This chapter will be in Koby's POV!!! (Except for the beginning portion). We are about to get real emotional here!!!! I will probably write maybe 3 more chapters before I go on a hiatus with this story. I want to see where Oda takes his story and if we get more Koby in this next arc.

On an island

"Hey boss! Did you hear that Akainu guy is the new Fleet admiral for the Marines, and apparently there was an assassination attempt. They tried to blame us for it!"

"What did you say?! Give me that!" Eustass "Captain" Kid began to read the article. A lot of it was what the procedures had been for those who went to officiate the match between the two titans. When he got to the part of the assassin is when he read aloud for Killer to hear.

"Upon arriving back to Marineford, the first thing everyone saw was the triumphant Akainu Sakazuki, although scarred his shoulders were broad and proud: however, something almost happened to the new Fleet Admiral. According to Major General Dr. L/N Y/N, when she was making her rounds, she saw an assailant attempt to enter Akainu's quarters with a knife in hand. She made a move to stop the person but ended up with a broken hand, and was almost blinded in her right eye. When asked if it had been the Kid pirates, who were rumored to be in the same tide, Dr. L/N responded with this: "This was the work of a coward. Someone who wasn't brave enough to face Fleet Admiral Akainu head on so attempted to murder him in his sleep. Eustass "Captain" Kid is many things. However he is not a coward."

"Damn, whoever did it sure left a number on her poor face." Heat commented after seeing the photo.

"Yeah...too bad she's cute too. If she doesn't have a boyfriend or lover right now, she may not find one ever." Wire commented.

"What's wrong with women having scars?" Killer was genuinely curious.

This girl looked familiar, she reminded him of that medic that had called for Aokiji. He took a pencil and drew a hat on her head, it was her!

"Well I'll be damned." Kid chuckled.

"What boss?"

"Remember that medic chic on Garp's ship, the one who called for Aokiji but it turned out to be bullshit?"

"Oh yeah, you were heated about that for a good week."

"This is her." He showed them the drawing over her photo. They all whistled. "Hahaha I guess she can live if we ever run into her again. I can respect a marine who'd openly admit that we're not cowards. Maybe one day Dr. Y/N we'll meet again."

Kid was in a significantly better mood than the morning. But he did feel a tad bad for her, he could see the bottom part of the wound. It was going to be a large scar on her cute face.

"Shame."

~Koby's POV~

It'd been a week since you spoke to him. He couldn't get you to talk long enough to gage your mood. You went back to how you were before you'd confessed your feelings for him. Distant, aloof, blunt and then gone.

He wasn't expecting anyone else to really tell the difference though. If anything you'd been a hot topic, and people just assumed you were getting fed up with the attention.

He walked to Garp's office when he heard you and the old man talking.

"Akainu offered you a position serving as his personal physician? Are you going to take it?"

What? But that means...

Koby would never see you again if that were to happen.

"No sir. I explained that I was of more use in the field. He wasn't thrilled but he understood. We're short staffed we need medics here not hauled up safely away."

"Damn right! How's your eye? You said you weren't blind."

"No sir I am not. It'll scar though."

"Bastard!"

"Will it bother you sir?"

"What? No of course not! But you're still so young. What will your lover think?"

"I don't..."

"Don't even try lying to me young lady. I know you and Koby are a couple."

Koby face palmed himself. Of course Garp knew. Why did he think he could hide it from him, Koby hadn't been exactly subtle in his feelings for you either.

"I don't deserve someone who is as bright as the sun."

Koby wanted to cry when he heard you say that. You sounded so defeated when you said it, worse of all you sounded like you believed it. But it wasn't true! He needed you in his life. The month you'd been away had been absolute hell. If you broke up with him, and he still had to see you everyday, that would be torture.

"Y/N, we need the sun and the moon. One cannot exist without the other."

"He existed just fine before I was here."

"True but now he's a better man with you. Than without you. You have 7 more weeks of being off. Try to sleep, you look exhausted. You have your first therapy session with Tsuru right? Good luck."

Koby couldn't move, he heard you moving towards him but he couldn't get his feet to move. When he heard you gasp is when he finally looked up. Shame, guilt, and hurt crossed your features.

"I'm sorry." He heard you whisper. And then you walked off away from him, leaving the door to Garp's office open. When the old man went to close it he saw him.

"Koby? Did you...?" Koby nodded his head. "She hasn't gone anywhere, not yet. She's trying to cope right now son. Killing someone up close isn't easy for someone who's purpose is to save lives."

She killed someone? What was he talking about?

"Vice Admiral Garp. What are you talking about?"

"She...she hasn't told you anything?"

"We've barely said a word to each other since she's been back."

"That girl is more stubborn than Sengoku I swear. Come in boy. We need to talk."

Koby listened to the old man speak for an hour. He now understood why you were acting the way you were. He needed to see you, he needed to tell you that he still loved you.

We can fix this. We can get past this.

Before he did anything else. He went to the town and went to go buy something special.

~3 hours later~

Koby decided to wait in your room, he was sitting on your windowsill staring at the moon. It was at a half crescent, but it was bright even being surrounded by darkness. He felt your approach at the start of the dock, it took all his will power to not go grab you and drag you away somewhere more private but this would have to do.

As you approached closer and closer, the more nervous he felt. He wasn't sure how you take him knowing what really happened that night. More than anything he wanted you to see that he didn't think of you any different.

The door opened and clicked shut. You walked towards the bedroom, opened the door than shut it. Then you froze.

"Koby...come out." You called him Koby, a good sign. And now he was sure of it.

"You awakened observation haki Y/N. I'm so proud of you. I knew you could do it. I knew it would happen after you'd beaten me."

Koby noticed you flinched at the mention of you awakening it, but chose not to draw attention to it.

"Y/N please, sit with me. Talk to me please, just give me 5 minutes. If after 5 minutes you still don't want to talk to me...I'll go." Again you flinched. 

Koby sat back down with you still standing there with your arms crossed. But you slowly made your way over to him. It was until you sat next to him and brought your legs under you that he relaxed a little bit.

"How did it go with Tsuru-San?" You shrugged your shoulders.

"Okay I guess. I go back tomorrow."

"I see and did you tell her?" You face snapped back to him.

"Tell her what?" He wanted to say it right then and there but couldn't bring himself to do it just yet.

"About us." He didn't miss how your shoulders visibly relaxed.

"No...she asked if I had someone special and I said no. I don't know how convincing I sounded."

"So I'm still someone special to you then?"

You turned to him and what you did next threw him off. You threw your arms around his neck and squeezed you did it so fast and sudden he almost fell to the floor.

"Koby..." he felt tears fall onto his neck. He grabbed you tightly. He too started to cry. "Koby please....I'll tell you everything just please don't say goodbye right away..."

What him say goodbye? What the hell? He tried to pull you away from him to face him. But you just gripped tighter. He could've easily overpowered you but he wouldn't. You stood abruptly and had your back to him the moonlight being the only thing that lit the room.

When you went to take your bandages off he all but stopped breathing. With each release of a layer you tensed, finally the final one fell to three floor. There was a little blood still, he was terrified but not because he would see a scar, but of how you would see yourself now that you had a scar. Your fists were clenched, your shoulders tense, you turned fast, your hair flowing around you.

He was breathless. Your E/C, didn't fade from the injury, it was a clean straight line starting just above your eyebrow, and stopping right by your lip. It would fade yes, but always be noticeable.

"Oh Y/N..." he stood and cradled your face in his hands. "You're still so beautiful."

"Koby I need to tell you the real reason I got this..."

"Uh yeah, Garp already told me."

"He did?" Koby nodded his head.

"I think it's time I tell you something. Cause with what happened you're going to be involved now."

You tilted your head to him, but then just snuggled in close, taking in his scent.

"Can we sleep first and talk tomorrow? I've had enough with emotions and revelations for one night."

"I'll leave you to bed then." But he couldn't move, you gripped tighter.

"Um would you sleep next to me? Just for tonight?" You looked up at him with misty eyes and a flushed face. Koby couldn't take it anymore, he kissed you. Your lips moved against each other, tongues fighting for dominance over each other. Hands caressing each other.

When the two of you separated, he felt his member grow.

"I missed you Y/N..."

"I missed you too. I'm sorry for being a bitch when I came back."

"I forgive you but uh, I don't think it's a good idea for me to sleep next to you?"

"Huh why?" No sooner did you ask then when he felt his erection touch your stomach. Your face turned even more red.

"Um can't we sleep back to back then..? I really need to be close to you tonight..."

Koby gave in. He went to his bunk to quickly change into his pajamas, and then rushed back to your side. When he got there, you were already in the bed, you pajamas also on. He slid in and you both laid down with your back facing his.

"Good night Koby."

"Good night Y/N."

It wasn't 5 minutes before you fell asleep Koby turned to face your back. He ran his fingers through your hair, this action made you turn to face him. You'd put a bandaid on where your wound still bled, but the rest of your scar was showing.

He thought about the rings he'd bought. They weren't wedding bands, or even all that fancy. They were black with silver suns and moons. He planned to gift you the one with suns and he had every intention of keeping the one with moons. You were his moon that lit up the night sky: and he would do his very best to remain your sun to keep you warm and safe.

"I love you Y/N." He kissed your forehead, and cuddled you close. Both of you having the most restful sleep in a very long time.

In the next few chapters we will learn just what happened that night Reader was attacked, and we'll be seeing Doflamingo soon as well: dun dun dun. And maybe we'll see the Surgeon of Death as well.
