Sweet Nothings
This is Willy's POV in a heartwarming scene in Chapter 9 of the Candy Paint fanfic, set just when Vic wakes up from her full-scale freakout and faint earlier. This was done with the full permission of the author @texarkanatacoma, and Vic belongs to them, and the Willy's Wonderland film to its creators.

Vic lay in Willy's lap, on one of the tables of the Super Happy Fun Room, limp and unconscious, while the freaked-out weasel was desperately trying to wake her up ... with tiny nudges and pats. But to no avail. He glanced up at his friends who were standing around him, for support. None of them looked supportive however, just angry.
"She trusted you, Willy," the girl chameleon said angrily. The weasel winced at that.
"Why'd you have to do it, huh? She thought you were her friend, and friends don't hurt each other," Sara shouted, stomping towards to him.
"I know, I know, I really messed up-OW!" Willy yelped and tried to block with one paw as the furious siren then started hitting him over the head. "Sara, stop hitting me!" he bellowed. Sara relented and stopped, but still glared at the weasel.
"Si te gustara, no habrías hecho ese truco," (If you liked her, you wouldn't have pulled that stunt) Tito added. Willy nodded miserably. He knew that the turtle had a point. Tito had always been very sensible and intuitive.
"You need to be the one to fix this," Sara verbally prodded at him. The animatronic weasel sighed as he looked down at the girl.
For the first time in his sentient life, Willy the Weasel felt remorseful about doing something bad to a human being. It was another completely new feeling to him, one that stressed him out a bit. I shouldn't have lost my temper! I shouldn't have! Stupid, stupid weasel!
What on Earth had he been thinking; assuming that she was trying to kill him, chasing her down, and nearly devouring her?! No wonder she'd mistaken the weasel for Jerry, he was just as bad as that no-good, serpent-tongued, pig-brained, wastrel of a-
"She's awake," Cammy said, interrupting Willy's train of thought, and making him immediately look down at Vic. The weasel felt a marvellous sense of pure joy as he saw Vic's eyes slowly open. She then began to shake a little and cuddle closer to the weasel, sobbing.
"It was a dream!"
Willy assumed immediately that she was talking about what happened earlier and felt very guilty, as he knew that it hadn't been a dream.
"Um, Vic, I-" The weasel stammered a little, as his anxiety began to get the best of him. Vic instantly sat up, the sudden jump almost causing her to fall off Willy's lap ... if he hadn't caught her in his arms just in time. The weasel saw her eyes widen with fear and cringed a little.
"You."
On a sudden impulse, Willy tightened his grip around Vic as she immediately started thrashing and kicking, trying to get away. The other animatronics backed away to the door, in order to give the duo some space.
"Girly, breathe for me. I'm not here to hurt ya'," the weasel said, feeling distressed at her want to get away. Vic didn't listen at all.
"He's here, Jerry is, and he's gonna kill me. You're gonna kill me!" she shrieked. Willy momentarily wondered whether her intense panic had made her hallucinate a bit.
"Vic, please, it's just me", the weasel murmured reassuringly. "Jerry is dead, and I will NOT hurt you, I promise." He rubbed her back as Vic continued to cry.
"I just saw him, w-we were just in here." Willy's eyes widened as he then understood. She had a nightmare about Jerry? Oh, Vic, I'm so sorry! He tightened his grip even more as her writhing increased even more.
"Just hold still, lemme make it right. I'm not gonna let go until I do." Vic's eyes were still wide and terrified, the trust in them temporarily gone. That really hurt Willy.
"He's gonna hurt me, you're gonna hurt me."
"No I ain't. I promise you, you're safe." The weasel tried his best to soothe her, as her struggling calmed down a tad. "Just please, stop cryin'. Ya' don't know how painful it is for me to watch." He was telling the truth there. Vic then looked up at him.
"Maybe you should've thought about that earlier," she said, pointedly.
"What I did has no excuses. I was wrong." The weasel's ears flattened as he spoke.
"You have a lot of explaining to do," Vic said quietly.
"I know, I know, just calm down first," Willy pleaded with her.
"If you're trying to strangle me, just finish up already," Vic groaned and muttered.
"Ya' know I ain't lettin' ya' go," Willy sighed as he pointed out the obvious. Vic seems to then finally give up.
"Fine. You want me to stop, I'll stop," she said. The weasel smiled happily as she did. So far, so good! Willy adjusted his grip slightly, which resulted in him holding Vic bridal style, which made him blush inwardly slightly.
"I cannot, and will not hurt you like that ever again," Willy said soothingly. Vic whimpered a bit.
"I trusted you."
The weasel felt like whining at that. He had to tell her the truth, he just had to ... or at least part of it.
"I cannot tell you how much you mean to me, girly. There's somethin' about ya' that just radiates good things. Ya' came here today afraid. But you did it for your brother, Luke. Ya' could have very well bailed. But you didn't. Ya' put your trust in all of us tonight, and I was the one to go and blow it."
Willy's cheeks felt like they were on fire, and getting hotter with every word.
"I overreacted over somethin' stupid. I should've realized what I was doin', but I was just too caught up in the fact I was gonna lose you again." He saw Vic look a bit surprised at that.
"Lose me, huh?" She questioned.
"Yes, lose you, girly. Do you know how long it's been since I've last seen you?"
"Uh, since this morning?"
Willy shook his head, trying to explain better.
"No, no, like before that. About eleven years. Eleven years without seein' my favorite birthday girl. So when ya' went to leave, I panicked. I wasn't thinking about you, I was only thinking about myself, and that was the wrong decision. I realized a long time ago how badly the whole Jerry situation affected ya', and it's my fault for puttin' ya' in a position to remember it."
"Yeah, it is," Vic remarked sarcastically. The weasel didn't take offence, because he knew that he deserved the rebuke.
"And I tried to blame ya' for gettin' upset about our situation. Anyone in their right mind would be freaked about it, you had every right to feel how you did."
"Thanks."
"So please, accept my apology. I wish there was more I could do to make it better," Vic seemed to pause for a moment in thought. Willy waited expectantly ... and hopefully.
"Apology accepted," the girl said, genuinely smiling at Willy now. The weasel almost fell over as a giddy mix of pure happiness, adoration, hope and relief swept over him.
"Oh goody. I almost thought ya' were gonna hate me foreva'," he said, the tension leaving him.
"Don't get your hopes up, I'm still trying to calm down," Vic said sarcastically, but her now hugging arms betrayed her true feelings. Willy felt over the moon with joy now.
"Well that's what I'm here-" He looked up from Vic, and stopped speaking for a second as he saw all of his animatronic friends with big smirks on their faces. "Would y'all just stop starin' for one moment?" Willy spoke tersely, flushing a bit.
"We just wanna make sure you're not gonna eat her face off," Ozzie replied. This caused mutters and giggles from the others. And a bonk on Arty's head from Knighty.
Now Willy was flushing in full. The other animatronics had teased him for AGES in the past, when they'd found out about him wanting to kiss Vic passionately. He actually still wanted to, really, but he didn't know how to ask. Willy then smirked. No harm in teasing though.
"I'm not gonna eat her face off. Yet." He almost laughed out loud at Vic's shocked and slightly flustered expression. Ozzie and Arty then joined in with their own teases, making Vic gasp, and become even more flustered.
"Y'all are actin' like children," the weasel sarcastically said, trying not to giggle with them.
"At least we're more mature than you," said Cammy, tauntingly. Willy just rolled his eyes and turned back to Vic.
"Don't mind those dorks, just take your time to relax", he said. Vic seemed calmer now as she relaxed in her weasel's cosy embrace.
