Man, who knew that secretly setting up a nuclear war between the U.S.A and the USSR would be so boring? After we got the Russians to agree to set up missiles in Cuba, all we've done is sit around on the sub and wait. I've suggested that we at least try break Emma out or at least surface and do SOMETHING while we wait, but clearly I'm the only one that thinks so.

Janos and I were sitting next to each other as we worked on the sub, so I decided to play with him a little bit. Hey, it's better than doing nothing, right?

"Jannoooss," I say, trying to sound like a little child, leaning my head on his shoulder, "I'm bored."

"That's not good," he says, laughing a little.

"Pay attention to me," I press on.

"I can't right now. I need to focus on the sub, and so should you."

"But you're more interesting than the sub. Surely Tempest and Azazel can take care of it for a little."

"Alyssa, not now. Maybe another time."

"Okay, I give," I say, "but I'm going to hold you to that."

We continue to work in silence, throwing in a few jokes here and there until we could finally just relax in the other room and see how progress was going on the news. From what it sounds like, the missiles are almost to Cuba, and the Americans aren't thrilled about that. They had decided to set up an embargo line around Cuba and blow up the ship if it crosses the line, which in turn will lead to retaliation from the Soviet Union. Looks like things are playing well into our favor.

"So, what post-war plans are there, assuming Shaw doesn't give us something to do?" I ask.

"Well, I'm thinking on taking the prettiest mutant out to wherever she wants," he responds.

"Do I know her?" I ask, dramatically gasping.

"I'm looking right at her," he says, pulling me close to him. "So, where do you want to go?"

I think for a moment, but I had no idea where I wanted to go. "Let's see what's not too badly destroyed," I answer, "then I'll let you know."

~Time skip to the day before the beach scene because plot or something~

"Get ready everyone. By this time tomorrow, our war will have begun." Shaw says.

"And about time, too." I whisper to Janos.

"What about the telepath and his team of mutants? I'm assuming they'll try to stop us." Tempest says.

"They won't be a problem," Shaw answers, "not against us. Right now we prepare for tomorrow. I've already sent Azazel to make sure the ship crosses the line."

We all nod and go to prepare for the war. I don't exactly know what we'll be doing other that stopping the other mutants, but hey, maybe we'll get in on some of the fun the humans will be having. Then after that, I get to spend time with Janos at wherever sounds fun when the war's over. Tomorrow is going to be a great day
