Acting on your best behavior

Nothing ever lasts forever

Grian stood at the edge of the shopping district, tears flowing down his face, as he watched the flames consume the last builds that managed to survive longer than the others. The rest of the server looked just as bad, if not worse, seeing as the Watchers decided to leave the best for last

Speaking of the Watchers..

Some of them stood behind him, laughing at the pain they've caused him, while the others stood in the empty circle in the middle of the island, making sure none of the hermits would try and escape.

Not that any of them would, seeing as most of them were dead or badly injured. It was more of a show of power for the Watchers than actually controlling the last living hermits.

Seeing them there filled Grian with anger. It was just like in EVO, when the Watchers burned down the server and forced him to watch, as punishment for his dislike of the watcher ideologies.

However, the watchers didn't know that, unlike last time, he actually knew how to use his Watcher magic.

Back near the end of Season 6, Grian decided to tell Xisumma about his magic, which led to the admin revealing that he too was an ex-watcher. During the 7th season of Hermitcraft, X trained Gri daily on how to use it, and at the time the raid started, he was basically done with his training.

He had to act fast

He turned back and fired a large blast at the group behind him, knocking them off the cliff and sending them back to the hell they came from. He then ran to the ring of fire, summoning his sword. He fought the watchers, killing 3 of them, when sudeenly he is disarmed by the fourth, who was about to kill him, when a blast of magic hit him in the head, killing him instantly. Grian looked over to see a weak Xisuma sitting, barely managing to keep himself up. Around him, all the hermits were on the ground, dead.

X looked up at Gri, his eyes filled with pain and remorse. He spoke up.

"Are- are there any left?"

Grian shook his head

"No, that was the last of them."

Grian bent down and hugged X, tears flowing down his face once more

"I'm so sorry X, it's my fault they're dead."

"No it's not Grian, look at me."

He pulled up the young hermit and forced him to look at him

"There's one spell I haven't taught you yet. It's really complicated,  and dangerous to do alone. It's called the reversal spell, and it'll take back the time to where you want it to. Only those who cast the spell will have the memory of what happened afterwards. Once we're back, I'll change the code so the Watchers are killed on entry to the server. That sound good?"

Gri nodded, and then pulled X back up to his feet. X held his hand up to the sky, and Gri followed.

X muttered a string of words in Galactic-Latin, and Gri copied him.

The air was filled with a strange, shimmering purple cloud. Suddenly, there was a massive white flash, and they were standing in X's tower, exactly as they were an hour before the raid.

"Grian! You did it! I'm so proud of you."

X hugged him, then ran off to his room so he could get on his computer and change the code

Meanwhile, Gri stood there, relief washing over him. The server was safe, thiS wasn't a second EVO

Nothing ever lasts forever
