🌹°~Chapter 8~°🌹

~~
Dear Carla,

I know we never saw eye-to-eye, but just know I never hated you. I don't know if I liked you, but I know I never thought negatively of you...all the time. Just know that I'll probably miss you, and please take care of Wendy for me.

-Sincerely (Y/n)

With Wendy

"Ms. Porlyusica!!" Wendy shouted as she ran towards the crouching woman who was watering her plants. She noticed Wendy's panicked and frantic expression, yet simply rolled her eyes and continued to water her beautiful flowers.

"WENDY MARVEL GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANCE!!" Shouted Carla in the distance. The young girl just continued to pick up her pace and ignored her feline's constant demands.

"Please, Ms. Porlyusica! Help me!!" The blue-haired girl pleaded as the elderly woman locked eyes with her before placing down her watering can and standing up.

Wendy slowly started to hault her speed, in fear of colliding with the pink-haired woman, before coming to a complete stop. She placed her hands on her knees and began to pant like a thirsty dog.

"WENDY MARVEL!!" Carla shouted as her voice became louder, indicating that she was coming closer. She was only a few feet away before finally coming to a screeching mid-air haunt after noticing Ms. Porlyusica's presence.

The older woman wore a bored and unimpressed expression as she watched both of the girls pant. Carla kept an icy glare on Wendy as she looked at Ms. Porlyusica with pleading eyes.

"What do you two want?" Her raspy voice asked. Wendy opened her mouth to speak, but Carla had begun to talk first.

"I want," she wanted," Wendy to stop avoiding me, and for her to tell me where she's been these last few days." She finished as she mimicked Wendy's panting position.

Ms. Porlyusica looked uninterested and bored with Carla's response, so she shifted her gaze towards Wendy. She had finally regained enough strength to pull herself up and place her hands on her hips.

"I'm here for your help again Ms. Porlyusica." Wendy declared in an airy tone.

Her statement caught both of the other female's attention as they both stare in the young girl's direction.

"What do you mean again?" Carla questioned. "Is this where you've been disappearing off to?" She asks.

Porlyusica ignored the exceed's question and began to walk towards her house's front door (her tree house). "I'm not helping that girl again if that's what you're implying." She states with her back turned towards the both of them.

Wendy used the few remaining bits of energy she had to jog up behind Ms. Porlyusica and tug on her cloak to catch her attention. "But why not? The spell I used last time worked." Wendy announced. Not noticing her admitting to stealing Ms. Porlyusica's spellbook.

Porlyusica harshly tugged her cloak from Wendy's grasp, and sharply turned around causing the girl to stumble back a few feet. "So you're the little urchin who snuck away with one of my books! You thought just because I'm old that I can't notice the little things?" She snarled at her. "Well Wendy, you've been highly mistaken. Leave now, I'm done with this conversation." She declared as she turned around and continued on the route towards her home.

Wendy reached out to her to plead more, but Carla flew into her field of vision as she locked her fiery coffee eyes onto Wendy's started chocolate ones.

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, CHILD!? STEALING FROM PORLYUSICA?? WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU DO SUCH A THING!?" She screamed in the bluenettes face. Her demands had fallen on deaf ears as Wendy was pondering a way to convince Ms. Porlyusica to help her.

Carla began to frantically wave her paw in Wendy's face; snapping her out of her dazed state. "Well!?" Carla shouted. "Well what?" Wendy countered in a confusion laced tone.

The girl could tell that the words that slipped past her lips weren't the ones that Carla wanted to hear. The way her expression morphed from anger, to disbelief had definitely expressed her mixed emotions on the situation.

"Were you not listening to ANYTHING I was saying!?" Carla shouted. "I asked WHERE have you been and WHY haven't you informed me on any of your current whereabouts!?" Carla screeched. The way she began to pant afterwards had shown her true exhaustion.

On a normal day it's at least a day or two's journey from the guild to Porlyusica's home. She and Wendy ran (Carla flew) there in no more than 11 hours straight.

"Carla I swear I can explain, but not right now. I need Ms. Porlyusica's help right now." Wendy said as she tried to maneuver her way around Carla; in which she failed miserably.

"NO WENDY!!" Carla screamed. The drastic change in her tone. Wendy's startled state had jumped back a few feet and placed a hand over her erratic beating heart.

"I am so sick of you avoiding me! You've been gone for days Wendy! DAYS! You haven't told anyone at the guild where you were going, you haven't been informing me on anything, and on top of that people have been going missing!!" Carla screeched. By the end of her little rant, Carla was panting and heavy as beads of sweat rolled down her ivory fur, yet she still kept her watery gaze on Wendy's wavering gaze.

"W-what do you mean people are going m-missing?" Wendy questioned, afraid of the answer she's receive.

Carla heaved a heavy breathe and fluttered down to the ground where she put her wings away and looked up to the confused girl.

"I mean," Carla panted, "the same people from the guild have been disappearing on and off again for the past few weeks." She sighed.

Wendy could feel her eyes begin to sting as she sifted through her mind the exact people who she knew had been 'disappearing'.

"Who?" Wendy asked as she bit her tongue to bite back the tears. Carla closed her eyes to ponder for a few seconds and then locked her eyes onto Wendy's.

"Um... I think it was... Juvia."

Wendy felt her stomach churn,

"Evergreen,"

Another uncomfortable knot formed in her stomach.

"Gray,"

A shot of pain flew straight into Wendy's heart at the third guild members name. 'N-no. Not again' She thought.

"And Happy..." Carla announced as her voice cracked slightly, but not enough for Wendy to notice.

Wendy cupped her hands over her mouth in an attempt to hault the sobs that threatened to spill from her lips. There was so much she to say, but a question surfaced in her mind and sneakily slipped past her lips.

"W-what about (Y/n)~Chan?" Wendy asked. She knew the answer of course, but she wanted to hear Carla's excuse.

Carla quirked one of her brows upward and shot Wendy a confused glare. "What? What do you mean 'what about (Y/n)'? She's not anything to be dwelled on Wendy." Carla said in an all-knowing, yet abominate tone as she turned her back towards Wendy and begun to in the direction that they ran from.

"Now Wendy, we have so so much to do. Since you've been skipping out, entering to and fro from the guild as you please, we'll have to make some ground rules. First off: You will always be accompanied in and out of the guild; Second: I've noticed your lack in nutrients, so we'll have to assign a diet that will balance out your- Wendy are you even listening!?" Carla exclaimed as she turned around to see Wendy stood motionlessly in her place; her bangs shadowing over her eyes.

Carla huffed an annoyed sigh as she fluttered over to Wendy, and stood no more than a foot or two away from the girl. Carla peered under Wendy's azure tresses in an attempt to make contact with her eyes.

Carla had opened her mouth to speak before her body tensed on it's own. She noticed Wendy's frozen form breathing heavy and her frail arms wrapped around herself.

Carla felt her fur spike to a rise on its own as Wendy's aura grew stern, cold, and unbelievably intimidating.

Carla's mind had begun to plaster warnings and cautions all throughout her vision as Wendy's breathing grew hoarse and ragid.

Carla decided to ignore the warnings, and she mustered all her courage within her dainty being to lift a shaky paw, and hesitantly reached towards Wendy's shoulder.

"W-Wendy? Is s-something wrong?" Carla's wavering voice spoke as her hand was a few centimeters away from Wendy's shoulder.

Wendy hastily took a step back. Carla nearly jumped out of her skin; startled by Wendy's sudden movement.

"C-Carla.." Wendy spoke, her voice sounded pained and strained. Almost as if she was struggling to hold something back.

"Y-yes Wendy?" Carla asked. "Carla... I... I don't know why you don't like (Y/n)~Chan, but I will warn you." Wendy says as she lifts her gaze towards Carla's. Locking her fiery chocolate eyes with Carla's fear-stricken brown ones.

"Please don't talk about her like that again." Wendy said in a cold, menacing tone.

She didn't dare evaluate her words as she turned her back towards Carla. "I have to speak with Ms. Porlyusica. So, expect me to come back to the guild a little later than usual. Ok?" Wendy announced.

Whether Carla approved or not Wendy was going to talk to Porlyusica, and she was going to help (Y/n). All she had to do was convince Ms. Porlyusica of course.

Easier said then done.

Carla stood there in shock. Frozen in her place as she processed Wendy's words.

She wanted to argue back, she wanted ensure her dominance/guardianship over the girl, she wanted her to turn around and apologize.

But she knew she wouldn't.

Carla knew that she was the least of Wendy's worries right now. She knew that her overruling barriers were in the very back of Wendy's mind.

Carla knew that Wendy cared for (Y/n). She knew that they were close. So so close. They were always near each other. There was never a far distance in between the two girls. Wendy was the overly clinging one, but nothing (Y/n) couldn't handle.

Carla remembers having to go to (Y/n)'s dorm room to bring Wendy home on most nights. No matter how much she pled with Carla she'd always end up in her own bed by the end of the night.

Carla would never admit to it, but she was so so so jealous of (Y/n). Well, not really (Y/n) herself, but her close relationship with Wendy.

She always envied their close talks, and their pet names, their girl's nights (that Carla was always invited to, but never showed up), and so much more.

Carla had never had a close relationship with (Y/n), nor did she want one. She'd rather glare at her than have a decent conversation. She prefers cutting (Y/n)'s personal conversations off, and talk about her and Wendy.

She's rather hate her being, rather than giving her the opportunity to get to know her.

And that's the way Carla had preferred it. But, as she watched Wendy began her slow pursuit towards Porlyusica's door she pondered.

'What makes (Y/n) so important to have gained all of Wendy's attention?' Carla pondered.

Wendy had been too focused on her declaration to Ms.Porlyusica in that moment. She rubbed her temples in an attempt to fish out the right words that she would hope get to Porlyusica, yet none surfaced.

She took a deep breathe raising a shaky hand towards the splinter-infested wooden door before she feels a light tug on her dress.

She looks down to see her feline companion standing there; paws clutching her dress and obvious tears streaming down her face.

The scene before her made Wendy's heart clench in an uncomfortable pain. Aching to the point were Wendy had to bite her lip to fight the building tears that had begun to well up in her eyes.

"W-Wendy..." Carla spoke. Her voice was raw and wavering, a sign signaling Wendy that she hasn't cried in a while.

Carla's words had trailed off. It seemed as if she was pondering a question that would be safe enough to pass her lips. A question that wouldn't angry Wendy, one that wouldn't be disrespected towards (Y/n).

Wendy watched impatiently, as she witnessed the gears churn and buffer inside of Carla's mind.

Carla had tightened her grip on Wendy's dress to the point where her claws had started piercing holes into Wendy's dress; but it's not like it bothered Wendy.

"W-Wendy," Carla spoke with a little more confidence, "what's wrong with (Y/n)?" Carla asked in her most sincerest tone.

The exceed felt Wendy's body stiffen under her grasp, and she watched her quivering lips part as the sputured her response.

"She has Hanahaki." Wendy answered. The words felt foreign as they left her lips, and they left a bitter taste on her tongue.

Carla responded with a gasp of disbelief as she felt my tears slide down her already tear-stained fur.

She unlatched her claws from Wendy's dress and used them to cup her mouth and being whimpering.

Wendy wiped the tears that have made themselves known and threatened to fall. She sniffled once or twice, then wiped her runny nose with her bare wrist. She turned towards Carla and spoke.

"Y'know Carla, no matter how many times I say, I'll never get used to it." She said. "I-I want to- no, I'm going to help (Y/n), and I'm going to stick by her through thick and thin. I will never understand why you don't like (Y/n)~Chan, but now is not the time." She says.

She pauses for a moment to let Carla process her words, but not long enough before she continued.

"N-now Carla, I want you to return to the guild." She announced. "I don't have time to explain myself, but I need you to go back to the guild. Tell everyone that I'm okay. I..." She paused before trailing off. "I-I don't plan on returning until I know she's cured." She finishes.

Carla's eyes widen and heavier tears stream done her already damp fur. She shuts her eyes tightly, and wraps her small arms around her trembling form before looking Wendy dead in the eye.

"W-Wendy," Carla being, "I-I trust you." She announced. She knew Wendy understood, then she drew her pearly ivory wings from her back and began to effortlessly flutter.

"P-please take care Wendy. Make sure you come back to me ok?" Carla said as she turned around, preparing to take off. "Oh, and also," she turned her head to lock onto Wendy's curious chocolate orbs, "bring (Y/n) back to us ok? I...I wouldn't mind getting to know her. Acquaintances would be an accepted way to communicate and slowly progress I suppose." She mumbles the last part.

Wendy watched her exceed begin to flutter away. A proud grin etched onto her pale lips, and subconsciously wiping away a stray tear.

After a moment of silence, Wendy quickly bites back her towering emotions and begins a hearty stride towards Ms. Porlyusica's house.

She reaches the shabby door, and just freezes. Her breathe hitches in her throat as she had just realized that she knocked on the Porlyusica's door.

She wanted to just burst in the home and demand a cure for (Y/n) that instant, but she knew that she couldn't.

So many scenarios played throughout her mind in mere seconds before finally settling on one that would definitely ensure Porlyusica's trust, loyalty, and power.

Wendy had begun to lift her trembling right hand before she was cut off by a startling monotone, and raspy voice.

"Don't touch my door." Spoke the voice. Wendy's eyes darted towards the source of the voice, and met the fiery gaze of Porlyusica.

"M-Ms. Porlyusica! You scared me." Wendy said as she placed a hand over her erratic speeding heart. The elder woman rolled her eyes and began shutting the door. Well, she would've shut the door completely if it wasn't for Wendy's foot being jammed in its place, halting its movements.

Porlyusica's face quickly flashed from pissed off, to annoyed as she glare right into Wendy's frightened eyes.

"What are you still doing here? I thought you and your flying flea bag would've left by now." She snarled.

Wendy flinched at the remark, but still held her ground. "You know why I'm here Miss. I just want to help (Y/n)." Wendy begged. "I know I stole from you and I'm so so sorry. But please..." The girl paused. She had heard her voice crack which she knew would be followed by tears. She shut her eyes closed and gripped onto her dress. "Please please help her!!" Wendy bawled.

Porlyusica looked at the bawling child with bored eyes and stepped back.

"No." Porlyusica growled. "It's gonna take a lot more than a few stray tears to change my mind, Marvel." The woman snarled before closing the door once again.

The door was stopped again by Wendy slamming her arm on it, stopping in it's place.

"I-I'm sorry Ms. Porlyusica." Wendy began. Her head was tilted down as it casted a shadow over her eyes. She lifted her head to lock a dangerous gaze onto to the elder woman's slightly startled crimson gaze.

"But I'm tired of playing nice."
