This chapter is going to be a series of scenarios that happen in between events in the story. I'll try to keep them chronological but no promises 😅. {The first few weeks aboard Garp's ship}

"Are you sure?" You nodded to the young girl who'd come in to see you about a bladder infection. Turns out the reason why was because
she had a condom stuck up her vagina. Apparently, her boyfriend wore a condom that's been too big, and it'd fallen off at some point during the act. The things you saw as a doctor.

"I'm going to give you a slight sedative to help you relax you'll still feel some of it, but I promise to be as quick as possible. I'm also going to hang some antibiotics in your IV to help combat the infection quicker. Let me go to put up a sign so no one else comes in."

"O-okay." She looked like she wanted to cry.

"There's no reason to be embarrassed. It's good you're getting it taken care of. But you'll need to refrain from sex for about 4 weeks longer if the infection lingers. Be right back."

Just as you were about to lock the door the pink-haired Captain appeared on the other side. You opened the door a smidge.

"Sorry Captain I have a patient with a delicate situation. I'm going to have to ask you to come back later."

"Oh alright, I'll stand guard too just in case."

You put the "Do Not Disturb" sign and then closed and locked the door. Placing your gloves on and mask to help with whatever smell there was, you removed the used condom and told her to stay overnight so that the medicine could work better. You ordered her food then proceeded to open the door again.

The Captain was still there but now he was joined by another young soldier which you could only assume was the young girl's boyfriend.

"Doc is she okay?"

"Yes. She'll give the details herself. I ordered her food and she'll be staying overnight."

"I thought you said she was okay?!" He started to yell. You winced at the volume.

"Jay?" You heard her call from the bed and he rushed to her shoving you out of the way into the door frame. You shook it off and turned to the Captain. He was glaring in the direction the other guy walked off to.

"Was there something you needed sir?"

"Mmm no, I wanted to know if you had any questions about the way we do things on board. If you do I can answer any question." He smiled anew.

"I can figure it out just fine thank you. Good day."

You closed the door and spoke to the couple in detail about other birth control options. Which had both of them red as tomatoes. The guy looked particularly embarrassed when you told him he needed to find smaller condoms cause the ones he had were too big.

Another day another patient. Only this time it was Captain Koby himself. His eyes were almost swollen shut and he had bruises everywhere.

"I take it sparring got a little violent with Vice Admiral Garp?" You started to rub your belladonna mixture on his face to start the numbing before you sliced into his eyes to help with swelling. He winced at your movements, you attempted to be a little more gentle than you already were, but it was going to hurt either way.

"I was trying something, and I didn't figure it out before his fist connected to my nose."

"Ouch."

"Very much so." He chuckled only to make a pained noise at the attempt.

"I've numbed the area you'll still feel a little pain but once I make the incision, I'll flood it with general anesthesia to help with the pain. And then you'll be given antibiotics. No more sparring for at least 3 days."

"Sounds good Y/N-San."

He had a high pain tolerance you found out barely flinching when you cut into his eyelid. You wrapped his eyes and let him lay there for an hour, after that hour the young soldier whose girlfriend had come due to her infection stormed in.

"I need to speak with you L/N!"

"Please don't raise your voice in the infirmary, or I will ask you to leave." He pressed his lips together in a tight line, taking a deep breath before daring to open his mouth again.

"My girlfriend just told me that she couldn't have sex for 4 weeks. What the hell is that about?"

You gave him a deadpanned look, but never-the-less you shook your head.

"I will not give you her medical information. You two aren't married therefore you have no right to it. If you want details go talk to her about it. Now unless you have an injury of some sort please leave."

"Not until you give me some damn answers!!" He yelled and you had it, without any warning you hit the vagus nerve and he promptly passed out. You dragged him away from the main area and tossed him on the bed grunting during the whole process.

"You okay Y/N-San?"

"Yeah, please stay put for a little while longer. I'll soon take off the bandages and then you'll be able to sleep normally. Sorry about the noise."

"No worries you made sure he wasn't disruptive long enough for me to care. Hehehe"

You left it at that then went about your day thinking about when you should go scuba diving next.

The next day you saw that same soldier battered and beaten, he'd received three broken ribs, and a fractured wrist. Apparently, he'd sparred with Garp as well and this damage was done by a single punch.

Remind me to never cross that crazy old fart, I think I'd die.

<Koby and Helmeppo at the restaurant after Reader left for the beach>

"You went too far Helmeppo-San!" Koby had come back from your side not 5 minutes before, annoyed at his friends for 1, not being very apologetic and 2, he'd started to eat the food he'd made you leave behind.

"Not like what I said wasn't true." He continued to chew and drink. Koby swatted him across the head, causing his friend to choke on his drink. "What the hell Koby?"

"You hurt her feelings."

"So what? If she can't handle a little bit of truth then she shouldn't even be here."

Koby growled at his friend but before he could say anything else, the barmaid came over and gave Helmeppo a bill.

"What's this for?"

"You're eating that food right, seems only fair that you should pay for it."

"What? Did the girl before already pay?"

"I don't like people who make others feel like crap because they're insecure about themselves. That girl was relaxed and enjoying herself before you two came in and basically called her a nuisance. And yet she left without a fuss or fighting back. So as your punishment for being an ass you can pay for the food that she was supposed to eat before you came and ruined her appetite. The poor thing doesn't look like she eats enough as it is. Enjoy the food and don't ever come back after tonight. Either of you."

Three hours later Koby debated on whether or not to stop by and see you he'd been standing by the door for a good 10 minutes when he finally got the courage to knock no answer came; he found that odd cause you always made sure the doors were unlocked just in case an emergency happened.

"Y/N-San? Hello?"

No answer meaning you weren't back yet which worried him a little bit. He used his observation haki to check for your presence on the ship and nothing. Just as he was about to go to search for you, he felt you coming aboard with Vice Admiral Garp coming in behind you. He quickly left the infirmary and decided he would speak to you tomorrow about what had transpired earlier. Hastily hiding in the dark corridor and waiting to see you inside, he nearly laughed aloud when Garp-San had scared you. Turns out you were a bit of a scaredy-cat, he found that somewhat adorable.

"What happened to your ear?" He heard the Vice-Admiral say.

"Nothing I'll be back with your dosage."

She's hurt? She was physically fine when she walked away from me.

He waited for Garp-San to leave the infirmary, before leaning on the door and memorizing your aura so it would be easier to find you. As he stood there the more he took your aura in the more he relaxed. You were calm, quiet, and tranquil and he relished in its soothing quality for a little longer before eventually leaving to fall into a deep slumber.

<Y/No's Promotion Ceremony>

Garp had wanted to surprise Y/N, so he made sure to get everything together for her promotion ceremony while she was onshore, he needed at least 2 other Vice Admirals to sign off on it though. Luckily Momonga and Strawberry were on the island as well and he gave them each a quick phone call.

After about 30 minutes he heard a knock on his door and in came the two men both with their perpetual frowns.

"Hey, you two! How're you holding up?"

"Fine." They both answered.

"Good good, will you both read these please and let me know what you think?"

He handed them each a folder, showing your progress and work ethic since joining his ship, along with your most recent achievements also listed. The reasons as to why he and Koby believed that you deserved this.

"L/N Y/N...I swear I've heard her name before." Momonga was seriously thinking about it.

"She was the main emergency medic for the war."

"No I mean, something else I've heard about her."

Uh-oh.

"The Ghoul Doctor. Hasn't she been transferred more than anyone in the Navy?"

"She has but that's solely based on that people didn't like her personality. The transfers had nothing to do with her abilities as a medic."

"Hmm, that seems childish. If she's a good medic and she's useful in the field and thrives in chaotic situations, that's exactly what we need." Momonga concluded. "I have no issues signing on the promotion."

"Me either." Both Strawberry and Momonga signed the document.

"Alright I've reserved the biggest pub in town for the after-party, now I just need to assemble every one from our ships to attend."

"Why do you need ours to be present?"

"To teach the youngsters a lesson." He smiled.

-At the pub after the promotion ceremony-

"So the person we're supposed to be celebrating isn't even showing up?" Helmeppo commented. Causing Grount and Koby to swivel their heads all around to look for you.

"Seems that way. But then again she doesn't like big crowds. This was more for Garp to stuff his face and not have to pay for it out of his own pocket." Grount spoke with his cheeks bulging with food like a chipmunk.

Koby had been moving his food around for a while. Her speech had been dry and to the point. She didn't fight the promotion, but she didn't seem too excited either. Maybe he should've left well enough alone.

"Whatchya thinking about boy?" Garp's voice cut through his thoughts making him jolt in his seat. "I hope you're not depressed about our little Ghost Doctor not showing up. I didn't honestly expect her to." He smiled and patted his soldier.

"Don't worry about it Koby, just go see her tomorrow and chat with her. Or you know just do what you've been doing." Helmeppo's statement made Koby raise an eyebrow at him. "Just do the secret stalker thing that you've been doing." He snickered at his friend turning red from embarrassment.

"I DO NOT STALK HER! SECRETLY OR OTHERWISE!!!"

"Then what do you call trying to be wherever she's at all the time? And actively seeking her out."

"I call it looking for the girl I want to be friends with."

"I call it looking for the girl you're falling for." Both Koby and Helmeppo made a quick turn of their heads to stare wide-eyed at their comrade. "Did you not know you liked her?"

"Of course I like her! She's a great medic and soldier. She helps even though people talk bad about her."

"That's not what I meant Koby. I meant that you want to hug her, play with her hair, kiss her lips. That kind of like."

Koby's face took on a whole new color of red that Grount had never seen before he almost laughed but seeing his friend's face and how he was reacting it was clear that he wasn't aware of his feelings and mistaking love for friendship.

This is going to be a long love story in the making. Good luck you two!
