"Hey did you guys feel that weird energy earlier?" Chopper was trying to stop Sanji's nosebleed, failing but trying.

"You mean that weird zapping one?" Luffy was chowing down on some of the bento boxes that Boa had made for him.

"Yeah that one. It felt dangerous but not dangerous at the same time...I don't know if that makes sense."

"Naw it does. That's how it made me feel too. Like it wouldn't hurt you unless you meant someone harm. That's the vibe I got." Zoro was relaxing with his eyes closed about to nap.

"That's strange. Haki doesn't usually feel that way." Robin was reading the paper smiling at her friends.

"What if it wasn't haki? What if it was something else? Like magic? Or a strange power?" Ussop was fixing his bullets.

Zoro smiled. He knew exactly who it'd come from, it'd been the same energy from the cute kid he'd saved earlier that week.

"So she was a marine." He started to wonder why she hadn't turned him in. "She owes me a lunch date." He chuckled and fell asleep.

{Reader's POV}

"All the injured are treated, and the dead are in the morgue. Their families have been notified." You took your hat off and started to wash your hands. Splashing some of the warm water to your face.

"Good job today Dr. L/N. Now I know why Koby and Grount sing your praises all the time. You really are handy in a crisis." Sentomaru was sitting at your desk filing his paperwork, as this wasn't either of one of your ships you were usually on, he didn't have his own office. You'd let him use your temporary desk.

"I appreciate the compliment, but any marine medic can handle this much."

"Not really no. They can't. Out of the 9 I've worked with so far, you are the only one who doesn't cower or flinch when you're confronted with an enemy."

"Pfft. You can blame Vice Admiral Garp for that. I honestly thought I would die if I ever was on a receiving end of one of his punches."

Sentomaru shuddered at that. Shaking his head and shivering.

"Been there done that. Don't wanna repeat."

"My condolences. Captain Koby and Lt. Helmeppo have gotten it quite a few times."

"That's cause they're gluttons for punishment."

"Or they want to test their limits and go beyond it."

It was quiet after that. You'd made your reports as you treated your patients so you didn't have any other paperwork to file. When your den den mushi rang both you and Sentomaru jumped.

"Apologies Captain. Dr. L/N speaking."

"Y/N-Chan!!!!!!!!" Saphi's voice rang in your ear you held the snail away from it for fear she'd burst an eardrum.

"Ouch Saphi we've talked about this. Volume."

You were stunned silent. You hadn't been aware that she'd been dating anyone.

"Didn't she say her wedding is in 3 months?" Sentomaru was equally surprised in that last statement.

——4 Days Later——

{Marine Headquarters}

"Yo Y/N! How did it go?" Grount came up and gave you a fist bump.

"You think we'd be this calm if we'd actually caught the Straw Hats?"

"Fair point. Anything exciting happen?"

"I took care of a slave trader organization by myself. Other than that, nothing really." You couldn't exactly tell him that you'd been saved by Pirate Hunter Zoro, or that he'd invited you to eat with him.

"Aw man. You get all the fun. Oh yeah Koby was looking for you. Said he wanted to tell you something. See ya around."

"Where is he?"

"Where do you think?" Grount walked off and left you on the ramp of Garp's ship. You went to the infirmary, knowing that's where you'd find him.

"Funny." He left your shoulder and perched himself up high, the men and women on the ship had grown accustomed to your familiar, but his sheer size unnerved them still.

"We don't need her! We already have talented people in Sword!" Hibari was there, you grew irritated, never once had you tried to reconcile with her or become her friend, and Vice versa. The only difference was you didn't waste any energy thinking about her or talking falsehoods about her. She on the other hand spread all kinds of rumors about you, none which anyone really believed.

"Hibari. Leave. The decision has already been made."

"You all had a meeting behind my back!"

"You chose not to come and that is no one's fault but your own. Now please leave Y/N-San is here."

Koby's observation haki was getting even stronger then before. You smirked before walking in.

"Good afternoon Captain. Hibari. Are either of you feeling unwell?" You had to keep up appearances after all, she still didn't know about you and Koby. And you wanted it to stay that way. She was good at her job and fulfilled her duties exceptionally well, she just didn't get along with you. And as she was Koby's subordinate and friend, she was an unavoidable irritation.

"Tch. Move I'm leaving." You moved to the side and allowed her space to leave, once she did you waited for Koby to give you the heads up that no one was around anymore. When he did you put up the away sign on the door, so that you wouldn't be disturbed.

"Captain. Grount told me you want-" he slammed his lips onto yours. Backing you up into your desk and laying you across it. It'd been the longest time either of you spent apart from each other since you'd come aboard Garp's ship.

He kissed became needier and more desperate, he trailed his mouth down your jaw and to your collar bone, his hands tracing your hips, belly, and rib cage. His touch sending delicious shivers through you. Your hands were in his hair, gently scraping his scalp with your nails. When he finally came up for air he stared at you and smiled.

"I missed you Y/N!" You smirked and rubbed his member gently your thigh causing him to shiver and leaned further into you. "Arrrg...don't do that..."

"I take it this is a business meeting then?" You wanted to giggle but kept your composure. Koby was a little sensitive to your teasing.

"Unfortunately...but I couldn't help myself. I missed you too much. These weeks away from you were torture."

"I feel the same." You kissed his forehead, and hugged his neck. "I'm back."

"Yeah. Welcome home Y/N." He squeezed tightly, not enough to cut off oxygen, but just tight enough to let you know he did indeed miss you.

"So I overheard part of your conversation with Hibari. Do you want to tell me what it's all about?"

For the next hour, Koby explained what they'd been discussing. And after his explanation you stood there dumbfounded.

"Well that explains a lot actually." Sometimes it seemed like he was holding back from you, when it came to certain situations. But now you knew why.

"I'm sorry Y/N...I never wanted to lie to you, it's just..." you held up your hand to silence him.

"Koby, we're marines. I know that sometimes there are things you can't tell me and Vice versa, and if what you're saying is true and if that is in fact the true purpose of this secret organization. I can understand why you couldn't talk to me about everything."

He stood there, his frown getting deeper on his face. He sighed before walking back to you and hugging you.

"We don't have a normal relationship do we?"

"There are all kinds of relationships Koby. Last time I checked we're not so obsessed with one another that we can't go without each other for a day. We are much better at communicating than we were a year ago, and" you gave him a passionate kiss, the he thankfully reciprocated. "I'd like to think our physical connection is pretty good too." You were breathy at this point. Your body ached to be with him, craving his warmth and touch.

"I'm off tonight." He said already unbuttoning his shirt.
