Kanakara: A fictional disease that causes a plant to grow inside the person's heart due to suppressed emotions. Positive emotions will have a larger effect than negative emotions. Watchers and ex-Watchers are the most vulnerable due to their nature to suppress all their emotions. Kanakara is usually confused with Hanahaki, as the two have similar symptoms. Kanakara, however, is much more deadly, and can kill the victim anywhere between a day and a year from formation.

Formation: Kanakara starts out as miniscule seeds that forms inside the heart. These seeds can only be detected by a very specific spell. After that the seeds will merge together into a singular core, about the size of rose bud. The person will usually experience a light sense of discomfort, and the core can be seen with the same spell used to detect Hanahaki. After that comes the formation, where the plant starts to grow. The person will usually feel a sharp, stabbing pain in their heart, but at that point it might be too late

Ways to prevent Kanakara: Don't surpress your emotions.

Treatment: In the seed stage, Kanakara can be treated with a simple early-hanahaki treatment. In the core stage, stronger treatment is required, such as removal spells or an advanced Hanahaki treatment. In the formation stage, a strong removal spell is needed, alongside quite a long and painful recovery process.
