Beacon of Trouble

People may not know this, but motion sickness is a much more common problem that people take it for. Over 200,000 people in America are afflicted by this terrible condition. Wherever that is. Forced to suffer through the agony that is the feeling of vomit forcing its way up your esophagus, only to have to force it down.

Jaune Arc was unfortunately one of these people.

He had packed his stuff, taken some money, took his great great grandfather's sword, Crocea Mors, and up and left. He left his home, his mother, his sisters, and his father, in hopes of becoming a great huntsman. Like his father, and his father's father, and his father's father, and... you get the point.

Jaune had a pretty decent life, he had a caring family, a well paying job, a great boss, and good friends.

So when the opportunity to apply to Beacon came up, he took the chance. He first went to his boss explaining how he wanted to go to Beacon. Reluctant at first, his boss agreed and gave him a farewell, before telling him to lock up as she headed off to do some errands.

Next, after closing the shop, he went home. Eager to tell his family the news. They're reactions were not positive to say at the least.

The two youngest were happy. Happy that their big brother was going to be a huntsman, that he was gonna be a hero and fight monsters. Of course they were, they didn't understand anything.

His older sisters weren't as happy. They were happy that he was finally finding a path of his own, doing something with his life. Just that it was their fathers path. They supported him, but he could see it in their eyes. The pity, the worry. He knew that they were thinking of him as a porcelain doll. Unable to defend him sled after the accident.

His mother was for it, happy that he was following it his father footsteps. But she didn't understand either. Her marriage was an arrange one. While she despised the idea at first, she learn to love his father. She wasn't stupid, hell she was a scientist. She was just ignorant.

His father on the other hand...

He was pissed.

How could he? He couldn't fight! He could just barely hold a sword right! He was weak, inexperienced, and cannon fodder. Meat just for the Grimm to eat.

How could he say that? To his own son no less! Just because his father never gave him a choice for his future didn't mean he's have to push it on him! Sure he maybe didn't want his only son to go fight, to be forced to fight, but why? Why did he say it like he meant it. Like, like...

Like he was ashamed of him...?

He could fight, he had his Aura unlocked by his boss. He could hold a sword, he could block, he could fire a gun pretty good, all this training provided by his boss. She didn't believe in him, because she told him that only he could lift himself.

That night he ran up to his room. He didn't come down for dinner, he didn't answer his sisters calls, his mother's pleas, his father apologies.

Because when Johnathan Arc bust down the door to his room.

Jaune Arc was gone.

For the night he planned to spend the night at his boss'. He tried calling her ahead of time, but she didn't answer. He decided to move on, not wanting to bother her.

So he spent the night at a friend's home. In the morning, he set out thanking his friend. He set out for the bullheads, this was his start, his new life. A chance to make something out of himself.

Only... he apparently needed an I.D. card to get on the Bullhead. And the scary, mean, looking woman made him forget any ideas of sneaking on.

"Oh jeez." He tugged on his hoodie, sweat forming on his brow. Maybe he could continue working with his boss. She'd understand, but... he had already quit.

"No!" He shook his head, ridding his mind of any thoughts of giving up. "You are marching right up to that bullhead, and you will demand to speak to be let on!" He ordered himself. "Be it that woman, a professor, or even the headmaster himsel-"

"Jaune Arc? You are Mr. Arc, son of John and Joan Arc?" The mean looking lady suddenly asked.

"U-um, y-yes. Dat me." Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit! He was in so much trouble. He was gonna go to jail, and spend the rest of his life in prison, and probably get raped! He did have a firm butt.

"Good, you're on time." The blonde lady pushed up her glasses. "I am professor Glynda Goodwitch, but you will address me as Professor Goodwitch. Understood?" She gave a glare to the scrawny looking boy.

"Y-yes ma'am. Understood."

"Good, now here. You never wrote down an address, so we opted to wait to see whether you came to the flight or not." She passed him a golden I.D. card, his face on the top left.

"Wait, how was I supposed to know if I was accepted or not? I just came to go to Beacon, and talk, what if I didn't come?" He looked at the professor, his eyes staring into Glynda's emeralds.

"Then I suppose you wouldn't be attending Beacon now would you? Now run along now, we have more students coming in." She ushered him into the Bullhead, moving on to the next student.

"Name?"

~ ~ ~

Jaune had been excited. He had been accepted! He had a real chance at becoming a huntsman!

So excited in fact that he ran to the restroom of the Bullhead to vomit his breakfast.

"Ughhhhh," He vomited once more. "I thought the ride would be... smooth." He flushed the toilet, and washed his face. Popping a pill for his stomach, Jaune made his way to the windows. They were flying high above the city now. In fact, he could see his home despite it being somewhere in the suburbs.

"Nice view ain't it?' a voice said next to him.

Jaune turned to see a busty blonde girl, slightly shorter than him. Her blonde hair was a bright yellow blonde, he almost mistakenly thought her as the sun itself. Her hair was wild and unruly, reaching to her lower back. Her eyes were a shade of lavender, and held something to them.

But what caught the most attention was the giant big ass sword on her back. It was nearly the size of herself, but it was long and thin. There was a sawed off on her hip, holstered.

"Huh? Oh yeah! I can see my house from here too!" Jaune agreed, his stomach already doing flips. Whether it be from talking to a beautiful girl or the pill weren't working.

The busty blonde smiled at her fellow blonde, before she held out a bandaged hand. "Names Yang, Yang Xiao-Long."

"Arc, Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, ladies love it." He flashed a smile.

Yang snorted, her laugh cheerful. "Well, a bold one, aren't ya blondie?" She lean against the wall, crossing her arms.

"Aha, sure am." He glanced at the sword Yang sheath on Yang's back. She followed his gaze, noticing he was staring at her sword.

"Something catch your eye?" She smirked, she shook her shoulders, the sword and her breasts jiggling, but Jaune's attention was caught more on the sword.

"It's just, well, its so big."

"That's what he said." She grinned. "So, where ya from? I don't recognize your accent. Mistral? Vacuo? Certainly not from Atlas, with what you're wearing."

"Oh, uh, I'm from Vale. I lived with my family outside of the city in the suburbs." He answered ignoring the jab at his choice attire.

Whether Yang noticed his use of 'lived' or not she didn't show it. "Vale, huh? Well, guess we've never met. Makes sense, cuz' I lived in Patch with my dads."

"Patch, like the island off the coast of Vale?" Jaune asked, he felt that the name was familiar.

"The same, why? You know someone?"

"Hm? No, just feels familiar. Though my boss..." Jaune trailed off, his attention caught by something else.

"What about your boss? Blondie? Jaune?" Yang followed his gaze outside the window, only for her mouth to open as well.

Beacon.

'This is annoying.' Pyrrha thought to herself.

At the moment she was being peppered by a fan, talking about things she didn't care about, well more like screaming at her.

A hand reached out and stroked her hair, she resisted the urge to pull out her blade and slice off the disgusting appendage.

Instead, she opted to show off her award winning smile, and ask the fan girl politely to stop grabbing her with her disgusting, filthy, gorilla hands.

Not that she actually said that.

'Ugh, when will the Bullhead arrive?' She groaned mentally, not paying a single ounce of attention to the fan having an orgasm about meeting her.

'I miss her...' she thought solemnly. She missed her friend, her actual friend. It might surprise you like the motion sickness, but Pyrrha didn't have a lot of friends.

Everyone either thought she was too good to interact with the plebeians, which wasn't too far from the truth. Or they simply wanted to use her for their own needs, only to end up in the hospital.

She absentmindedly brushed her finger through her red(not orange) hair. The color reminding her of the girl.

'Though, I suppose she would be happy with me choosing my own path. I want to grow strong so that I can protect her. Maybe I can visit her during the weekend.' She thought. Yes, she would be so happy to see her again after these few months.

"Ah, Miss Nikos? Ma'am?" the annoying bug buzzed, their black and red hair moving with their head. First she would have to get rid of these pest.

"Yes?" She answered sweetly, her beautiful jungle green eyes staring into the peasant's brown.

"Eeeeeeeeeee!" The bug, no pig, squealed out. "Pyrrha Nikos acknowledged me!"

Flashes of Pyrrha stabbing her javelin into the pig's throat to silence her went through her mind. She squashed those thoughts down. It wouldn't do her well to do that. She could care less if she was branded as a criminal, as if that mattered.

'No, there's a time and a place for that.' She clutched her fist, her knuckles turning white. 'Unfortunately now is not the time.'

The Bullhead slowly landed with a jerk, the doors opening. Students then began walking out in the masses. Pyrrha used that chance to move away from the orgasming fan girl, using the masses to hide. She continued walking with the crowd, her body being pushed and shoved. Then someone roughly push her aside as they ran past. She fought the urge to beat the person, until she saw it was a blond boy vomiting into the trash can.

Okay, she could understand that. Better the trash can than her. She sighed, walking towards the school. Until someone else decided to push her aside.

'Okay that's it!' She snarled, she turned around ready to punch the bastard, but she couldn't find them. Until she saw a familiar mop of red hair.

No way.

She was here?! Pyrrha, pushes her way through the crowd, making her way toward the short red head. She grabbed their shoulders and turned them around, only to show some random girl with black hair and red tips.

"Ah! Miss Nikos! I thought you left me! But you would never do that to your number one fan! We must have lost each other in the crowd..."

Pyrrha tunes out the pig's squealing, as she let her got. Of course. Why would she be here? She held huntsman with a sense of contempt. So, why would she be at a academy for the concept she dislikes.

"Miss Nikos? Are you okay?" The pig asked. She couldn't even be bothered to remember it name.

"If you're really my biggest fan, make yourself useful." She shoved her bag to the pig, before walking away.

Two years of hell and she gets this bullshit? She'd have to work for her goal, life wasn't fair. Just like those... people said.

"If you want something take it, if you can't get it, work for it. And if you still can get it, well who's say you have to follow the rules?"

They may have been worthless, sacks of scum, but they had some good advice.

~ ~ ~

Jaune had sprint out the doors the moment they opened, vomit already in his mouth. He slammed into the trash can, more puke forcing its way up his throat.

He felt someone pat his back, he assumed it was Yang, feeling sorry for him. He felt her put something in his hand.

"Ugh," he spat in the trash can, getting rid of the flavor on his tongue. In his hand was another pill... huh.

"Howsit going, blondie?" Yang walked up to him, giving a pat on his back. Wait, wasn't she already with him?

He felt more vomit rising up, what ever didn't matter. He was grateful for his pill.

"Yeesh, anymore and you'll fill the trash can!" Yang joked, grinning at the blond. That is until a blob of vomit landed on her shoe. "Aw, gross! You got it on my shoe! You get any on my hair, and I'll tear you a new one!" She flicked her boot, trying to get it off.

"Sorry!" Jaune apologized, as he took the pill. The sooner the better. "Hey, don't bring that towards me!" He moved away, as Yang hopped toward him.

"H-Hey, watch it!" He stumbled backwards, falling into a pile of luggage.

"Ugh, I'm gonna wash this off! I'll be back vomit boy!" Yang ran off, toward the fountain.

"What are you doing?!" A shrill voice squawked.

Jaune looked up from the ground to see a pair of icy blue eyes staring down at him. She was a pale, white haired girl glaring down at him. The sun was up, giving her an aura of holiness.

"An angel?" He mumbled out.

"I'm flattered, but that doesn't excuse you from what you did!" The 'angel' shrilled out. She leaned down to pick up a box of Dust. "Do you have any idea what this is? This is Dust! You could have blown us off the face of the cliff!"

"Dah, Ugh?" Jaune groaned out like a neanderthal, which is what the girl saw him as. "L-Look I'm sorry. I-I just get motion sickness, and I was throwing up, and, and-"

"Do you know who I am?!" She shrilled out like a cat.

Speaking of...

"Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. One of the most influential and powerful corporations in the world." A new challenger approached!

With a black bow upon her head, a black haired girl walked up to the duo, with a book in her hands. She snapped it shut, looking up at the two with her amber eyes.

"Finally, some recognition." Weiss huffed, crossing her arms.

"The same company with controversial labor forces, questionable business partners, and a chaotic family history." The girl added, putting her hips on her hands... wait-?

"Ugh! How dare-! You-" the heiress stomped her heel, before storming off. Her servants picking up the luggage, and following their money-, paycheck-, I mean mistress.

"Okay, Snow princess is a better name." Jaune turned to the black haired girl, only to see her leaving. "Uh, thanks for the help!"

The girl ignored the boy, and continued walking, passing by a red head girl.

As they passed each other, for a split second, the girl's instincts screamed at her to attack the red head. She spared a glance at the girl, her amber eyes catching sight of the red and blue orbs staring right back at her. They flashed a violet, her eyes knowing exactly what the other was thinking.

'She's dangerous, very so.' The brunette thought to herself, as time moved normally.

After the moment passed, both continued walking on their way, as if nothing happened.

Jaune sighed, as he lied down on the ground. Great welcoming that's for sure. A shadow then loomed over him, making him open his eyes.

"Need a hand?" All too familiar silver orbs gleamed in amusement, a snarky grin on her face.

~ ~ ~

Yang had gone to the fountain to wash her boot. She didn't mind all the stares she got when she took her boot off. She just glared at them, making them shuffle along.

She smirked, before she heard a cough behind her.

She turned around to see Professor Goodwitch, arms crossed, riding crop out, and her infamous glare staring down Yang.

"Might I ask what you think you're doing Miss Xiao-Long?" She asked calmly. Good, she still had a chance to salvage this.

"Uh, well you see Miss Goodwitch. I had the unfortunate opportunity to get vomit on my boot. So, I had decided to wash it." Yang explained, putting her boot back on. Boom perfect excuse!

"Is that so? So why, may I ask are you cleaning your shoe in the school's fountain?" She asked, her brow twitching.

... shit.

"Uh, well. Ya see the bathrooms were so far! And well, I barely know the infurstructour of this place! How do you expect me to navigate my way?" She explained, sweat forming on her brow. Shit, she did not need detention on her first day!

Glynda stared down at Yang, her other brow twitching as well. "Well, Miss Xiao-Long, you'll be happy to know that your I.D. card has a digital map you can download on your scroll. You also could have asked one of the older students for aid, or check at the front of the auditorium." She destroyed Yang's pathetic excuses.

"Oh, well! I'm sure am glad I know that now! I'll be sure to do that next time." Yang slowly began scooting away, preparing to bolt.

"Oh no you-" an mini explosion was suddenly emitted just a few yards from the fountain. Followed by maniacal laughter. It wasn't enough to garner any panic, but it did cause some concern.

"God dammit Peach." Glynda pinched the bridge of her nose, before turning back to Yang who was tip toeing away. "Count yourself lucky, Miss Xiao-Long, I have more important matters to attend to." Glynda then used her semblance to fling herself toward the rising smoke.

Yang just stared at where Miss Goodwitch was, before shaking her head. She was gonna be one of those teachers wasn't she?

Yang then made her way to the... auditorium? Amphitheater? Whatever, it was where everyone was meeting.

Yang slung her pack over her shoulder and made her way to the main courtyard. As she walked she noticed a bed of flowers planted with roses. Red roses. She shook her head, continuing on.

"No way! You stopped Roman Torchwick from robbing the old man's store? That's so cool!" Jaune exclaimed.

"Yeah, turns out he was stealing Dust instead of Lien. Dunno why?" Ruby scratched her chin. Truth was she had a few theories. Arming an army, selling it after the prices rose, opening a dust certainly wasn't one.

"Well, that's great now I have you and Velvet! Truth was I really didn't know what to do." Jaune scratched the back of his head sheepishly. Ruby just scoffed, jokingly rolling her eyes.

"So, what made you come?" he asked.

"Hm?" she raised a eyebrow feigning ignorance.

"Well, its just, you never seemed to like Huntsmen. Sure you don't hate them, but I dunno... just seemed like becoming one isn't something for you."

"Are you implying that I can't become a huntress, did you forget who trained you?" Ruby narrowed her eye at the blond.

"W-What? No! No, no, no, no! I didn't mean it like that! I-I was just saying that, well uh-" Jaune rambling was cut off by cute giggling.

"Oh, I'm just messing with ya!" she giggled cutely, though she winced in pain. She held her chest, the wound still aching in pain. She was healing nicely so far, her Aura and brief, minor uses of Karma healing the wound. Though she would have to take it easy for a while.

Jaune apparently noticed, looking at his friend in worry. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" he panicked slightly.

"Its fine, just I think Roman, being a crime boss and all, might have sent an assassin to try and kill me. I managed to survive, but I didn't get out unscathed." she let out a breath of air, holding her chest.

"W-Wait! You were almost killed?!" Jaune exclaimed, no wonder she didn't answer her scroll!

"Jaune..." She dragged out his name, she recognized that tone. She worked and hanged out with the blond dork long enough to notice his quirks and habits. "Its okay."

"No! Its not! What if you died? I should have been there helping you-" Ruby sucker punched him in the gut, his moment of distress causing a good distraction to bypass his Aura. He groaned kneeling on his knees.

"What was... that for?" he moaned out.

"For being an idiot." she helped him up, his Aura numbing the pain. "Jaune, you know I hate stuff like that. 'I'm sorry for your loss?', 'I should have done something!', 'It should have been me!'." she mocked in a whiny voice. "Yes, I understand your heart is in the right place, and that you worry for me, but I'm not a defenseless little girl, we've talked about this."

"I could have sneaked away from the robbery, and Torchwick would have never noticed me, but I decided to get involved. I decided to get attend Beacon. It was my decision Jaune, and I want you to respect that." she put a hand on his shoulder, her silver orbs staring into his ocean blue.

'Wow, she really is amazing.' he said to himself, his high admiration of her rising. 'But still, she's always trying to do things on her own, not wanting to burden anyone. No, its more like, she only does things for herself, and those that she cares for.'

"Alright Ruby," he smiled at her. "I'll respect your decision." they continued walking, until something struck him.

"By the way, if you're here... then's who's gonna watch the shop?" he asked.

"Hm? Oh! Uh, well you see, during my fight with the assassin, we may have wrecked the shop." Ruby sheepishly grinned.

"Huh? So like, is it gonna take a while to make the repairs? What'd you guys break?"

"Oh you know! Some Chairs, some tables, a giant hole in the first floor, a massive gash in the front of the shop, a window, you know small stuff!" Ruby whistled, her hands fidgeting.

"Wait, WHAT?!"

~ ~ ~

Ruby and Jaune had finally made it to the amphitheater, the former knowing where to go by heart after the latter failed to download the map on his scroll.

When they got there they were a bit late, seeing as there was a big crowd. Several students all waiting for instructions.

"Oh! I see her!" Jaune exclaimed, seeing Yang's golden blonde hair in the crowd. How could he not.

I mean, it's not like everyone else is just a black shadow, because there wasn't enough money in the budget! Ahaha.

"Her? Wow, Jaune already getting a girl." Ruby teased, enjoying Jaune's blush.

"Oh hush you, she's just a friend I met on the airship. Her name's Yang, Yang Xiao Long." he smiled and waved at Yang trying to get her attention.

Ruby on the other hand had frozen at the mention of the name and sight of her.

'Why is she here? Why is she here?! WHY IS SHE HERE!?!' Ruby panicked on the inside, her breathing growing heavier and faster. Flashes and memories went through her mind, too fast to process.

"-ease don't hurt me! I'm sorr-"

"You're a mistake! An abomin-"

"No Yang! I-I'm Sorry!"

"You aren't my daughter."

"SHE AIN'T MY DAUGHTER!"

With a dead expression, Ruby turned around and walked away, not even in a hurry. Rose petals falling in her place.

"Hey! Yang!" Jaune called out, finally getting the busty blonde's attention. she turned around, smiling when she noticed the dorky blond. She made her way over.

"Hey Blondie! How's the stomach?" she grinned.

"Ugh, don't remind me. This morning been's the worst. I fell into some crabby girl's luggage, and she got all pissed."

"Sheesh, that bad huh?"

"Yeah, she yelled at me, and well-"

"You!" said 'crabby girl' screeched.

"Oh god! Vietnam flash backs!" Jaune leaped into Yang's arms, as Weiss glared at the offending blonds.

"Viet- what now?" Yang repeated, holding Jaune. he also said flashbacks, did he have PTSD or something?

"Also," she unceremoniously dropped Jaune on the floor. "we just met blondie, at least ask me on a date first, before we marry." she joked.

"Wait, wha?!" he blushed, getting flustered.

Shaking her head at their stupidity, Weiss huffed stomping her heel. "You're the buffoon that could have blown us of the cliff! Do you know how lucky we were?!"

"Hey, I said I was sorry!" Jaune apologized.

"Hey, hey now. let's all calm down a bit, we all seem a bit steamed. Why don't we start with introductions?" she held out her hand, a friendly smile on her face. "Heya, name's Yang, Yang Xiao Long, pleased to meet ya snow angle!"

"Ugh, I told you not to call me that you brute." Weiss huffed, slapping away Yang's hand.

"Aw, you know you missed me!" Yang grinned scooping the smaller girl into a bear hug.

"H-Hey, put me down!" Weiss tried to hide the blush on her face. She looked away, only sparing a glance at Yang seeing her grinning at her. "Okay, fine, yes. I missed you too."

"Ahaha! Good old ice queen!" Yang hugged an arm around her shoulders.

"I said not to call me that!" the petite girl slapped her brute of a friend.

"So, you know each other?" Jaune suddenly peeped, shrinking under Weiss' glare.

"Yep, oh right. Weiss this is a buddy I just met on the airship. Jaune Arc short, sweet, ladies love it! Right Jaune?"

"Dah, uh, w-well-" he slurred out in embarrassment.

"Tch, an Arc huh? I suppose you have some worth, though you hardly look like one." Weiss examined Jaune thoroughly, like an insect under a magnifying glass.

"Well, uh, I want to make my own path. I don't want to be known as another Arc in the family, I just wanna be known as Jaune." he explained, smiling at Weiss.

Weiss eyes widen in surprise, his exclamation sounding similarly like hers. "Well, I suppose that's a good goal, but just know you've left a bad impression." she stated, pointing a finger at him.

"Ha ha, thanks." he grinned until he remembered someone. "Oh, hey we forgot my boss! Hey R-, huh where'd she go?"

"Where'd who go?" Yang looked around for anyone quirky enough to be with them.

"My boss at the cafe, she's attending Beacon too, but she was just with me." Jaune searched the crowd until he stepped in something. He looked down to see it was rose petals already dying into dust.

"What does she look like, maybe we can find her?" Yang elbowed Weiss, telling her to at least pretend she was listening.

"Huh? Oh, yes, um what's her name?"

"Oh its Ruby, she rather short, but she quick I'll tell you that."

"... Ruby?" Yang mumbled out the name, her mind going straight to her sister. Her little sister. Her little sister that'd she-

"Yang?" Weiss called out, worry on her face. "You okay?" she put a hand on her arm.

"U-Uh, yeah." she smiled, her voice cracking. "It's probably someone else named R-... her." she croaked out. she was clutching her fist so hard, her Aura was blocking her nails from digging into her skin.

"Hey Jaune, what's this Ruby's name, their full name?" Weiss asked, never taking her eyes off of Yang. She pulled the blonde into a hug, hoping she it would calm her.

"Hm? Oh, its Ruby, Ruby C. R-"

"Ahem." a voice called out gaining everyone attention. Eveyone looked up to see Beacon's Headmaster, Ozpin and its Headmistress, Glynda Goodwitch.

"I will keep this brief." He began. "You have all traveled here today in search of knowledge. To craft and hone your skills. And when you are finished, you will dedicate your life to protecting the people from the horrors that are Grimm." He paused.

"But," he deviates from the normal script. "When I look amongst you, I see a wasted future. Potential lock away, never to be achieved. I see your normal average everyday huntsman, taking jobs to keep their stomachs filled, and just enough to get by." He pushes his glasses up, his eyes searching the crowd.

"What this academy, this school, is about is not just refining your skills so that you may protect the innocent. This school of mine, is about transforming you young children, inexperienced and ignorant, into blossomed adults, ready to take the world and push the Grimm back, to fight for the people.

This school was created to defend those who cannot. For those who want to expand and live their lives not in fear, but in contentment. You are here to grow as human beings, both Faunus and Human alike. This school shall make you rethink your choice, and maybe you'll think that this isn't for you.

This school, that I have watched over since it was built, will give you a purpose, something that you may be proud of. From then on it will be your decision to decide your first step."

He cleared his throat. "That is all." He walked away, his cane tapping on the floor. Goodwitch then took over.

"You will all sleep in the ballroom tonight. Initiation for first years will begin early in the morning, do not be late. And be prepared. You are all dismissed." She walked off after the headmaster.

"Well, That was... enlightening." Weiss joked, turning toward her friend.

"Yeah, it's like he... I dunno, felt like he was trying to tell us something." The blonde scratched her head, the speech taking her mind off of her sister. "Whadda you think Jaune?" They turned to their other blond, only to see he was gone as well.

"Maybe he went to search for his boss?" Weiss threw her two cents in.

"Yeah... maybe..." Yang mumbles, her mind drifting towards Jaune's boss. She'll have to meet this boss of his, that'll get rid of any thoughts. Yeah, that should work.

"Yang?" Weiss called out, worry in her voice.

"Come one, snow queen, let's get ready for tomorrow!" She slapped the smaller girl's butt, evicting a yelp from her followed by a slap.

"Don't do that!"

"Aw, chill out Weissy, its all fun and games."

"Ugh, your puns are just as bad as I remember them."

"Woah, come on Weiss, no need to be..."

"Yang..."

"Weiss cold!"

. . .

Kill me.

"Professor Ozpin?" Glynda opened a door that led to the break room. What she saw was Ozpin had his sleeve rolled up. He had a rubber band tightly wrapped around his arm, and a syringe full of a brown liquid she could only guess was coffee.

She slowly closed the door, giving Ozpin time to get rid of all his shit. A few moments later, she opened the door to see Ozpin sitting at one of the tables, a mug of nice hot coffee in his hands.

"Ah, Glynda!" He shouts her name, acting surprise at her appearance.

Glynda fought the urge to face palm, she would have to do something about Ozpin and his addiction.

"Headmasters Ozpin, I've come to ask some questions about..." She walked in sitting in one of the seats.

"About Miss Rose, I presume?" He takes a sip from his mug, euphoria filling his being.

"Not exactly," Glynda crosses her legs, she pulls out a scroll. A file already pulled up. "Rather it about her... family." She shows an image of a photo.

The photo is showing a happy family. Taiyang is grinning, holding a laughing young Yang. Qrow is on their right, with a happy genuine smile. Then on the right side of the photo, there's a young baby Ruby. She's wrapped in a red blanket and being held by a a white cloaked woman.

From there the white cloaked woman's face is burnt off, there another person but the image is too badly burnt to discern anything about them. There some black, red, and blue, the colors old, faded, and burnt.

The room suddenly grows tense as Ozpin stared down at the photo. His thoughts going to the drunken calls of both Qrow and Taiyang, mourning over Summer's death. After a moment he speaks.

"Qrow has deeply regretted his actions deeply Glynda." He took a gulp of his coffee, its effect no longer giving him that euphoric feeling. Instead it made him numb. "The same cannot be said for Taiyang. I haven't heard from him in quite some time."

"Yes, But should we inform them of Miss Rose's well being? Or at least inform Qrow?"

"Remember, Qrow is gathering intel, and we cannot contact him for he has gone outside of the CCTV's radio transmission." He took another gulp, already halfway done. "Even so, telling him of Miss Rose would only cause distress."

"And what about...?"

"Taiyang shall not hear of this." He mug was one third full. "As for Miss Xiao-Long... I want you to keep an eye on her, both her and Miss Rose."

"I see, I'll... I'll do my best." She stood up, making her way out.

"Glynda..." Ozpin called out, making Glynda pause. "What Taiyang and Qrow did was unacceptable, but they understand the gravity of their actions. Incognito made sure of that." He took a sip, finishing his coffee. "But Miss Xiao Long was just a child, at the time. A scared, confused, lonely, child. Do not let your hatred of Taiyang and Qrow extend towards their child."

Glynda sighed, she wouldn't admit it, but she did hold some contempt toward Miss Xiao-Long. "I'll try not to." She agrees. "Also, did you happen to see Miss Rose in the crowd. I saw her get on the airship, but... I've yet to see her any other time."

"I didn't see her either, I can only assume she either didn't attend or... something came up." He stood up from his seat. On his way out he gave a pat on Glynda's shoulder. "Have a good night Miss Goodwitch, get some sleep. We have a big day ahead of us."

'I feel as if the whorls of Karma have been whirling long ago, before we even knew of the storms makings.'

The night was young, students were all changed and ready to sleep. There were still quite a few students up and awake. Some were gossiping, others were planning team formation for tomorrow, some were just there... in the corner.

"Haaaaa~" Weiss sighed gently, her body snug and tug in her sleeping bag. She had zipped it up, so she looked like a blue slug.

"Looking comfy there, snow angel. Got room for one more~?" Yang's voice flirted with her, as she flopped next to her, pillows flying up.

Ignoring the nickname, Weiss cracked open her eyes. "Yang please don't flirt with me, it's already quite late."

"Weiss, its only 8:47, there's no need to stay up so late." The firey blonde propped her head up with her elbow.

"Yes, that is true we, but we still have to get plenty of rest. We do have initiation tomorrow you know?" Weiss sat herself up, which was quite impressive since she was trapped in her sleeping bag, her arms immobilized.

"Well, yeah! I know that, it's just... I'm not really tired." Yang say up herself.

"Really? Even after chasing after the Arc boy?" Weiss questioned, her tone carrying a bit of a snap.

Yang didn't notice it though. "Yep!" She answered popping the p. "He was fun to mess with! I really wanted to meet his boss too. Though he dragged me around to help him find her. We never did though, but we did hear someone bawling their eyes out in the bathrooms."

"Ugh, why do you even want to find his boss, if anything he should bring her to us." Weiss looked at her friend, noticing her aloof expression.

"Is..." she paused, not wanting to trigger her friend. "is this about your sist-"

"Don't." Yang quietly snapped, her eyes flashing a violent red. She sighed closing her eyes, when she opened them, they were back to a cool lavender. "Sorry, its just, you know how I feel about that."

Weiss zipped out of her sleeping bag like a hatching caterpillar, before bringing her long time friend into a hug.

"Shh, its okay Yang. You've told me this before, and While what you did was wrong, you can't let it hold you back." She strokes her fingers through blonde's lush hair.

"I-" her voice cracked, tears forming on her eyes, but she blinked them away. "I know... I just, I want to see her again. I want to tell her how much I'm sorry, how I regret everything I did." her eyes began watering, but she fought them down.

She felt Weiss lay her head down on her lap. Her hand was stroking her hair now.

"I know Yang, I know." She spoke like a mother comforting their child with soothing words. "Every time you've told me, every time you've lamented you actions, and every time I've been there, I'm always listening." She leaned down and pressed her lips on Yang's forehead.

"When we find your sister, and when you confront her... well, we'll deal with that hurdle when we get there."

Yang kept her eyes closed, enjoying the cooling feeling she got from Weiss' body. She kept those words to herself, Knowing Weiss was right.

"Thanks Weiss, your the best, and I mean it."

Maybe she can overcome this, she find her sister, and when she does...

"That's what friends are for, right?"

Yeah, this is nice.

It was late into the night, very late. And somewhere in the bathrooms far, far from the ballroom, the amphitheater, or even any dorms. Ruby was sitting in one of the toilets, stark naked. Her clothes on the floor, accompanied with her red hood. She was sobbing to herself.

She had long ago ran out of tears, in fact she was beginning to cry blood, but she had luckily calmed down from her episode. Her arms had several scratch marks, all from her fingers digging into her arms.

Ruby stares down at the floor, her mind blank empty.

Until someone walked into the bathrooms.

"Woah, uh..." Ruby looked up to see a black haired girl with a bow on her head, staring at her in shock. She amber eyes were flickering between Ruby, the clothes in the ground, and the small puddle of blood in the corner.

"Are you okay?" She exclaimed, walking up to the girl. She reached out to grab Ruby, but the latter screamed out.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!!" She yelled out. The bowed girl flinched back, the intensity of Ruby's glare holding her in place. She had only ever seen that glare a very few people eyes. A glare of pure unadulterated hatred. Except this was more panic than hate.

The bowed girl just stayed a few feet from Ruby, the latter softening her glare before she began crying again. Except she had no tears, only blood.

"U-um, s-should I get someone or something?" She was not prepared to deal with this. All she wanted to do was shit in peace. As for why she couldn't just use the bathrooms near the amphitheater, no one knows.

"No!" the young girl shouted, her glare back, but lacking the hate. "Just..." she mumbled trailing off.

The bowed girl literally did not know what to do. The girl looked like she'd bite her face off if she touched her, and if she tried to leave and tell someone. That glare didn't lie on what she would do.

Her instincts were screaming at her to attack the defenseless girl. In fact she was getting the same feeling she got from when she made eye contact with the other red head. She shook her head, trying to rid her thoughts of such things.

But she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with the girl.

"Why are you here...?" Ruby suddenly asked, her silver orbs staring into the bowed girl's amber own.

"... huh?" She blurted out intelligently.

"I said, why are you here? Did you come looking for me?" Ruby snapped softly at the girl, her brow furrowing.

"Uh, n-no. I just wanted to use the bathroom." She explained poorly, trying to look anywhere but Ruby.

"... there are plenty of other bathrooms you could have used. Not only that this bathroom is quite some distance from the ballroom everyone's sleeping at." Ruby sniffled blood back into her nose.

"Well, I just wanted some privacy from the others." Why was she so unsettled by this girl?! She was so calm and apathetic. Was it because This girl was stark naked, crying blood, and having what looked like an episode?

"Pass me my clothes." She ordered as she got off the toilet. She walked towards the sinks and grabbed some paper towels to clean her face. "What's your name?"

"Wha-?"

"I said pass me my clothes. Can you hear properly?" Ruby sassed, as she cleaned her face and arms.

"Uh, yeah. Right." She walked over to the pile of clothes that were somehow on the opposite corner of the puddle of blood. She passes the sleepwear to the red headed girl, their fingers brushing against each other. "Um, Belladonna."

Now that the Belladonna was both named and closer, she could see the red head's body closer.

She was fit, thin, and lean. She had muscles, not then type most body builders would have to lift weights. No, she had muscles to run, to fight, to get shit done. She had a few scars littering her body, some were still fresh, still healing. In fact the giant wound going across her body looked like it was just stitched, bleeding a bit.

Putting on a bra, Ruby turned around, hooking on the latch. On her left shoulder blade, was a mark. It didn't look like a tattoo, it looked more like a... brand? It was circular, with symbols surrounding it.

Belladonna didn't get the opportunity to see more as Ruby put on her shirt. She turned around, her hand on her stitched wound. A flash of red glowed on her chest and hand. Except it didn't look like Aura.

'Must have been her semblance...' The onyx haired girl turned away, when Ruby looked up at her.

"I don't want to be naked in front of a perverted stranger whose ogling my body." She blurted out, catching Belladonna off guard.

"Hey! I am not a pervert! You're the one whose naked in the bathrooms! If anything you're the pervert!" Belladonna defended, her face all flustered.

"Right. Well, I'm Ruby, Ruby C. Rose." She picked up her bag, slinging it over her shoulder. "Well, I trust you'll keep this to yourself?" She glances into Belladonna's eyes, her silver orbs staring into amber.

"Yeah, I won't tell anyone. I don't want to get into any drama. Just, are you sure you're okay?"

Ruby didn't answer instead she walked pass Belladonna, the same feeling striking her psyche once again.

"I'll see you around, Blake Belladonna." She walked out the bathroom.

Blake, eyes widen at the reveal of her full name. She dashed out the restroom, ready to demand answers from this Ruby C. Rose. Only to find out she was gone, all that was left in her place were falling rose petals.

7390 words, excluding disclaimers and Author's Note.

So! That happened! Jaune knows Ruby, Ruby knows Blake, Blake's got a mini crush on a fifteen year old, Yang knows Weiss, Pyrrha holding down her murderous rage(for now), and Taiyang, Qrow, and Yang somehow wronged Ruby! Oh boy!

So, the next chapter as promised will be the beginning of initiation, where shite's gonna happen! Not looking forward to how I'm gonna plan that out. Oh the drama! The bloodshed! The romance?

Regardless, I've decide to change my schedule on how often I post these chapters. If you noticed, which I wouldn't expect ya to, I've published these chapters on a three times a week basis. That has been strenuous as I would only have two days to think up, write, edit, suffer, and post a chapter. I'm just gonna write two chapters a week, to save myself some stress, along with the fact that I can stock up in chapters.

Anyway, shit's happening, and I gotta play god. See ya next chapter!

Au revoir!
