Happy Show
This oneshot is based entirely on a great idea suggested by a good friend of mine on here: CakeyStoryteller. Full credit to them!
Ozzie Ostrich loves to dance, lol!
----
"Hurry up, Oswald, the restaurant's about to open!"
A tall, skinny, bearded young man with a red cap sighed and rolled his eyes at the shout. "In a minute!" he muttered. Oswald was currently lying under the Ozzie Ostrich animatronic, fiddling around with the robotic circuitry under the feathers on Ozzie's tummy with a screwdriver.
"You're gonna be in trouble!"
Oswald scowled and stuck his head out from under the animatronic. "I've nearly finished, Sara!" he bellowed before pulling his head back. He grumbled as he rearranged some of the components. "Bloody siren, can't she ever be patient?!"
"T-R-O-U-B-L-E!"
"I've nearly finished, Sara!" He pulled his head back under and did a final twist with the screwdriver. Oswald grinned and patted the inactive ostrich robot on the chest. "All done, Ozzie! You're gonna be the star of the show, no-Owwwch!"
Oswald had just then made the stupid mistake of sitting up while still under Ozzie. "Darn it!" The red-capped employee cursed and wriggled out, rubbing his head. A giggle greeted him, along with a pair of feet in blue ballet shoes.
"Oh my, that was hilarious!" Oswald scowled up at the young woman standing over him, dressed as a fairy ballerina in blue. "Ha ha, thank you ... for not helping, Sara. I KNOW that our shifts are starting!" Sara folded her arms and raised an eyebrow at Oswald, smirking.
"If Jerry finds out about your tardiness, you'd be tending to the mop and bucket next!" she said in an annoying sing-song voice. Oswald flushed angrily.
"I was doing it as fast as I can!" A rather terse voice then interrupted the rapidly growing argument.
"Have you finished, guys?"
The two employees instantly turned their attention to the plump man in the propeller beanie who was walking over to them. Jerry Robert Willis: restaurant owner by appearance, serial killer and cult leader in secret ... and Sara and Oswald's boss. He raised an eyebrow at Oswald.
Oswald instantly sprung to his feet, flushing. Sara flushed too, her smirk disappearing.
"Yes, Jerry! I've just finished the installation of the new dancing software into Ozzie Ostrich!" Oswald said nervously.
The restaurant owner nodded approvingly with a wry smile. "Good, well, let's see if it works for today! You two, open the doors and I'll start Willy and his band up. Sara and Oswald both nodded and walked over to the double doors. Jerry then walked over to the stage animatronic controls on the wall, and looked at the robots.
"Show time, guys!" He flicked a switch and set the controls on 'just dance'. The animatronics came to life, in their jerky, yet funny motions as they began to dance on stage. Oswald and Sasha then opened the doors to let the daily customers enter.
The children of the various families coming in clapped in excitement at the sight of the dancing animatronics. The other members of Jerry's crew then set to work turning on the spotlights for the stage, lighting up the animatronics. All of them were dancing in their usual friendly and silly way.
Jerry and Oswald's gazes were both completely fixed on the Ozzie Ostrich animatronic. Oswald's boss had grown dissatisfied with Ozzie's dancing over the past few weeks, and so had told the aforementioned employee to make the ostrich move better.
Oswald had then put in a new computer chip and more flexible metallic ball joints into the big bird animatronic. As he watched, Oswald crossed his fingers and hoped that this worked. If not ... he would most likely be regulated to janitor work for the rest of the week.
Ozzie's new dance began with him rocking from left to right, and back again. The audience's attention was quickly drawn to Ozzie's new moves. The ostrich then started kicking his feet out parallel to his swinging wings, luckily not bashing into his instrument.
Some children in the audience started copying Ozzie, much to their parents' amusement. Jerry and his staff laughed as well. Ozzie then started wobbling his head around in time with his rocking from side to side. This caused a lot of laughter from the kids. Oswald saw Jerry smiling, and grinned himself.
The animatronic dance show continued for five more minutes, before finishing with a flourish. Each robot did a different pose as they stopped, one by one. Ozzie's finishing pose was a bow, with his wings spread out, and a confident leg stance.
The audience of customers all started applauding, the children especially loudly. Oswald clapped as well, feeling happy, proud of himself, and also relieved that he didn't mess up this time. He walked over to the motionless Ozzie and patted his beak.
"We did it, bud! We did it!" There was a chuckle behind the red-capped Oswald.
"You certainly did, Oswald." The employee whirled around to find Jerry, smiling at him. "Ozzie is a much better dancer now, and the children love him even more! Well done, Oswald!" The skinny, ostrich-loving man grinned in relief.
"Thanks, Jerry!"
"Now as a reward ... you were going to be on janitor duty tonight, but I'll let you off because of your achievement today," Jerry Willis said while nodding thankfully.
He flicked a button on the wall controls and the animatronics immediately started dancing and singing their usual party song. He then turned and walked off towards the Super Happy Fun Room. Oswald sighed in happiness before suddenly smirking and rushing after Jerry.
"Sir? Maybe Sara could take over janitor duty tonight, you know how enthusiastic she is ..."
As Willy Weasel and his friends sang, the weasel's gaze roamed around the room.
Before settling directly on you.
Willy seemed to smirk at you.
"Have you been to my Super Happy Fun Room yet?"

Please vote and comment if you like this! I'm sorry if the dancing doesn't resemble Ozzie's style in the film exactly, I just tried my best. Hope that it's good!
