Jungkook jolted awake in a cold sweat.Ever since the engagement he had never had a good night's sleep.His therapist had told him it was sheer guilt that was eating him up day and night and he couldn't deny it.After a while of hesitation he resorted to taking sleeping pills and drinking right before going to bed.He would take his sleeping pills with a half glass of whiskey.Only then he would be able to sleep like a baby.

Unfortunately on most days he would be too exhausted after a long day of work and forget about this routine.Those pills were his own secret because he had never gotten a perception for that.He could access any kind of medication he wanted.Perks of being a doctor.

Jeon Jungkook was depressed but he would never admit to it.Not to anyone or to himself.He didn't want to feel vulnerable.

Slowly he pulled himself into a sitting position and brushed his brown hair from his face.With one hand behind his neck he glanced at his bedside clock and realised that he had woken up half an hour earlier.There was nothing for him to do around his apartment so he had to get ready for work.Hid life literally resolved around the hospital.It was like his second home and he didn't mind coming back at midnight or have regular night shift.

The difficult part of his day was having to avoid Lisa for what he did to her.She couldn't understand that Jungkook had nothing to do with the sudden engagement.Neither him or Taehyung had seen it coming.The omega didn't mean to be the reason why his two favourite people in the world broke up.Lisa was broken but it was hard to figure Taehyung out.He was cold , nonchalant and never showed his emotions for the world to see.At least he didn't make it obvious that he hated him.Working with him wasn't awkward either.

Before Jungkook got off his bed he took his eyeglasses and wore them.He couldn't see properly without them and that was his major flaw.He had been four eyed since he was only five.Through elementary , middle school , high school and even med school he had been called nerdy amoung other unpleasant names.He couldn't say that he wasn't affected by them because he was a very emotional omega.Little things would easily get to him and hurt his feelings.Everyone around him had told him that it was a weakness and he ought to get rid of it.Up to date he was still struggling.

He strode over to his full length mirror and looked himself.He had junior doctor bags under his eyes.He wondered if there was ever someone who would find him attractive when he wakes up like this every morning.

He was Jeon Jungkook the omega who got everything on a silver platter.That was not entirely true though.Jungkook had worked his ass off to get where he was today.He hadn't gotten into med school through connections like other kids from wealth families.His father treated him differently from his brother because he was an omega.The omega made it his life goal to earn his strippes and proved that being an omega didn't make him weak.His intelligence was his greatest assets and that was why his father gave him a chance at getting a better education.

He was also famous for taking the road that was least travelled.Believe it or not he was the only male omega who was in the neurology department.His dear mother couldn't stop bragging about it to her friends.Many alphas out there had a mentality that made many omegas sick.An omega's place was at home but not Jungkook.At 30 he had completed a hundred successful surgies.That milestone got his father's attention.It was like a slap across his wrinkled skin.

Maybe he turned out so well because Taehyung had been his direct superior and mentor from day one.And that man was the only thing Jeon Jungkook he had gotten on a silver platter.Whoever talked at him regarding that fact was absolutely right and he wasn't proud about it.

Many people thought he had his life in order.He had a good job and he earned well.His family was well off and now he would be getting married to a rich heir and a man that any submissive rank would want to have all to themselves.

Shaking his thoughts off he breathed in a closed his eyes for a second.He had learnt a perfect routine to clear his head.Yoga and exercises did wonders for his body and mind.

On the mirror there were sticky notes that always reminds him what needs to be done in case he is too tired to remember.The first sticker reminded him to take his heats suppressants.And the other was written "moving out.He sighed at that note.He and Taehyung had been engaged for over a year and he still felt as though it was too soon for them to move in together.Another thing that was weighing down his mind was that their wedding date had been set and it was only a month away.A freaking month and everything would change for him.

His name and the life he knows would change.He kept wondering why Taehyung hadn't done anything to stop the wedding.He looked more than capable of going against his father.If he had genuinely loved Lisa then he would have taken a stand for their relationship and fought for it.If only he had put his guts into use.In this case he had turned out into a coward just like Jungkook.

After clearing his head once more Jungkook doved into the shower and took his time showering.Once he was done with his morning routine he looked himself once again and realised that something was missing.His engagement ring.It was a real mystery that after all this while he couldn't get  used it.It was heavy as hell and he was sure it would mean something to him if Taehyung had picked it himself.He laughed at himself for being silly.Kim Taehyung would never waste his precious time.

With a wry smile he slid the ring on his finger and went for his breakfast.It wasn't anything much.A cup of coffee and toast.On some days it would be cereal,a glass of milk and an apple.One thing about Jungkook was that he liked to keep everything about his life simple despite having so much.He never liked drawing attention to himself.

As far as being tired down was concerned , Jungkook had never thought it would happen to him.He had considered a marriage a total waste.His oldest friend Jimin had gotten married right after graduating and the worst happened to him.He got married into a family that was strictly when it comes to omega regulation.He wasn't allowed to work.His job was to take care of his alpha and their pups.Despite that Jimin loved Yoongi so much that he made that sacrifice without any hesitation.The pair was still happy and had welcomed three children since then.

Honestly speaking Jungkook was repulsed by the idea.He was too passionate about his job to just sacrifice it like that.If Taehyung were to do that to him then he would see it to that hell fire rains.He would kill anyone if need be.That job was everything to him.It made him who he was.
