Jungkook's dad couldn't stop crying over the phone. Even when he said he will mail him a copy of his ultrasound, the alpha had adamantly cancelled his overseas schedule and said he was going to come back to stay with them for a few days.

He gushed over the cute art on his stomach and recalled the time Jungkook's mom surprised him with the news. "She was sure it's gonna be an omega," he said. "And she was elated. Your mother was over the moon."

Jungkook smiled. "Minmin says he wants a sister." His voice was full of fondness. "So I hope it's a girl."

"Did you decide what you want to call the pup?"

Jungkook nodded and glanced at Jimin. "I was thinking of calling her Ming. It's derived from Chinese and it means bright or brilliance. Also it's gender neutral." He smiled sheepishly at the alpha. "I'm sorry I couldn't ask you yet. What do you think? Do you have anything else in mind?"

Jimin shook his head. "Ming is perfect." He kissed his head. They were all snuggled in the nest. Minmin was hugging his stomach, refusing to move because he was protecting the pup.

"Ming is perfect," grandpa Jinwan gushed. "Gosh I'm so happy I feel like I could fly. I can't wait to spoil her."

Jungkook laughed. "Of course you'd say that. Come home then, Papa. I miss you."

"I'll be on my next flight home, bun. I'm not missing this for anything," he promised.

Right then, their doorbell rang once and he heard the door being unlocked. "It's Yoonie hyungie and Tae Hyungie," he said. "They must be bringing us dinner."

His dad nodded. "Alright, I'll let you go then. See you tomorrow, pup. Congratulations, Jimin. I'm so proud and happy."

"Thanks, dad."

[Meanwhile]

Mr. & Mrs. Park – after their first meeting with Jungkook.

"What the hell were you thinking?" Mr. Park yelled. The veins on his neck popped as he glared at her. "I told you to let me handle it."

They were back at the Park Hotel's presidential suite. Mina sat at an armchair in the sitting area with an expression laden with guilt and regret.

"I-I'm sorry," she whispered. "I should have watched my words."

"I told you to let me handle the situation," he hissed. "You challenged the teacher working there and none other than a Jeon omega. Do you have any idea where this would lead us to?" He ran a hand through his hair. "What am I going to tell Mr. Jeon if he calls me? This could ruin everything. Crap. If the media ever caught wind of this we are done for."

"I didn't know," his mate sobbed. "How am I supposed to know a Jeon omega would be at a kindergarten?" She recoiled when he growled. "I wasn't thinking clearly. I acted impulsively and gave into my wolf instincts."

He ran a hand through his hair. "It's not just you." His shoulders slumped and he plopped on the seat opposite to her. "I shouldn't have involved Lee Dae-won in this. Now he lost his job because of me." He rubbed a weary hand over his face. "I would compensate him for it, but we made things worse. Jimin is furious because of this. I don't know if he will ever allow us back in his life. He said he always knew about the family tree."

"I can apologize," Mina volunteered. "That Jeon kid has always been respectful. I've seen him when he was young. It was my fault I didn't recognize him. I'll also apologize to Jimin."

Mr. Park didn't answer for a long moment. "It's not that simple." He reclined in his seat, suddenly looking several years older than his age. "I...I didn't believe him when he told me that she's pregnant. I thought she was trying to tie him to her using an excuse when we didn't accept her."

"She's a fucking snake," Mina hissed. "You saw her. Our intuitions were never wrong. She was never the right fit for him. She was using him."

"But Jimin refused to see it," he exasperated. "If I hadn't cut him off, she wouldn't have left him." He hung his head. "I thought I was doing the right thing. That he will realize it when all that bliss fades away. But he cut ties with us and never called back."

Mina sniffled. "Of course, he did. He's your blood. He will be as stubborn as you. I shouldn't have listened to you." She wiped her cheeks. "Now he hates me. I just didn't want him to choose the wrong omega."

Mr. Park scoffed. "Jimin said it's up to Jungkook," he said in a small voice. "That it's his decision whether he wants us to meet Minjun or not."

"But he's our grandson," Mina cried. "Jungkook...he-he's his stepfather. Why is it his decision?"

Her husband shook his head. "There you go again," he grunted. "You heard him. He called Minjun his pup and said he's the next heir to the Jeon pack."

"But..." She exhaled in exasperation. "He did not give birth to him. You know how wolves are. We never accept other pups as ours. Not the purebreds at least. He cannot be serious."

Mr. Park looked thoughtful. "I don't think so. His wolf confronted you and challenged you head on when you talked about the pup. I don't think it's that simple."

Mina deflated. "What do you mean?"

"His wolf was threatened and he was ready to protect and defend the pup. I don't think whatever bond they share cannot be simply labeled as something between a stepfather and step son." He exhaled. "There is more."

Mina frowned. "I don't understand. How could a purebred wolf love a pup that isn't his?"

"Imprint," Mr. Park whispered.

"What?" She gasped. "T-That's rare. It's not that easy."

"It's rare but not impossible. His wolf surfaced in response to your challenge. I saw his claws and how his fangs elongated when he felt threatened. Such a visceral reaction is possible only if it's his own pup or that he's imprinted on the pup that their bond is much deeper than it is with such type of relationships."

She nodded as she slowly processed the information. "What do we do now?"

"We need to go back to Busan and think about it a little more. Right now, it's not a good time. You poked a possessive purebred wolf. He won't forgive you easily. Let's just leave it a bit to rest."

Mina looked troubled but nodded. "Okay."

She didn't want to accept it that easily but she realized she had no choice. She'd heard about the Jeon pack omegas. They definitely came with an extra bone and a sturdier spine than other omegas. The head omegas from the other packs not only respected them but also feared them.

Fighting or challenging a Jeon omega has never ended well for anyone. Maybe people forgot what it was like to be in the presence of a purebred omega after the former head omega passed away. The current one was respected only because of her position, but no one feared her.

However, Mina remembered. She felt that shiver down her spine when Jungkook growled. His wolf was authoritative and strong. Just like his mother.

She sighed. "I really hope he will give us another chance."

Her husband only nodded in answer.

Two weeks later. [That is the day after tannies have a feast to celebrate the good news.]

"I'm sorry," Mrs. Park said. "I took some time to reflect on my actions and I apologize for the way I behaved when we first met." She didn't meet his gaze and her scent was tinged with regret.

Jungkook didn't know if she truly meant her apology. If the regret in her scent was because she really regretted her actions or regretted the fact that she had to apologize to someone younger than her. They once again sat in Mr. Shin's office. Mr. and Mrs. Park looked remorseful, silent for a longtime before she broke the silence with an apology.

He stared at her for a long moment. Jungkook was skeptical when Mr. Shin said they were here to meet him again. He just didn't expect them to apologize like this.

"We were in the wrong. I wish we could start over again," she suggested. "We want to make amends."

Mr. Park, who was quiet until then, broke his silence. "We didn't know who you were. Even if that was the case, we realized how wrong it was for us to do that. We really had no intention to harm the pup. Age really affects your way of thinking and we were acting on impulse. I apologize for that."

Jungkook sighed. "I'm not the one you should apologize to." He stood slowly. "The person you hurt is not me. I accept your apology for what you did the last time. Thanks for coming when you didn't have to. If there's nothing else, I should get going."

"Wait!" Mr. Park jumped to his feet. He looked troubled. "I...I guess you're already aware of the situation with Minjun's mom."

"Minjun doesn't have a mom," he stated coldly. "He has a dad and that's me."

Both looked stunned for a moment, no words escaping their mouths for a moment.

Mr. Park cleared his throat after a moment. "Right. We...ah, apologies." He shifted from one foot to the other. "Um...so ah, that girl visited us a couple of weeks ago and said some things that made us uncomfortable." He eyed his mate and then reached inside his pocket. "A friend of mine works with the leading newspaper. He gave me this yesterday."

Jungkook took the envelope from him with a frown. Upon opening, he saw a headline that was sure to start a scandal. "SHOCKING: Popular model Lee Haneul's recent visit to Korea and the biggest secret behind it," the headline read.

"It's a rumor but the content hints that she had a pup secretly and the father is reportedly from one of the prominent packs in Busan," Mr. Park continued. "Though it doesn't explicitly say it's my son, it won't be long before it comes to him. I stopped the news from going out and informed all my contacts to keep an eye for it."

Jungkook nodded, pocketing the envelope thoughtfully. "Did she say what she wants when she visited you?"

Mr. Park shook his head. "She wanted to meet Jimin." He glanced at his mate. "She had no idea where he was. When we refused to give in, she said she has her way and that she will have the pup back in her custody one way or another."

Jungkook's frown deepened. "She signed away her rights."

"Jimin told us." Mr. Park exhaled. "We are sorry it became like this. We should have handled the situation better."

"Yeah, you should have."

"Wait..." She stopped him again. "You...You're..." Jungkook glanced over his shoulder to see her nostrils flaring a little. He had stopped using scent blockers after finding out he was carrying. Her eyes widened. "You're expecting," she whispered.

Jungkook smiled. "I am."

"C-Congratulations." Now there was real emotion behind her words and he saw Mr. Park also faltered a little. His nostrils too flared and understanding dawned on him.

"Thank you." He tried to walk away again.

"Please..." she pleaded. She fidgeted with her fingers, looking extremely troubled. "We missed out on everything about our son's life and it's because of our stubbornness and foolishness. Will you consider giving us another chance?"

Jungkook sighed, weighing his options. "My only grudge on you is because of how you treated my mate in the past and how you were never there for my pup when they both needed you. I appreciate that you want to make amends, but you should apologize to my mate first. You hurt him the most." He turned toward her. "Prove to me that you're a good mother first. I'll decide if you can be trusted with my pups."

This time when he walked out, no one tried to stop him.
