They watch me on the rooftops
they watch me in the parade
They see me hanging laundry up
They see the drums I've played

Eyes are on my public life
Eyes lay low in private too
Though I do not see them back

So I will dance this drama here
and act out my life on this stage
They will never see my fear
locked in their envious cage
