Chapter 3

"So... If I do this, you'll promise to bring Nile back?" Orc asked weakly.

"You have my word," the NightWing said, "Now remember who you are."

"A Vengeful-MudWing-Prince here to kill them all."

"Quite right," the NightWing said, "Now go get 'em tiger!"

Orc nodded before taking off into the sky.

He knew he shouldn't believe what the NightWing had said, right Orc?

"But.. He said he'll bring back Nile..."

He lied! No one can bring back the dead!

"But if there's even the slightest chance..."

Look, if there's ANYONE who can bring back Nile, it's the people you're supposed to kill.

"But..."

Look you're not the bad guy. You can become a good guy and help them beat other bad guys, like that lying NightWing.

Orc decided to ignore what the author had said. A horrible decision, all things considered.

Eventually Orc spotted his targets. He let out a shriek of joy before landing in front of the group.

He forcefully lowered his voice before saying, "MWAHAHA I AM THE EVIL ENEMY HERE TO KILL YOU ALL!"

"Bad, no, not good," said a RainWing as she paled to a transparent color.

Everyone but a bright orange GlitterPerfectWing went and hid behind a tree, where they found a SeaWing, because EVERYONE needs to be here for the climax.

"What? The climax? I thought I was the evil villain who became a good guy and helped beat more bad guys," Orc cried.

The GlitterPerfectWing bounced excitedly. "You can break the fourth wall too!?"

Orc blinked. "Um, no," he said in his very forced deep voice.

"Don't worry, It's okay. Hey, I wonder if there is one of us for each tribe..."

"BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I'M GOING TO KILL YOU! MWAHAHAHAHA!"

"But I thought you didn't want to be the bad guy?" the SeaWing said, creeping out from behind the tree, "You don't have to be."

"R- really?" Orc said, his voice wavering.

"Really."

Tears formed in the Orc's eyes. "Thank you. Thank you so much!" A smile stretched across his face and he gave the SeaWing a hug.

"So, I guess you already know our names, what's yours?" the SeaWing asked.

Orc nodded as the author quickly brought him up to speed. Then Orc thought about his next words carefully.

He was no longer Orc, the MudWing with a family who loved him. No...

"Vengeful-MudWing-Prince..." Orc said. Then fiercer, "But you can call me Venge."

- - -

Venge found himself enjoying the time he spent with his new companions. They were friendly, the cared about him.

...Just like Nile had.

Venge started finding it hard to talk to them. What if they got mad at him, just like Nile, right before she...

He didn't finish that thought.

He still hadn't told them about Orc. Only once he had gained their full trust would he tell them that.

"Hey Venge!" A voice he recognized as belonging to the SeaWing he had met that day. Irre.

"Yeah?" The MudWing called back.

"Wanna go hunting with Des and I?"

Des, the GlitterPerfectWing from back then.

Venge smiled. "Sure!" He said.

It would be hard to tell them the truth- the truth about Orc.

But for now? For now things were fine as they were. As good as they could be.

He'd tell them another time.
