Stuck in Stubbornness - Part 4

This is the fourth and last part of the Stuck in Stubbornness oneshot, allowed by @stillducky. In this part, Knighty Knight's elbow is fixed ... but Honey Bee gets justifiably concerned about the recklessness of the mascots. I hope that you guys like it! 👍

—————

Back in Willy's Wonderland, the dining hall ...

Knighty Knight clears his throat loudly, as his teammates all turn to glance at him pointedly.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I did!" the armoured robot stated, with the remnants of his dignity.

The knight then pointed with his left hand at his frozen right arm, grimacing as he did so. Knighty was starting to get cramp badly in the stuck limb, even though he was a machine now!

"I was just punching the air in joy at getting more prey to hunt tonight, and my right arm suddenly stuck like this!" the animatronic warrior explained, whining a little.

"I can't move it at all, you see!" Honey sighed at the complaint, smiling wryly as she puts her hands on her hips.

"Again, Knighty?" she asked, in a slightly sassy voice. "This makes it the FIFTH time in this week that your sword arm has got immobilised!"

The aforementioned animatronic's cheeks heated up with embarrassment at the very thought. His comrades only shot each other amused glances as they watched the young woman then walk straight towards the knight robot.

She eventually stopped in front of him, and reached under Knighty's frozen elbow, and unzipped it.

"Seriously, you'll have quite the record if you go on like this!" Honey Bee muttered, as the zip peeled back the chainmail and cloth to reveal the animatronic endoskeleton beneath.

The young woman then leaned in close as she inspected the various gears and wires in the knight's elbow. Willy and the others quickly crowded around the duo to watch.

From her place next to Cammy, Siren Sara cocked her head as she watched Honey work. A twisted smile then appeared on her face as a funny idea came to mind.

"Hey Cammy! Do you think Knighty here is roleplaying the Tin Man? You know, that chap from the 'Wizard of Oz' who's always getting frozen?" the robotic fairy quipped, elbowing the chameleon playfully.

Cammy smirked back at the obvious taunt.

"I see what you mean", she teased. "I also see that someone's been watching that movie too much on Honey's TV!"

Knighty Knight instantly flinched at the embarrassing implication, clanging down his helmet ... in a futile attempt to hide. The aforementioned woman, however, just rolled her eyes.

In recent times, the two girls of the animatronic mascot crew had become more than a bit engrossed in watching movies with Honey on her new TV. Cammy's favourite show was Eastenders.

Sara's favourite movie was the Wizard of Oz ... and she had NEVER stopped talking about the film since watching it!

Ignoring Sara and Cammy's ongoing giggling, Honey Bee tapped a few of the gears, and then tried to turn them. Failing at that ... the young caretaker gave a satisfied huff!

"Found the problem! The primary gears in your elbow are badly rusted, Knighty!" Honey explained. "Any big strain on them, like lifting your arm up high, will cause them to jam."

Knighty Knight looked absolutely aghast! The other robots all backed away a little, in similar shock to their armoured comrade.

RUST?!

It was something Willy and his crew should have really kept an eye on, to tell the truth. Also, this revelation gave rise to a very disturbing thought ... did they have rusted parts too?

The weasel and the others all glanced down at their own bodies, with pretty anxious expressions. Unaware of her other friends' consternation, Honey Bee tweaked a few wires in Knighty's frozen limb ... and then looked up at his face with a thoughtful look.

"Maybe ... you should stay out of the hunt tonight, Knighty?" she suggested, inwardly knowing his likely answer. "Just for tonight? Jed can fix your elbow problem tomorrow?"

The knight huffed loudly at Honey's words, clanging his visor back roughly.

"Stay out of the hunt tonight?!" he spluttered, with an incredulous expression. "No way! Sorry, Honey, but I do have my reputation to uphold!"

Knighty Knight then smiled as he heard loud cheers and shouts of agreement from his other friends around him.

"Yeah!"

"We do as well!"

"Show these teens who we are!

"I agree!"

"Sorry, Honey!"

"We're tough!"

The young woman sighed deeply at her animatronic friends' sheer recklessness, and rolled her eyes too.

Stubborn as snakes sometimes, they are!

Honey then suddenly turned around and walked back across the stage, and through the right side glittery curtain. In almost no time at all, she returned with a large oil can in her hands.

Willy Weasel smiled approvingly at Honey. One thing he liked about her, was the woman's resourcefulness and ability to solve problems in many ways.

Honey Bee then walked back to Knighty, and began to oil the gears in his exposed elbow.

"Okay ... the oil will help your elbow joints to move freely for the moment", she said as she finished, zipping up his now fixed limb.

With only a slight screeching noise this time, Knighty Knight brought his elbow right down ... and back to his side again. The jubilant knight robot twirled his sword around a few times, before putting it back in its sheath.

"Brilliant job! Thank you, Honey!" Knighty said honestly, bowing to the young woman.

Willy, Sara, and Tito all murmured in agreement ... patting their caretaker friend on the back (Willy and Tito), and hugging her (Sarah and Cammy).

Honey Bee's face then became serious.

"But Knighty, you really should get Jed to do a proper repair job on this! For your own sake!" she said firmly.

The animatronics shivered a little under the new tone of her voice, even Willy. Honey was using the 'Mama Voice' now.

"I want you to promise me, Knighty! Promise me that you won't lift your sword arm up like that again, until after it's fixed, okay! Especially not tonight!"

Not wanting to admit that he could be intimidated by someone who was not his boss, the animatronic knight made a big show of fake, sassy reluctance.

"Yes, mum", Knighty said in a whiny voice, rolling his eyes. Honey then kissed him on the forehead gently, leaving the aforementioned animatronic flushing and shyly smiling.

The big weasel then cleared his throat loudly, drawing everyone's attention again. Now that Knighty's elbow was fixed, they could get back to their long-awaited, favourite pastime.

"Right, well, now that that's over ... we'd better get back to our hunt! Isn't that so, guys?" Willy said, nodding in satisfaction to the resulting cheers.

"Off you go, Honey Bee! We'll tell you when it's finished, and safe to come out!" he then explained, gently shooing the young woman towards the right side curtain.

The young woman nodded, turned and walked towards it. On the way, Honey suddenly halted ... only just realising something!

Her robotic buddies were only five in number! Arty, Ozzie, and Gus weren't there! The woman had been so focused on fixing Knighty Knight that she hadn't really noticed that before.

Freaking out a little, Honey Bee hurriedly scanned the dining hall for any signs ... and her gaze eventually was caught by the sight of the two full garbage bags, to the right of the front door.

"Oh."

That single word fully emphasised the young caretaker's realisation, her expression filling with sadness, stress, and tension.

Sensing that Honey might go into a potential panic attack, the animatronic weasel decides to do something that he'd hardly ever done to ANYONE!

He hugged Honey Bee, in a very fluffy, comforting way.

"There, there, Honey ... everything will be okay. Gus and Ozzie inadvertently got a bit damaged during the early hours of this current hunt.

Jed will fix them up tomorrow morning, and they'll be right as rain! Perfectly fine!" Willy whispered to her, patting her on the back.

He then frowned.

"As for Arty, the old greedyguts seems to be hunting solo tonight." The serial killer chief then drew back from the young woman, and gestured to the right side curtain again.

"It'll be all right, Honey Bee, nothing else will go wrong! Just don't worry about it!" Honey gulped a little, but then nodded with a brave smile.

As the young caretaker then turned and walked through that glittering curtain again, she heard the whirrs of the animatronics beginning to dance again, behind her.

Honey Bee also heard the thud of robotic feet, and the harsh, jangling music of the mascots' song.

"Look at all these naughty birthday boys and birthday girls! I think it's time for them to go, Knighty Knight!" Willy Weasel spoke, loud and exultant.

Stay safe, my Knighty, she thought, her face once again gaining a worried look.
