Samantha warmed up a little bit (something warmer than her former Arctic attitude) to Solomon after the little stunt Zara pulled. Whilst earlier she kept an eye on him in the kitchen with the pretense of cleaning a sink which was squeaking neat, now she moved to the living room and sat in front of the tv.
"So,yeah,...uhm...thanks for..you know.." Zara was a little nervous and fidgety after she came down from her adrenaline high earlier and had suddenly lost her skill of communication. Solomon was sporting an amused expression. He had forgiven her for her brash solicit because there seemed to be no point holding grudges. The girl is volatile as it is.
    "Thanks..for what....?" He pressed on.
She shot him an annoyed glare which screamed I don't have to do this you know, you should count yourself lucky I even considered it.
And he seemed to reply Yeah well you considered it, you might as well get on with it.
She let out train of words under her breath which sounded suspiciously  in foreign tongue but vaguely familiar to him. She looked up to his smirk..... "Thanksforlettingmerideyourbike."
He put two fingers behind his right ear and pushed it forward. "I am sorry, I didn't catch that. What?"
"Thank. You. For. Letting. Me. Ride. Your. Bike." She enunciated every word as if they were physically hurting her. "Why, you're welcome Zara!"He beamed.
"You are enjoying this aren't you?"
"Well it is not everyday you hear words of gratitude from the snobby ice queen herself is it? I will enjoy it while it lasts."
   "Don't get used to it."
"So dramatic." He said with his lips fighting off a grin.
Zara glanced at her watch. 4:48. Crap. "I have to go, don't worry, you will get your extra credits or whatever. I will improve on the next test. I need to refresh before I leave so let yourself out." She started for the stairs but was interrupted by a mildly firm hand tugging at her lower arm. She wrenched her hand from his grip and spun on her heels with murderous eyes and some other emotions swirling around in her eyes like wild hurricanes he couldn't grasp any. He looked a bit flummoxed at first, but then some other thing settled after his confusion subsided. A distant, blank look. A questioning narrowed eye. A rigid posture.
"Are you going on a date?"
     "And you care why?"
  He backed away and shrugged.
"Just curious." Some unknown feeling forced her to elaborate.
"I am off to see someone I haven't seen in a while." She resumes her exit, oblivious to the havoc she caused behind her.

Thirty minutes after she left the house, Zara drove past the town limits. 5:30. It will be dark soon. She drove for thirty more minutes and got off the main road picking up a seemingly abandoned dirt path with tall dense trees at either side of it. After a while, a clearing came to view. More like a part of a ranch house.
For a passerby, it looked like a vast ordinary meadow. But if someone saw closely, they could spot the mouth of the chimney hidden behind the maple trees at the edge of the land.
Zara crossed the clearing and parked her car amongst the bushes. She sat in her vehicle quietly surveying the area. When she finally seemed satisfied by what she saw, she climbed out of the car and walked towards the maple trees and to the house.

Solomon paced his spacious apartment living room with a slight frown etched on his face. It couldn't be. We only had a short time. It is too soon for this. This can't happen now. He palmed his left chest and listened to his racing heart before he angrily wretched at his shirt from his body in frustration. He started to picture the eyes that were staring back at him earlier. The russet eyes filled with hurricane of excitement and something more. This can't happen to me dammit. He took deep breaths before he walked to the bar by the fire place. He poured half a glass of scotch and sat on the cozy looking armchair. He wiped out his phone from his sweats and called an emergency listed number. He looked at his glass and thought, you might need reinforcements tonight. As the line on the other side came to life, he started to talk.

Her soles sunk in the soft wet earth as she made her way around the eerily quiet house. A well kept back yard came to view. She couldn't say the same for the house though. Vines had grown along its walls, like they were gripping at it, trying to swallow it. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it was void of inhabitants.
Zara looked back at the back yard. This looks like a scenario from a bad horror movie. I should have known better than to leave late. Curse you and your stupid credits Solomon Kane. Why couldn't you be a French prodigy too Zara? Weird shadows crept on her so she hurried to the porch and into the yawning entrance of the house. There was only little left of daylight so she knew the basement will be dark. She switched on the flashlight on her phone and took the dark steps underground. The light ate up the darkness in front of her and rested on the huge blue generator at the corner. She fumbled for a while until the machinery roared to life, disturbing the silence. The room was illuminated by four bulbs at each corner. She went back out and to the backyard. She clicked a switch on her side and the lamps on the top of random white washed picket fences flooded the area with light.
Zara trudged towards the center where a piece of metal seemed to reflect off the light. She knelt in front of it and traced her fingers on the words engraved under a picture of young girl. She had dark set of eyes and of Zara hadn't known any better she would have thought them brown. But she knew them to be very dark shades of green with little bit of grey flecks. Jet black voluminous coil of hair rested on her shoulder. Her medium sized perky nose stood proudly over beautifully curved smile. Her beautiful light brown skin was a shade darker than Zara's.She was a happy girl.
The words were screaming for her attention.
Here lies a beloved daughter, sister and fiancée and she will always be remember. May her ever loving soul Rest In Peace.

She jerked her hand upwards and wiped her soaked cheek. Yes you will be missed she thought as she stared at the tombstone. You know what's funny Tsi, the more I push you away from my thoughts the more you occupy them. I have to move on but you don't seem to let go. We both know what is best so save as both the trouble and just go away. You will be treated better there. Trust me. Oh wait! Don't! That's what got you killed, isn't it? Trust? You would be proud of me if you knew that that term is like Mandarin to me. I don't speak it, I don't hear it, I don't understand it. See?! I am learning from your mistakes, my friend. So you have nothing to worry your pretty little dead mind. I want all the memories six feet under btw. So help me out will ya? Okay, if I am here, I might as well tell you about things which you missed.
I got some bugger bugging me since he arrived in the name of some credit or another. I came to think of it; if you had been alive, he would be your type. He is serious about school stuff and everything and my friends-yes you heard right, friends, okay, I am still considering-say he is handsome and other unfitting synonyms although I couldn't relate. His name is Solomon Kane. He came over at my place today to tutor me blah blah. Apparently, I need a French tutor. I know, French tutor. So yeah, that is pretty much what I wanted to tell you. Back to important things, please back off. Sorry for my mood swings. It is just- Zara broke into loud sobs for a good twenty minutes before she collected herself and stood to her full height. She went back inside the house and took mental notes of the tools she will need to fix it up and to call people to fix electricity and other necessities. She finished closing up and went out to her car. She drove back to her house, Tsion's beautiful face smiling down at her, sucking out her neutral vibe replacing it with a painful one.
