After the whole debacle between the sisters, the group of four had managed to escape the police department unnoticed. Jaune drove the truck, while Yang sat in the passenger, Ruby and Pyrrha stayed in the back, the spartan aiding Ruby.

"Are you okay?" Pyrrha asked.

Ruby stayed quiet for a moment before speaking.

"There have only been a few times I've ever been so eager to kill someone." She said, dodging the question. "I can't decide if this is one of those times."

"What do you mean?"

"They hurt me, Pyrrha. All of them... but that bastard Taiyang... he hurt me the most..." Ruby raised her legs to hug herself but winced at her aching leg. "Qrow he hurt me too, but Yang Branwen Xiao Long... I don't know. She's... I'm uncertain." There was a beat before she spoke again.

"Can I sit on your lap?" The redhead asked.

Pyrrha just smiled before scooting over to the little Reaper. She picked her up carefully before setting her down on her lap.

"Thank you..." Ruby snuggled into Pyrrha's warm embrace, the Spartan's arms wrapping around her.

In the front, the two blondes listened to their counterpart's conversation.

Back at Beacon, where the great and powerful Oz watched over the world in his tower, the old man was currently watching from his tower.

He watched from the glass, drinking from his mug of coffee. There had been a news report of a scenario somewhere in downtown Vale. Journalists were claiming there was a fight, others claim it was an explosive due from the craters and damage.

But he knew better.

Blue Karma has a range, hence its transparent 'bubble' that engulfs the area. Anything inside of that bubble was the users game. Telekinesis, teleportation, healing, etc, etc. anything was possible as long as it was inside of that metaphorical bubble.

And he sensed that wave of energy. That sensation of clashing wills and Karmas, both trying to overpower one another.

Red and Blue.

He sighed, he could only assume what had happened.

DING!

But that would have to wait.

"Glynda," he greeted, never turning away from the window. "While it's not unusual for you to come in unannounced, that usually means something has happened?" He turns taking a sip of coffee. "What brings you..."

There at the elevator, Glynda as he assumed, along with another person who seemed quite injured.

Qrow.

Who was missing an arm.

"Heya Ozzy." the alcoholic greeted with a hint of dryness.

"Qrow, what happened?!" Ozpin rushed forward, his eyes glowing with Karma, preparing to heal the old man.

"Oh you know, the usual. Travelin' around, getting shit for being a homo, lost my lead on Salem," Glynda helps the drunk forward, allowing him to lean on her.

Qrow's legs gave out and he fell, Glynda, trying to help him. Ozpin kneeled by the huntsman, his hands glowing blue as he set out to heal the old drunk.

"Ugh, the way you healed never felt right." Qrow jokes as he felt wounds heal themselves. Bones and torn muscles melded together, bruises and cuts healed themselves, nearly disappearing completely. Glynda also pitched in, her hands glowing as well.

But their Karma could only do so much, specifically his stump arm.

"I, uh, also found out some, uh... interesting news..." he groaned out.

"Save your energy Qrow, you need all your strength." Glynda states.

"Ah nah, it's fine. Shoulda see my arm before, got it torn off my shoulder, but it's uh, coming back. Though as you can see," he raises his stump. "I'm still short a bit, heh heh."

True to his word, the man's stump was glowing slightly with Red Karma. What was seen as blood was actually the magical energy, trying to grow back the missing appendage.

"Amazing." Glynda raised the appendage, noting the growth. He glasses glowed blue as the magnification increase by like... an ass load. "The individual cells are regenerating by an incredible rate, almost as if they're reproducing in synchronization!" the blue glow faded as the glass' magnification normalized. Reminded her of-

"Hey Glynda, I know I'm sexy and all, but can ya ogle me some other time?" Qrow coughed out.

"He's right, go fetch Peach," Ozpin commanded. Glynda nodded before she went off. "Qrow how did this happen?"

Qrow took a moment to catch his breath before speaking. He reached up with his hand and grabbed the wizard by his shirt.

"The Apostles, Oz... they're back." he croaked out. "I met one, we fought..." he pulled the old man closer. "Ozpin... it destroyed everything... everyone..." there was remorse in his eyes. remorse of all the lives he failed to save. Even the ones that taunted and hated him, they all died.

The wizard grabbed the drunkard's hand, clenching it tightly. "I know Qrow, we tried contacting you, but to no avail... it was awakened, the initiation Qrow. The classes are a lot smaller." remorse was seen in the old man's eyes as well.

Qrow could only widen his eyes at the news. The Apostle had already been awakened? The initiation... all those lives... those souls. Wait! The initiation! Yang!

"Oz! My daughter! Yang?! Is she okay?! Is she alive?!" he coughed out blood, the liquid staining the headmaster's suit.

"She's fine Qrow, she's okay. Not only did she survive, but her spirit is still strong." Ozpin activated his Karma, as Qrow began glowing blue. "There's a lot more Qrow, but you need your rest."

The huntsman's eyes began growing heavier and heavier as his exhaustion finally began catching up to him. He knew Oz was lulling him to sleep with his Karma, and he would have fought it, but he was far too weak. Far too tired.

The last thing he heard was the dinging of the elevator before he blacked out.

When the four had arrived at Beacon, Ruby immediately down some pain killers and an entire bottle of Nyquil, before heading towards the showers. She didn't speak, nor pause, or answer any questions the teams asked.

"Where are you going?!" Weiss shrilled out. "Why are you so dirty? And you look like you just came out of a war field?!" Ruby didn't answer as she grabbed a towel, some clothes and walked out. When the heiress reached for her shoulder, she slapped away the hand, never looking back.

"Weiss, leave her..." Yang's voice stopped the ice mage. The brawler flopped down on her bed. She raised her arms to remove her gauntlets but winced in pain. Her arms still hurt like a bitch, and they were still red.

"Yang? What happened? Are you okay? Do you need to go to the infirmary?" Weiss practically teleported over to Yang, peppering her with questions as she tried to help.

"I'm fine, I think. It's just my arms." The blonde grit her teeth as she removed her gauntlets. Her forearms and hands were red with burns. The metal from Ember Celica must have overheated.

"What, what happened?" Weiss rushes over to the medicine cabinet before bringing back a first aid kit.

Yang slowly reached for her left arm before grabbing the bandages. But even just flexing her finger cause her pain.

"No, let me do it." Weiss gently takes the brawler's hands, a cooling sensation wafts out from the heiress' hands.

Yang lets out a moan of relief, Weiss' Semblance cooling her burns.

The ice mage then set out to slowly remove the bandage on Yang's left arm. She paused, glancing up at Yang who nodded in approval.

Soft delicate hands made the move to unwrap the cloth bandages the brawler always had. Slowly but surely, the wrappings soon gave away to reveal skin.

Horribly burnt and scarred skin.

The skin was a red-pink, wrinkled and some parts redder than others. The burns went from the brawler's shoulder to the end of her five fingertips. Well, four fingers, the pinky gone with a burnt stump.

Yang stared at her arm, disgust in her eyes. No matter how many times she saw her arm, she was always disgusted with it. If she could she'd chop it off, but she knew better.

Soft, gentle, and delicate hands ran over her arm. Yang glanced at Weiss to see her tracing her hands over the burns of the arm. Blue orbs looked up into lavender.

"This doesn't make me think any less of you than it did before, you know that right?" Weiss raises the arm, gently pressing the arm against her cheek.

Yang smiled, before pressing her forehead against her friend's.

"Yeah... I know."

At the same time, in the bathrooms of the dorms, Ruby currently stood in the shower. She had her eyes closed as she stared up, enjoying the cold water running down her face.

She was beginning to feel the effects of the NyQuil, but she stayed awake, the cold water keeping her awake. But she could feel all the tension and stress in her muscles lessen.

She didn't know what to do.

She didn't know if she should fight Yang, or if she should just run away.

If she fought Yang, she would kill the blonde, no doubt. But, that would cause problems. She didn't even know if she could kill Yang. At best, she was at least somewhat equal. I mean she just fought the girl bare fists only. But the blonde wasn't at full strength either. No sword or shotgun...

but she had Karma.

Her Semblance was also an advantage for the brawler. Not only did it increase her strength by incredible amounts, but it heightens her reflexes as well. Yang could track Ruby and react fast enough to attack and defend against the redhead, even with her Semblance.

There was no shame in running either. She had no obligations to stay, but... Pyrrha would want to follow. Jaune would try and stop her as well if he caught wind of this.

And a sudden disappearance would also raise some attention. Without his notice, Ozpin would send someone after her, most likely a trained Huntsman.

And those are difficult to kill.

And where would she go?

She couldn't go back to her mom. Her brand would make her incredibly dangerous as they live outside the safety of the kingdoms.

Vale can be a possibility, she can go back to Junior's and work in the underground. He did say she was always welcomed back. Atlas' border security is tighter than a virgin nun's dried asshole, there's also the fact that the military may or may not be searching for her as well. Mistral is where they expect her to go, but perhaps she could use the underground to her advantage.

Vacuo has been an oddball ever since the Great War eighty years ago. The country, not kingdom, being an isolationist has many unknown factors, but the ruins in the desert could prove useful.

Her skills, intelligence, Silver Eyes, and Karma makes her an incredibly valued target. One he would not allow Salem to possess.

Heh, like she'd ever go to that witch.

Ruby let out a sigh, pressing her head against the tiled wall. She wished Yang would leave her be. She wished she never even met the damn girl in the forest. Should have let that Grimm Shoggoth consume her.

Ruby let out a sigh before setting out to washing herself. She scrubbed her hair and body, being careful of her chest scar and her still injured leg. Her Aura could heal that, but she'd have to let it refill.

She turned off the shower, before wrapping herself in a towel. Being naked always made her feel insecure and paranoid. She walked out the shower, her hair in one of those twisty ice cream sundae towels.

She passed by a mirror, before reversing. She turned to see how crappy she was, despite the shower.

Her eyes were sunken, dark rings around them. Her pupils, despite the sufficient lighting, were dilated. She was slouching, very so, and her expression looked like she'd kill anyone who bothered.

Ruby blinked, staring at herself in the mirror. She noticed a loose strand of hair sticking out of the towel. It was the tip, so it was red, but she noted it was much redder than before.

She recalled her bizarre conversation with the Narrator in her dream. They mentioned how stressed she was, showing off how red her hair was.0

Ruby thought for a moment before raising her hands to her head. Is her hair supposed to be an indicator of her mental stress? Why? And why now?

Ruby closed her eyes and took a breath before removing the towel. Her hair dropped down, the wetness making it stick to her face. She shook her head, despite the headache, and dried her hair again.

Then she opened her eyes.

.

.

.

Oh. It wasn't that bad. Her hair looked rather normal. The tips were still unusually redder, but they didn't extend as far as they did a few days ago.

Did fighting Yang really vent out all that stress? All her repressed anger and hate she held against the blonde brawler? Did... did she really hate her that much?

. . .

Ruby's thoughts went back to the fight between them, how she fought Yang with such intensity and ferocity. No hesitation, no pauses, no remorse.

And now, they were going to fight each other. No holding back...

She needed to get stronger. Or enough that she can keep up with the blonde where she wouldn't kill her. Then and only then can she chose what happens next.

~ ~ ~

Ruby walked back to the dorms, her eyes droopy as the pills and NyQuil were finally kicking in full force.

She didn't want to go back to her dorm, not with Xiao Long most likely sleeping in there. She could sleep in JWPR's(Jupiter) dorm, knowing Pyrrha and Ren wouldn't mind. But Jaune and Weiss, well...

"Hiya Ruby!" A loud cheerful voice greeted.

The redhead looked up from her thoughts to see Ren and Nora hanging outside the dorms, doing who knows what.

"Hello, Ruby." Ren nodded.

"Oh, hey guys." The rose gave a wave. "Whatcha guys doing out here? Did something happen?"

"Oh, nothing! Weiss is just gonna be bunking with Yang for the night, so I- I mean, Ren thought it'd be a great idea if I bunked with him too!" The energetic redhead hugged the ninja.

"Oh, that's cool." Ruby smiled. The relationship the two was something that can be questionable at best. Were they in a romantic relationship or were they simply really close friends? She supposed it didn't matter.

"Hey Ren," the redhead turned to the samurai. "Can I ask you a favor?"

"Of course, we're friends after all." Ren removed Nora from his body.

"Do you think you can help me control my Semblance? Specifically the bouncing." Ruby tilted her head, showing off a cute smile. She was sure Ren wouldn't mind help, but she didn't want any chances.

"You're Semblance?"

"Yeah, I want to be able to at least control when I can bounce. It's becoming a disadvantage whenever I use my Semblance, bouncing at random intervals." She explained.

"Hm, well I suppose I can. How's after class? Nora can help as well." He suggested.

"Yeah! We can all work out together!" The ginger pulled out her hammer from nowhere. It was clear she simply wanted to beat Ruby like a ball.

There was a hint of hesitation in Rose's orbs, but she pushed past it. She needed to get stronger, regardless of the obstacles.

"Sure! I look forward to it!" She smiled sweetly.

"Yeah! That way you don't get bitch slapped for your upcoming fight with Yang!" Nora cheered.

"Wait, what?" How's did Nora know about the fight?

"We overheard Jaune and Pyrrha talking about it," Ren explained. "And while I don't support you fighting Yang to vent out your anger, I will admit that you two will need to confront each other. I will still help you."

Ruby blinked, surprised at Ren's willingness to help the Rose despite knowing the reason. She smiled before bowing her head.

"Thank you, I appreciate it. I really do."

In the infirmary, Qrow laid in a bed, machinery and whatnot beeping as it supported him. The heart monitor beeped away, as the mask on his face aided his breathing.

His arm was still a stump, but it had grown much more since his arrival. Before it was below the elbow, but it had grown more. His wrist was now being formed, the bone, blood, and muscles forming.

"Look at ya." A voice said. There was a figure sitting down on the right of Qrow, watching over him. "All beaten up and the shite squeezed outta ya like toothpaste. Heh heh."

Qrow remained silent.

"Ah, ya lucky ya even survived that fight. Most people don't survive gettin' their neck's snapped. Suppose ya lucked out keepin' yer Aura up and all." The figure let out another chuckle as they rummaged through Qrow's belongings.

"Though, if it were me, I wouldn't have had me arm ripped off cause ya tried ta save the homophobic bartender." They pulled out his flask, which despite having no alcohol, swished around as it filled up.

The figure sat back down on the chair with a grunt. They propped themselves up, placing their feet on Qrow's wheezing chest.

There was a moment of silence as the figure drank from the flask. Even when they seemed to drink the last drop, there was alway somehow more alcohol.

"I wonders..." they spoke as if Qrow was listening. "Are ya trying ta be a good person because of redemption? Or are ya just good at heart, hm?" They took another sip.

Again, there was no answer from Qrow. Only the beeping of the heart monitor.

"Ah, suppose it doesn't matta." The figure sat up. "Suppose it just what ya do now huh?"

The figure ran their gloved hand over Qrow's healing arm, stopping the Karma. Blood began leaking out, but it stopped.

Qrow's heart monitor began beeping more rapidly, as the drunk's sweating increased. He grunted as his breathing quickened.

"Now now," the figure grinned. "It'd be disappointing if ya died from dis."

Qrow's arm then began shaking. The cells began explosively growing as the bone and flesh grew. Then Qrow's arm had finally regrown completely, from the hairs and fingernails to the individual cellular buildup to the tiny blemishes and scars littering the flesh.

"There good as shit! Or should I say Taiyang's love life, am I right or am I right lads?" The figure smiled.

No one answered or laughed as they two were alone.

"Ah, anywho~" the figure stretched, their bones popping and cracking as they touched the ceiling. "Imma goes now, so let's hope ya don't fuck up this chance like Yang might with Sum's shitestain." The figure walked away as the door handle jiggled.

"See ya kiddo." The figure smiled as the door opened.

"Alright Qrow, time to overdose you with more morphine!" Peach grinned as she walked in.

The night had passed, and it was early morning. The sun had yet to rise, but that didn't stop the students of Beacon.

Both sisters had risen early, or early for Yang anyway.

Yang had set out for a morning jog to warm up, but during her laps around Beacon, she saw Ruby runnings as well, barely looking winded as she ran.

Next, the two had separated and set out on working out on a regimen.

Yang went out and applied weights to her sword and swung. She swung and swung her blade, the weights and Gravity Dust proving to be a workout.

Ruby, on the other hand, was zooming around an obstacle course, trying to control her Semblance as she bounced around. Luckily, Ren was there to bitch slap her down.

"Damn it! No matter how many times I try, I can never get it to bounce when I want it to." Ruby groaned as she had been bitch-slapped for the umpteen time.

"Attempting to force out your Semblance is dangerous, as it can lead to Aura exhaustion." The ninja helped the girl up. "That can lead to a decrease in the maximum reserves of your Aura."

"Right, strenuous use can lead to physical side effects too." Ruby rubbed her rump.

"To truly control your Aura, one must clear their mind." Ren got into a stance as did Ruby. "But from what I can see, you are still in distress over your sister."

The boy threw a punch forward, one which Ruby parried.

"She's not my sister." Ruby span around on her heel, delivering a roundhouse kick.

Ren ducked under the kick and delivered an uppercut.

"One can be considered a brother even without blood, as one can be disowned from their family," Ren stated.

Ruby rubbed her jaw before lunging at the ninja.

She threw punches after punch, all of which were dodged by Ren.

"She is not my sister." Ruby arm was caught, but she freed herself. "She will never be my sister. Not after what she has done. I want nothing to do with her." She performs a leaping kick, but Ren grabs her leg and slams her down.

He pins the girl, keeping her arm behind her as he pushed her head down.

"If you do not see her as a sister and wish nothing to do with her, then why do you insist on fighting her?" Ren keeps her down as she tries to escape. "Is it revenge? Will beating her down make you feel better? Or are you simply lashing out at the world?"

Ruby grits her teeth as her eyes glow blue. She sends a mental signal at the boy, the signal crashing against his psyche.

Ren gasps as he loses focus for a moment. Which is all Ruby needed to free herself. She flips two around, and pins down Ren, straddling his waist.

"No! It's none of that!"

Ren struggles for a moment, before raising his legs, wrapping them around Ruby's head. He yanks her off of him, sending her bouncing across the floor.

Ren lunges at the girl, intending on deactivating her Semblance, but he's caught off guard as Ruby twists her body.

Her legs land against the wall, her muscles and bounce condensing before releasing all of that energy.

"Hiyaaaa!" Ruby shoots out like a bullet at Ren, her fist out.

The boy's eyes widen in shock as he ducks under the girl. Ruby soars over the boy and crashes right into the opposite wall. She slaps against the wall like a wet rag and slides down.

"Uggghhhhh..." she moans out as Ren walks over to her.

"Well, it seems like the bounciness is becoming more and more frequent. I suppose we can continue this later." Ren helps the girl up, allowing her to lean on him.

"Breakfasts sounds good." Ruby groans out as the two walkout.

"Two hundred eighty-seven... two hundred eighty-eight... two hundred eight nine..." Yang counted out loud as she swung her massive blade.

Sweat dripped down her muscular body as she focused entirely on swinging her blade. Currently, there were several weights strapped to the blade. Along with that, the blade's Gravity Dust was active making not only the blade heavier, but also the weights as well.

"Two hundred ninety-three... two hundred ninety-four..." while Yang had an easy time swinging the massive blade around, she had to put a lot more effort to swing the sword with the Gravity Dust was on, coupled with the weights, it proved to be the perfect work out to push her limits.

"Two hundred ninety-eight... two hundred ninety-nine... three hundred!" Yang slammed the blade down, but instead of letting it break the floor, she pulled it back. The force was enough to create a gust of wind.

Yang huffed as she wiped her brow. She was currently in her crop top only along with a pair of shorts. Leaving little to the staring boys and girls in the gym to their imagination.

Her arms burned as she rolled her shoulder, earning a pop. She dropped her sword, the metal slab shaking the floor. The point of this exercise was so that Yang could not just increase the power of her swings, but so that she could swing faster. Fast enough to match Ruby's speed.

But... swinging wouldn't do. She needed to find someone to spar against. Someone fast, faster than her, so that she may train.

"Yang?" Weiss yawned as she walked into the gym. She had dressed herself and had what was probably her second cup of coffee in her hand.

"Oh, hey Weiss." Yang grabbed a water bottle and down the entire thing. Steam practically came from her due to her body heat.

"What are you doing up so early? I didn't see you in the dorm." Weiss took a sip of her coffee.

"I'm, um, just working out." Yang deactivated the Gravity Dust and removed the weights.

"Oh, well you better get ready for class, breakfast is almost over. I'll save you something okay?" Weiss took another sip of her coffee.

"Uh, right. Thanks, Ice Queen." Yang awaited the snide remark or retort at the nickname, but it never came.

"Okay," the heiress yawned. "I'll see you later."

Yang blinked at Weiss' retreating form. Man, she must be really out of it.

~ ~ ~

Class passed without much incident, just a few glares and look from the sisters and their pets, i.e. Pyrrha and Weiss.

The bell for lunch had rung, and students had all rushed out want to stuff their fat asses.

Ruby was waking to the commons, as was Yang. The two glanced at one another but did nothing else.

Ruby, wanting to get away from Yang, walked a bit faster.

Yang saw the redhead speeding a bit so she walked faster seeing it as a competition.

Ruby noticed the brawler speeding up, so she walked faster, thinking the brawler wanted to talk to her.

Yang walked faster.

Ruby walked even faster.

Yang sped up.

Ruby sighed and began speed walking.

Yang sped up, passing Ruby.

This continued for a moment and soon the two weren't even walking. They were both sprinting next to each other, trying to outrun each other.

"What's your problem?!" Ruby spat out.

"My problem? I'm just trying to get some food!" Yang shouted back.

"Why are you following me?!"

"I'm not following you! You just happen to be in the way!"

"Me?! I'm in the way?! That's it!" Rose petals began emitting from the redhead as she prepares to shoot off with her Semblance.

"Oh no, you don't!" Yang reaches out and grabbed the reaper's cape just as she launched off.

The two zip through the halls in a swirling flurry of orange rose petals.

"Gah! Let go!" Ruby tried shoving off the swordswoman, but she wouldn't budge.

"You can't use your Semblance! That's cheating!" Yang retorted as she held on.

"Cheating? What are you talking about?! This isn't a race!" Ruby turned around a corner hoping the sharp turn would shake off the girl.

And it did. Yang grip was so tight that the fabric of the cape she was holding onto ripped off as she slammed into a wall.

"Ugh..."

"Ha hahaha!" Ruby laughed as she looked back.

Only to slam into a wall herself.

"Oooohhh..." she groaned as she flopped down.

The sounds of heels clicking were heard as nearby students all scrambled away.

Ruby's vision cleared and she looked up to see Glynda Goodwitch glaring down at her.

"... I didn't know you wore lingerie." Ruby states as she looked up Glynda's skirt.

~ ~ ~

The two sisters were now in detention, Glynda watching over the two.

"Tch, stupid blonde..." Ruby mumbled.

"What was that?" Yang whisper shouted.

"No talking!" Goodwitch's voice boomed. "Or would you like me to extend your detention, Miss Xiao Long?" She pushed up her glasses.

"No! No, no, ma'am." Yang smiled forcefully.

Ruby snickered on the side until she felt a force grab her hand and smack her.

"Ow!" Ruby rubbed her face as Glynda glared at her, her riding crop glowing purple.

"You too as well Miss Rose." Glynda crosses her legs. "I may have forgiven you for the first time with your Semblance since it was an accident, but I told you not to use it unless you're in a controlled environment."

Ruby just took a deep breath, before letting it all out.

"Right, sorry." Ruby pursed her lips before propping her head. This sucked, she could be out there training or eating or doing something, but nope. She was stuck here.

Well, at least Xiao Long was stuck here as well.

~ ~ ~

Soon lunch break had ended, and the sisters were finally allowed to leave.

Ruby stormed out the classroom, ignoring the calls of the blonde. She was hungry, but she could worry about that later. She just wanted to get away from the blonde.

"Ruby!" She heard someone call her, but she ignored it.

The redhead continued walking, even after she left the school, she took the Bullheads to Vale, not caring that she was technically skipping.

Soon the redhead was roaming the streets of Vale, wandering here and there, lost in her thoughts.

"Hey, girl." A gruff voice called out.

Ruby looked up to see a disgustingly dressed man, filthy hair, black and yellow missing teeth, etc, etc. she looked around to see she had taken an alley as a shortcut.

"Hey! You 'ear me?! Empty ya pockets!" The thug shouted wielding a... oh no! A knife!

I'm not sorry.

Ruby simply blinked at the offending blade, the situation reminds her of how she even got into Beacon. The attention of the headmaster.

"Tch! Okay, you asked for-" the disgusting bastard didn't have a chance to even think as Ruby bent the man's arm, and used his hand to shove the blade right up his head.

He gasped for a moment before stumbling back and falling.

Ruby stares down at the body, her mind still focused on other things. Not even important things. Just things more significant than the bleeding corpse below here.

There was a gasp, and, without thinking, Ruby dashed into the person, shoving them back. She quickly pulled out her mother's dagger, and slammed the blade right into the person's chest, in between the ribs.

The person gasped once again, and Ruby got the chance to see who saw.

"D-daddy..." the little girl gasped out.

A child.

Ruby immediately gasps, pulling out the blade. Blood gushes out as the girl grips as her throat, struggling to breathe. She reaches out at nothing, blood pooling in her mouth.

"H-hey..." Ruby grabs the girl's hand, the child coughing out blood. Ruby's eyes burst into blue Karma, her hand shivering over the girl's body as she tried to heal the girl, but it was futile.

Soon the girl's eyes faded as her body slumped down.

Ruby kneeled there for what seemed like forever, just staring at the body of the girl. Her vision blurred as she raised her hand to wipe her face.

She looked at it to see blood smeared. Her hand shook as a door in the alley shook.

"What's with all the damn noise?!" A deep voice shouted. "I thought I told you old man to fuck off-!" The man didn't even see anything before a knife was thrown at his throat.

Blood spewed out like a fountain, spraying all over Ruby. She covered herself with her cloak, the blood camouflaging with the red.

"Hey! What's going on boss?!" Another voice calls out.

Ruby flinched at the voice before sprinting off, her rose petals vanishing before they even hit the ground.

Ruby sprinted through the streets of downtown, her speed merely making her seem like a strong gust of wind to anyone else. The girl ran through the streets until she found herself in one place.

Junior's.

She didn't necessarily decide to go here, but she supposed she just subconsciously knew how to get here.

Suppose it would be nice to check up on Junior and his girls.

"Hey, little girl. You lost?" A guard in the front confronted her. "We don't accept minors so beat it." He must be new.

"Yeah, I'm not here to drink. Screw off." Ruby pushed past the guy. But when he turned to grab her, she spun around and grabbed his weapon. She held his cleaver up to his neck, her eyes dangerously narrow. "You're new, look for the signs noob." Ruby shoved the guy off. She tossed his cleaver and walked right in.

The sunlight disappeared as the doors closed behind her. The only lighting being the multicolored spotlights, lasers, and changing dance floor.

"Hey Rojo," Ruby greeted the bearded man as she passed by.

"Hm? Oh hey, Ruby." The guard greeted automatically.

. . .

Wait-

"What the? Oh shit! Ruby!" Rojo Toro rushed past the young girl, rushing over to the bar where a tall dark-haired man was flirting with a woman.

"You know, I do enjoy tall, dark, and handsome," the woman smiled sweetly as she tugged on Junior's red tie.

The man grinned, enjoying how close he was to the woman's lips. Just a bit more and-

"Boss! Boss!" A guard rushed over to him, effectively ruining the atmosphere.

"Oh, apologies," the woman backed off. "It seems you have other matters to attend to. The woman smiled sweetly before walking off.

"Wait, baby! It's nothing, just gimme a moment!" Junior yelled after the woman, but it was all for naught.

The man grits his teeth as he turned to his henchman. He was so close. So close!

"What do you want?!" The tall man jerked around to face the bearded guard. "What could be so important that you had to ruin another opportunity for me to get a woman?!"

"It's-, it's-, she's here! She back!" The guard fumbles over his words, his boss' intimidating stature, and glare making him shake in his boots.

"Wha-? Blondie?!" Fear and irritation were present in the owner's eyes.

"N-no! Not her! It's-"

"Hey! Can I get served here?!" A voice shouted.

The two men looked over to see Ruby sitting down at the bar counter. She held a glass cup, waiting to be served.

"Hold on Ruby, I need to deal with this idiot." Junior brushed off the young girl, before turning back to his henchman. "Now, what is so important?!"

Rojo could only shift his eyes between his boss and Ruby. She was right there! Did Junior not care?

"Well?! What's the damn-... problem..." Junior's brain finally caught up as he slowly cranes his head towards the redhead. She smiled at him, leaning on her hand on the counter.

"Ruby?!" Junior shrieked. How the hell did he write her off?!

"Junior~! How've you been boss?!" Ruby greeted happily.

"What are you doing here?! And don't call me boss in public." Junior walked behind the counter.

"You got it, boss!" Ruby smiled cheekily.

"So what'll it be? The usual?" The mob boss grabbed a glass cup, filling it with milk.

"Give me cocoa." Ruby sighed.

Junior pauses, before setting out to make the drink. "Long day?"

"... long month." Ruby grabbed the cup of cocoa. It wasn't warm, but it'll do.

"What do you mean?"

"... I've met my sister." Ruby then set out to explain the events leading up to this.

~ ~ ~

The sounds of grunting and slapping could be heard throughout the gym of Beacon. Those that were currently in the gym could only stare in awe and shock as Yang was furiously beating down a punching bag.

With each punch, the bombshell blonde let out a grunt. Her fists were covered in bandages, sweat covered her body as she delivered a final punch to the sandbag.

"Yah!" She yelled as she sent the bag flying off the chain it hung in. Sand spilled out as Yang huffed. A man, who was simply waiting on the sidelines, walked towards the punching bag and grabbed it. He then tossed it into a bin, where several other broken punching bags laid.

Yang grabbed a bottle of water and chugged it all down in one go. Steam could be seen as she let out a gasp.

Her strength really was monstrous.

The brawler reaches over to the side, grabbing a punching bag and hooked it onto the chain, before beating it down.

This had been going on for quite some time. After the Ruby had stormed off, Yang had gone straight to the gym after class had ended. There she trained, despite her muscles and bones aches from her last fight with Ruby. Her fists felt like they were bleeding, but she pushed on.

That damn idiot.

Why could she just give her a chance?! She had changed! And even if she hadn't Ruby didn't know that! She believed the redhead would be smart enough to at least bear her out.

But no, she's too stubborn look at her without even beating a hint of disgust.

She had tried being nice. Tried to help her out now and then. Asked her how her day was, checked if she needed help, etc, etc.

But no.

Every chance, every time the damned midget would tell her to piss off. She might as well be flipping her off!

"Rah!" Yang knocked off another punching bag, the janitor coming to pick it up again. He had given up on cleaning after her, just waiting till she finished so he can clean up completely. Yang huffed, her fists clenching tightly. She could see out of the corner of her eye people watching her.

"What?!" She snapped at them, stomping her foot. "Mind your damn business!" She growled, her eyes flickering red. The spectators all scurried off like rats, avoiding the blonde's gaze lest they be her new punching bag.

"Yang?"

The blonde huffed jerking her head towards the voice, only to calm down when she saw it was Weiss. "Oh, hey Weiss." she greeted. She walked towards a bench before flopping down on it.

The heiress sat next to her friend, properly crossing her legs. She held up a bottle of energy drink to the blonde who accepted the drink.

"So," Weiss glanced over at the grumbling janitor who was sweeping up the spilled sand. "You seem to be training hard."

"Yeah," the boxer slowly drank the bottle, wanting to rest while she spoke with Weiss. "I need to get stronger so that I can beat Ruby."

Weiss stayed quiet for a moment before speaking. "Is she really that strong? Forgive me for asking, but from the spar in Professor Goodwitch's class, you seemed to handle her quite well. You were even holding back from what I have seen!" she praised.

"Yeah, but... she was holding back too." The heiress gave the brawler a look. "I didn't know at the time, but... Ruby was holding back, a lot. Even when we fought at her shop, she always had me moving. I only had my gauntlets, but even disarmed, she still knew how to fight." she flexed her hands, wincing slightly.

"Wait?!" Weiss was in disbelief. Yang was one of the strongest people the heiress knew that was in her age group. And Ruby managed to stay on par with the brawler.

"Yeah, but she had... she has Karma Weiss, Blue Karma." the blonde confessed, Weiss had a face that mimicked Yang's face when she realized the redhead possessed the power. "And from what I can tell, she knows how to use it real good."

"What-, but-, how?!" words failed the ice mage as she tried to conceive a reason to why Ruby had Karma. "Your dads taught you to use Karma! From what I can tell, Ruby's been on her own for most of her life! How could she possess Karma? How could she have trained enough to use it that'd she'd beat you?"

"I... don't know. But she couldn't have learned it on her own, at least to such a level where she'd teleport me to disorient me." Yang sneered. That was incredibly annoying. After resting, Yang had finally figured out what Ruby was doing.

Ruby would throw her dagger at Yang, causing the blonde to try and block or dodge, Ruby would follow after the dagger and attack early. But, right when Ruby reached the apex of her attack, the dagger and Yang would swap places. Resulting in an unprepared Yang, receiving Ruby's attacks.

It was an annoying, but effective strategy. The enemy wouldn't have enough time to block or dodge that attack unless their own Karma was strong enough to fend off the karmic energy. Yang could probably stop the teleportation, but she was too disoriented to even figure what was happening.

But... there was a flaw in this technique.

Blue Karma allows you to affect anything inside the range, except the user itself.

Meaning Ruby couldn't teleport herself.

Despite only knowing Red Karma, Yang could still figure out how it worked. But teleporting two objects was quite an advanced technique. That would mean it would take a lot of Karma to teleport.

Hmm...

"Yang, are you listening?"

"No..." she admitted as she continued to think of ways to get around Ruby's Karma.

"I said," the heiress pinched the blonde's ear, ignoring the protests, "it seems like you two are trying to kill each other! I know this fight may be inevitable, but can't you two just try and talk it out?"

"Right, just like you and your family?" Yang perked an eyebrow. Her eyes widened at what she had said, but it was too late.

The blonde could feel her ear begin to freeze, the skin turning blue lightly.

"What did you say?" anger was clear in the heiress' eyes. Yang swore that she saw them glow blue with Karma for a split second, only to realize it was Weiss' Aura flashing.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean too!" she blubbered out, her ear was gonna freeze off!

Weiss held the brawler's ear for a moment longer before letting go. She watched Yang hiss in pain as her Aura warmed up her ear.

"I-I'm sorry. It's just... I've been so frustrated with Ruby that I just want to beat her face and give up on her." Yang sighed as she sipped from her energy drink. "But now... now she's willing to actually give me a chance. All I have to do is beat her. To defeat her."

"And if she wins?" Weiss asks.

"... I die." Yang answered.

Weiss blinked at the answer, her brain not fully comprehending the words her friends just said.

"Oh don't be so dramatic Yang, I know that if you lose you probably won't ever get to reconcile with your sister, but that just shows what she really is."

"No, Weiss. If I lose, I die. She wins by killing me." Yang explained, Weiss must have not believed her.

"Yang, please," Weiss smiled, still not believing the brawler. "There's no way she can beat you, and even if, if she beats you it'll just be a beating. You'll come out with a couple of bruises and cuts, but you'll heal."

"Weiss..."

"I mean, it's not like she'll st-stab you or anything," Weiss' voice cracked. "You'll be... you'll be fine. You will beat her, I know you can. You're, you're not going to die and... a-and leave m-me all alone-, you'll be fine." tears began building in the heiress' eyes, her voice breaking even more.

"Weiss!" the blonde held her friend by her shoulders.

"You can't fight her Yang! You can't leave me!" the girl was crying fully now, her makeup mixing with her tears. "I don't w-want to be alone, you can't leave me alone! I forbid it!" she felt the brawler wrap her arms around her, rubbing her back.

"Shh, shh," the swordswoman comforted her best friend. She fully understood what would happen if she was defeated. No, she wouldn't be defeated, she would simply be killed the moment Ruby got the chance. "It's alright, it's alright."

"No! It's not! She'll kill you, Yang! Why did you even accept her request?! If you knew that there was a chance that you'd die, then why would you agree to such terms?!" the sadness was beginning to leave the heiress, anger replacing it.

"I had to Weiss," Yang's eyes steeled themselves, "If I didn't accept it if I threw away an opportunity to reconcile with Ruby, I could never live with such regret."

"But are you really willing to risk your life for something like this?" Weiss looked up to the taller girl.

"I've searched for my mom for most of my younger childhood, but I had long moved on. There were more important things to focus on, especially now that I know what happened to Ruby when we searched for her." Yang sighed as she fixed her arms around Weiss. "I've given up on her, there's no reason to even chase after someone who's never given a shit about me, but Ruby... she's what I continued to fight on for. She's what pushed me forward, to at least know if she wants anything to do with me."

The two sat in silence in one another's embrace.

"If you two are gonna fuck do it somewhere else, I ain't cleaning up ya goddamn cumstains on my floor." the janitor suddenly spoke, reminding the girls he existed.

~ ~ ~

"Ah, shit. Sounds like hell." Junior comments as he drinks from a beer. "Ah, well it doesn't sound all too bad. You still got that blonde noodle and your girl, Nikos."

"My girl?" Ruby perked an eyebrow.

"Speaking on Pyrrha, how has the girl been? She passed by here a little before Beacon classes began, but haven't heard from her since." Junior subtly changed the subject.

"she's been... alright. She's was really ecstatic to find out I was attending Beacon." Ruby took a sip from her chocolate milk. "And ever since, despite being on different teams, she's been following me like a puppy. We even arranged a little thing that had unexpectedly turned into a murder, or... murders."

Junior blinked at this information, he was aware Ruby and Pyrrha had killed. Hell, they performed a few assassinations while they worked under him. While it wasn't surprising to hear Ruby had killed someone, he was worried whether she had gotten away with it.

Ruby seemed to understand what the broker was thinking. "Don't worry, I made sure not to leave any loose ends. Pyrrha helped and another friend of mine helped as well, so she can't rat me out."

The man visibly calmed. "You must have a lot of trust in this friend of yours to help that plan of yours. Someone special?"

Ruby leaned back in her seat, taking another sip of her milk. "To be honest, she sorta annoyed me until I let her in, but now that you mentioned it, I suppose I do have a lot of trust in her."

"What's so special about her?" Junior leaned back as well, he caught sight of Melaine and Matilda kicking out a perverted drunkard. Must have either tried to grope them or wanted another drink.

"She's... someone I met a long while ago. Defected White Fang." Ruby took a final sip of her milk, finishing her glass.

"Ahhhh, that makes a bit more sense. Why can't you have normal friends?" he joked.

"Why can't you have a normal family?" Ruby poked back.

"Cause they're all fucking psychopaths," Junior grumbled, finishing his beer. "Oh, by the way, those berries from the Forever Falls are earning me ass loads of lien. You should get me more. People just love that shit."

Ruby just grinned, knowing those berries were great for fine wine. "Sure, if you save me a bottle, I don't drink, but I think I know what to do with such high-quality wine."

The two continued to sit across from each other, enjoying the muffled music and the dance of the people.

"... say, Junior," Ruby spoke up.

"Hm?"

"Can I ask you a teensy weensy ity bity small favor? I just need some info."

"Sure kiddo, I won't charge ya since it's been a while."

Ruby looked out the window of the private room they were in, noticing the two twins kicking out another drunkard.

"What can you tell me about The Second Narrator?"

8,122 words, excluding Disclaimer and Author's note. I will accept criticism and opinions.

Now... before the ones that actually follow my story kill me, give me a chance to explain.

. . .

I was lazy.

Okay! Okay! Look, it's been a literal month since the last damn chapter I've posted. And, after I had finished that, I set out to complete this one. But, work got into the way. I'd come home after working in the sun completely pooped out. I'd eat showered and flopped down on the bed. And on the times I did have time, I just wanted to relax and just bleh.

So, there's my shitty excuse for my lack of work. Heh, there should be two more chapters before we finally finish this season/Volume. And then I go on another Hiatus! Yay! More wait!

But don't worry! School has begun, so the workload has lessened and the kiddos are dragged to prison. I'll still have work and chapters may come out a bit slower, but I will finish these last two chapters before going into my Hiatus. I'll work on the next future chapters along with another book I am working on! Well, there are others, an original and another fanfiction, but I'm excited for both of them!

The next two chapters will be the climactic battle between the two sisters! Who will win? Who will lose? Will Yang die to the hands of Ruby? Can Ruby really kill her own blood sister? What will happen to Qrow? What has the Narrator planned? I am running out of pointless questions to ask. Is futa gay?

If ya have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I enjoy the comments everyone makes. Pushes me forward into making more chapters.

Au revoir!

It's a wonder no one has asked about Ruby's mother, at least the one who has taken care of her.
