" Zara was confused for a moment but then it clicked and her heart burst into fluffy bubbles. She felt like floating. "No mum, he is the classmate. " Solomon felt like he was missing out on something. What the hell?! Samantha cleared her throat and her spine went ramrod straight.
"Come in, right this way." She led them down the hallway and to the place she had in mind." So your room is on this floor?" He asked Zara cautiously. "Nobody is going to Zara's room. You kids will be in the kitchen where I and the snacks will be." Samantha turned and managed to smile sweetly at Solomon. He gulped for various reasons. "Okay, Mrs. Payne." Zara's eyes widened by fraction and Samantha stopped walking, both teenagers almost run her over." Please, call me Samantha." So that's what they thought. Zara realized. The whole town drew a conclusion on its own.

"You chose only the simplest and most memorable ones. Next, go for the harder ones, the ones we went through last session." Zara looked at her paper mutely exasperated. She looked bored out of her mind. She picked a slice of the delicious home made pizza and started nibbling at it.
Solomon now looked like he is at his wits end. "Seriously, Zara, pay at-"
"Let me ride her around the perimeter." Her face was blank of any emotions but he could see very very slightly the glint of excitement brimming behind her eyes." W-What? Who?" She silently prodded him with her eyes, hell, she prodded him with her everything; fingers drummed against the counter ever so subtly, her breathing picked up and her knees brushed against his but she looked completely unaware of her actions. He was distracted for a while and forgot what she was asking....."Oh hell no!!! No,no,no,no...."

"Please don't crash my baby!" Solomon murmured under his breath as he watched Zara straddling his most prized possession.
"You got it sis!!!" Nathanael cheered his sibling with adoration. He glanced sideways and glared at his guest with warning.
Solomon wondered for the thousandth time in the past few minutes how he got in this pitiful position. One second he was profusely refusing Zara's ridiculous request and the next,he was handing out his keys to her with two intense pair of eyes weighing down on him, virtually drilling a hole in his head. In between, he remembered a very hasty footballer Payne almost tackling done the front door and marching to the kitchen like he was expecting the house to be on fire. He had asked if his mum was alright and then came to Zara's side to see what was going on. "Who the hell are you and what are you doing with her?" He had bellowed. His mum had rushed to his side and had summarized everything quickly not forgetting to include Zara's crazy suggestion. "So..." He had drawled. The mother Payne had a wistful aura and a strangely cute puppy face. Solomon had then gave in rather reluctantly.
"I have never let another person on her...."
"Stop being such a p- baby." Nathanael said, he couldn't stand this stranger's whimpering.
Zara threaded her fingers across the handle completely mesmerized. All of them looked at the scene folding in front of them. Zara's face was epitome of childlike ecstasy. The kind you see on the face of a child on Christmas morning. If she clapped her hands in glee and if her laughter had caught in her throat, she would have been branded officially as such. But she held onto her aloof expression desperately, miserably. Each of the audience though, saw right through her for their own reasons. Samantha dabbed at her eyes to conceal their watery appearance, Nathanael's heart wrenched out of his chest in painful pleasure and Solomon, he couldn't quite make out of his inner turmoil.
The roaring of the engine brought them down to their immediate environment. Zara raised the handle wheel mid air and shot forward leaving trails of light smoke in her wake. The rubber. Solomon thought and waited for the remorse to hit him but it was too light he staggered emotionally. Just like the stumbling that happens when he thought he had more steps to descend but was received by the landing.
Few minutes later, they heard the lush sound of the ritzy hot wheel coming from the opposite direction which Zara drove off. Her figure emerged and she made a dramatic show of circling around before she brought the bike to halt in front of them.
Her brown locks were everywhere but they weren't unpleasant to the sight. Her natural tanned skin had a beautiful hue of pink, her eyes were wild and she was breathless."You forgot to put on the helmet." Solomon said lowly, staring at her as if it was his first time he had laid eyes on her. "I-uhhuhu- I didn't need one." She breathed out, managing to collect oxygen abruptly.
Solomon shook his head as if he woke from a trance and jumped to the job of examining his 'baby'. Everything seemed fine, as far as he could tell and that was saying a lot.
" Thank you for letting me do that, dark stealth indeed."
His heart swelled in pride. "She is alright. She cost a fortune."
"I bet she did."
Nathanael gazed at his little sister in awe. When his mum has called him to tell him she needed him he didn't know what to expect but it definitely was not this. Not a boy his sister brought home, also all of them claim it to be innocent and not motor-crazed Zara. He didn't have time to experience this pleasant surprise. But now he did. He had tried to get such a reaction out of her for a long time by forcing her to go shopping with him, the movies, dragging her to spas(where he sat awkwardly in the waiting room) and others that skipped his mind. I should have thought out of the box, hell, I should've thought far from it. He projected his gaze towards the owner of this source of reaction and his features went somber. Who is this dude anyway?
Nathanael looked back at his sister who was cooing softly at the inanimate object and he almost let out a surprised chuckle. Just how mysterious are you Zara Payne?
