"Remind me again why we're here?" Yoru was not happy. And neither were you really. Due to your rising notoriety and fame, you were being called to more missions. Some that had been strictly combat and not meant for your main set of skills.

"I guess because the Straw Hats are supposed to show up here."

"Again I ask why we're here?"

"Ugh, you know exactly why we're here Yoru."

"Not my fault."

You begged to differ. You'd made the mistake a few weeks back letting Yoru fly around free, while taking care of incredibly sick children and Yoru had been caught by a Celestial Dragon. But since Yoru can change his form of the situation called for it. He escaped right in front of a group of Celestial Dragons and Nobles and flew straight to you, on your return to the warship.

They'd demanded you give Yoru to them, you simply told them that he was considered part of the Navy and your look out. When told this they fumed and called for an admiral. Luckily enough for you Kizaru vouched for your friend and you'd walked away with merely insults thrown your way.

Your punishment happened when you'd turned to glare and your eyes had glowed violet out of your annoyance towards those who felt they were above the rest of the world.

"Okay ultimately it was my fault."

"She finally admits it! Only took you 4 weeks!!"

You shook your head at him, while this mission wasn't your idea of being productive, it was a nice chance to get away from it all.

"We've got some slavers following us. What do you want to do?"

Draw them away and we'll take care of them out of sight. I don't want innocent people getting hurt.

"Got it. Go left. I'll follow from above and let you know if they're anyone else following you."

You kept your waking calm and steady, you didn't want to alert them that you knew of their presence yet, technically slavery was legal, but you hated it. You and Yoru, always shut down the slave houses you found. Grount helped too when he was around he had way too much fun intimidating the people into silence but it worked out for you.

Many of the people you stopped were found of other crimes that were chargeable, usually not paying the right amount of taxes to the Celestial Dragons. You and Grount also made sure to destroy any and all documents about the people captured to be sold. To make their escape easier, you gave them the option to go into hiding or join the marines. 6 out of 10 people joined, the rest, you had an inkling we're going to join a whole other military altogether. You never stopped them though. It was their choice to make. Something that had been difficult to convince Grount to do.

Thinking of Grount automatically brought Koby to your mind, you hadn't seen him in almost two months. You missed him, even Helmeppo. You fiddled with the bracelet on your wrist, remembering the last time you and Koby talked.

{4 weeks prior}

"Y/N-San! It's time! It's time!" Koby had come bulldozing his way into the infirmary excited and had startled you so bad you'd spilt your tea all over your doctor's coat.

"Time for what?" You started to wipe yourself of the mess.

"Luffy-San is coming back!"

You quickly held up a finger to your lips, you had people sleeping and his shouting was going to wake them up. He covered his mouth with both hands his eyes going wide.

"Straw Hat is? How do you know?"

He took out an article with a photo of said pirate, it was the last photo ever taken of him before he'd gone into hiding almost 2 years ago.

"I don't understand."

"The writing on his arm. See?" He leaned over your shoulder now, the action causing an immediate reaction from you, with your face heating up. Thankfully he couldn't see it due to your hat hiding your face. "It reads 3Dwith an X going through the D and 2Y!"

It did, it was a clever way to send a message that's for sure.

"I see, are you hoping to say hello?"

"What? No! I'm not ready to meet Luffy-San again! I'm just happy that he'll be striving to his dream! I can never hope to catch up!"

"You never will with that attitude. You are you, and Straw Hat Luffy is Straw Hat Luffy what good will it do to compare yourself to someone when everyone is different?"

He smiled at you then and patted your shoulders.

"Thanks Y/N-San."

"Don't mention it." You smirked back, making the young Captain smile even wider.

{Present}

"Y/N. They're about to attack! Move two steps to the left in 5 seconds!"

You counted and did as instructed. After 5 seconds you moved to your left.

"One big step forward and then go to your right. Once you do that I'll knock them off the trees. The rest of up to you."

You did as instructed and then you heard Yoru swoop and dive. Not five seconds later 6 men fall down, you heard bones break as they landed, you didn't feel too bad for them though. You reached out with your fingers, and once you connected with their foreheads, they were then knocked out.

"This ability is good for healing and attacking...to a certain extent."

"Y/N!! I missed one! Run!"

You turned just as the last man had an axe raised at you, you crossed your arms, and waited for impact. Suddenly you felt another presence, one you didn't recognize, they blocked at axe and sent the guy flying. 

You landed on your butt. Yoru came down squaking his apologies.

"Hey miss you okay?" A hand was stretched out to you, looking you went wide eyed.

"Hey aren't you Pirate Hunter Zoro?" You tried to keep as calm as possible, and not speak too loudly.

"I am. Need a hand." You didn't but accepted it nonetheless, when you stood, you patted the dirt off of you, and then bowed to the pirate.

"Thank you. I would be dead if it wasn't for you."

"Don't mention it. You and your raven took out majority of them. That guy was lying in wait."

You nodded your head and bowed again.

"Still thanks here." You handed him a small punch of money. "Your next meal and drinks are on me. Have a nice day."

"He was different. It's a good thing you weren't wearing your marine outfit I doubt he would've saved you."

"True. But he did I have him a meal. We should be squared."

"Then why is he following us?"

You spun around and came nose to chest, a shot of pain going through your nasal canal.

"Ooof."

"Whoops, my bad. Eating and and drinking alone is no fun. Wanna join me?"

Is he being serious?

"Oh sorry, but my comrades are waiting for me, and I've actually kept them waiting longer than I should've." You spoke in your flat, monotone voice. Have a slight bow, Yoru cawed and you started walking back to the inn you were staying at.

"He still following us?"

"Naw, just staring after us. So what's for dinner?"

{4 days later}

"Eh??! You met Zoro-San!!!!!????" Koby yelled into your ear, making you wince at the sudden increase in volume. And Yoru jolted awake.

"Captain Koby, please don't yell. You just scared the crap out of my bird." You kept your voice neutral in case someone was listening in on the conversation.

"Sorry sorry. Hehehe, I'm glad Zoro-San seems to be doing well! And he saved your life. It was very nice of your to buy him a meal."

"Didn't feel like owing him anything. And I remembered you told me he likes sake, so I figured it was a safe bet."

"Have you seen Luffy-San yet?"

"No and we have lots of people looking too."

"And you how've you been doing?"

"I helped a few medical offices out a few days, and helped them pay for their medicines they needed, and donated some money to open a couple of schools for the kids."

"Hehehehe. That is what I expected. When you come back to Garp's ship we should get together and catch up properly."

Your heart gave a squeeze and you smirked, however you made sure to keep the happiness from your voice and stay in your usual tone.

"Sounds good. I gotta go, I'm supposed to go with   Captain Sentomaru here in a little bit. I'll talk you later. Stay safe Captain Koby."

He was silent for a few moments before you heard the emotion in his voice.

"You too Y/N-San."

After hanging up, you grabbed your doctors bag and headed out.

"You okay?"

"Yeah I just miss him. More than I can describe."

"It's okay, I feel it. I miss him too."

{5 hours later}

"This is pandemonium, that's isn't even the real Straw Hat." You deadpanned, Sentomaru nodded  his head in agreement, he swung his gigantic axe over his shoulder, and went out to intercept the imposter.

"Oh it's Boss!!"
"Kick their asses Bosd Straw Hat."

"Straw Hat" looked terrified, as did his companions behind him.

"Why are they calling you Straw Hat Luffy?" Sentomaru seemed annoyed by this. You didn't catch what the imposter had said, thanks to the PX-5's, the number of pirates was dwindling making it easier for you and Yoru and a handful of other soldiers to collect your injured, and your dead.

A loud band had you looking back to Sentomaru, who'd brought down the blunt part of his ace but still at full power.

"STRAW HAT WAS NOT A PIECE OF TRASH LIKE YOU! PX-5! WHO IS THIS MORON?!"

After it was revealed that the man was in fact not Straw Hat Luffy but a pirate called "Triple Tongued Demalo Black," the surrounding pirates started to lose morale and began rereating.

You saw one of the machines shoot off a few shot towards the start of Grove 46, and the person who came out unscathed was none other than Monkey D. Luffy.

He dodged the Pacifista's lasers, and then coated his fist in haki.

Someone didn't waste anytime for the last two years apparently.

"Hey Luffy!"

Pirate Hunter Zoro and Black Leg Sanji joined their captain but not before cutting up another Pacifista.

"I will not be taken! I will not be made a fool of."

A shiver ran down your spine, and you looked up from your patient to see a Pirate known as Caribou looming over you.

"Aren't you a cutie~ With you, I can escape from here!"

His body started to turn to goo, you went back to helping the soldier who's head was in your lap.

"Stay with me soldier. You're not down yet."

"Did you not hear me girl?"

"I did but I'm a little busy right now, and I can't be bothered. So if you want to start running I'm not going to stop you. But I'm going to ask that you leave me alone."

You returned to your whole focus to your task.

"You know who I am woman?"

"Annoying. Screw off."

"Hey Y/N, he looks pissed."

"Don't worry. I'm about to hit him with it."

"In front of everyone?"

"They're all focused on the Straw Hats. No one is even looking at me. And this pirate isn't going to remember anything and if he does; whose going to believe him?"

"Alright."

You focused your haki, in your eyes and then your hands. With one hand still on your patient, you moved the other one towards the pirate about to attack you. Your hand started to glow violet almost purple, and you thought of a shape, you decided to go with a sparrow. Once the shape was made, it flew into a couple of pirates and knocked them all out.

Your other hand still on the young soldier was glowing a very light blue, once the distraction was gone, you imagined several snakes and they slithered all around to those injured and close to death and started to heal them.

I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow.

You watched as the Straw Hatd flew towards their ship, and you couldn't help but think Koby would be geeking out right about now.

"Welcome back Straw Hats."

Hello!!! It's been a while since I updated this story! I was feeling inspired for it, and I have a general idea of how the rat of the story is going to play out.

I'm still excited to see how Koby's character in the series will grow! I want to see him kick ass soon!

For reader's powers I was imagining it was a mix between the Naruto verse medics and Ty-Lee from Avatar the Last Airbender's chi blocking techniques.

I don't know when I'll next update this story, probably the next time I feel inspired!
