2- Isacresenta

Hailey shifted her position in the fold-up chair she pulled out, anxious. When she got home, she went upstairs and cleaned up her old doll house her mom gave her--trying to ignore the once wonderful memories--and after checking the creature's head, tucked it into the little bed. She had this moment to actually observe it, as she was unable to because it was so fast. It had short, raven black hair, and an angular face. Seeing its build, she guessed it was male. He gave off a soft, yellow glow, and his skin was pale. He wore a dirty white shirt and ripped up black leggings.

He mumbled in his sleep and curled up in a fetal position, looking rather vulnerable. The wait seemed excruciatingly long, and soon, Hailey became impatient. She tried to figure out what he was as she waited, curious. Finally, after an eon later, he opened his eyes to reveal electric blue irises that popped against his dull black-and-white attire. He sat up and looked around, perplexed. When he saw Hailey, he yelped and fell out of bed, scrambling backwards to a corner of the doll house, far away from her.

"Oh, no, no, no! It's okay! Shh... Relax. I won't hurt you."

The creature took quick breaths, then glared as he regained control over his lungs. "How can I possibly relax?"

"Uh... I dunno. Here," she held out her hand for him to climb on, "hop on."

He glared down at her hand, then snarled and crossed his arms. "No."

"Okay, that's fine." She kept her hand out for him, just in case he changed his mind. "If I may, what are you?"

"I'll have you know, stupid giant, that I am a fairy, thank you very much!" His eyes were wild as he walked to his bed and sat, back facing her.

"Don't you mean 'fairy' much?" She smiled, giggling at the horrid pun.

He didn't respond, eyes narrowed at her with pure hate that made a chill crawl up her spine.

"Yeah, I know, that was bad." Her smile wiped off her face. "Hey, question: if you're a fairy, where are your wings?"

"Born without 'em." He shrugged carelessly.

"What's your name?"

No answer. He rolled his shoulders a bit.

"Okie-dokie. Well, my name's Hailey Kellermann, and I'm human. By the way, I'm not stupid."

"Don't care."

"Okay. How old are you?"

He looked at her hand, then stood and kicked it.

Hard.

"OW!" She yanked her hand away and shook it. "Geez! For someone your size, you have one powerful kick!"

The fairy growled and crossed his arms again.

"You would be a good soccer player, seriously." She smiled, holding her hand in pain. "Will you please tell me your name and age? I really want to know."

"Why?" He practically spat this out at her.

"Because, I just do. I bet your name is... John. You look like a John to me. Oh no, wait! It's Oliver! You look more like an Oliver than a John."

"What the--? NO! I'm not a John or an Oliver. I am Isacresenta!"

Hailey blinked. Fancy fairy name. Mom would have liked it... "Um... What? That's pretty hard to pronounce. Hmm... Ooh! I know! I'll just call you Isaac. How's that sound?"

Isaac gasped at her. "Are you serious? First you kidnap me, now you're renaming me?! Am I just some stupid pet to you?!"

"What, no! That's not what I--"

"And I bet you have a cat somewhere around here to keep an eye on me, huh? And if I try to escape, you'd just let him eat me!"

"No! I'd never let Roscoe eat you!"

"Ah-ha! I knew it! Oh, those beasts from hell are horrible!" Isaac paced as he continued to shout.

"My cat's not from hell." She began to grow irritated as he stopped and smirked at her.

"Believe me, they are. Being my height with no wings and no stupid parents to turn to, cats are dangerous. They'd eat you when they get the chance!"

"I'll make sure he doesn't."

Isaac scoffed. "Sure, sure."

"I mean it, Isaac."

"That's not my name!" He blurted. "It's Isacresenta to you, stupid!" He scowled, then sat on his bed again, his back facing her once more.

She sighed. "I'll leave you alone to calm down. Then we can talk."

He didn't answer, only glared at the wall in front of him.

"... I want you to know I'm here to help." She closed the doll house and latched it up so Roscoe couldn't get to the wingless fairy, then sat on her bed and began to count to ten minutes, looking around as she did.
