I see many of you are a bit confused with the pack system.

Let's consider these packs like a district/county authority. A Head Alpha of a pack could be someone similar to a Mayor or whoever controls that territory. They all come under one umbrella "Pack Regulatory Authority" with a President who rules the country.

Pack Regulatory Authority is like a council who is there to ensure a peaceful existence between the packs.

Any disputes among the pack is brought forward to them and they try to solve in accordance with their law. Just see them as a legal body for pack disputes.

Wolves are divided into purebred and regular wolves. Purebred wolves hold a higher hierarchy, they're stronger in every sense. They provide and protect the regular wolves. The purebreds do not often mate with regular wolves though it is allowed.

The pups born for a purebred/regular wolf pair could be either a purebred or a regular wolf.

Lastly, Sohee isn't related to Tae. Tae is a purebred wolf, who is also the youngest son of the Head Alpha of the Kim pack, who seemingly keeps a low profile.

Though he is rich, he follows his own passion, but is also in a very good relationship with his family. He hasn't kicked out Sohee because Jungkook told him to let him be.

Yoongi is from an influential family in Daegy who migrated to Seoul to be with Jungkook.

Yoongi's family is relatives of the Min pack's head alpha though they're not in direct power. They have several family members who are in higher positions in the government.

And yes, I'm bringing our lovely Juwan (from Endless Love) back for a cameo because I love him.

Min pack is known for their headstrong omegas. And yes, Tae's family is aware of their courting and head over heels for the Min omega.

Our doctor Kim and art collector Kim are from the Seoul pack. Though they're from prominent families, they are not that influential. Just our next door guy types. Same with Hoseok.

Seokjin has many contacts because he's a doctor, but that's all. It won't be fun if everyone is all powerful and mighty, eh?

Purebreds:

Regular wolves:

Their wolves are mostly dormant. Previously they were able to shift during full moon. But the modern generation doesn't shift anymore. They cannot shift at their will.They do have an inner wolf but they aren't truly connected to them like the purebreds are. Hence they cannot be use their wolf's strength or senses much.

As for your question regarding the mating/marriage:

1. Traditional Mating: Mating by biting each other's scent gland. In modern world, only purebreds do this. This is permanent.

If one mate died, the other prefers to stay alone for the rest of their lives. The mark fades away with time. But they won't be able to form a similar bond with anyone else. Like they can marry but cannot mate by biting another wolf. 

Regular wolves will have to wait for their heat/rut to mark each other in a traditional way.

2. Marriage: It's like human marriage. Both purebreds and regular wolves do this. The couple who want to dedicate themselves to each other, wait for their heat/rut to bite each other.

Marriage/mating process:

1. They can date anyone they want. But to marry and make it permanent, they must apply for the head alpha/omega's approval. In majority of the packs, marriage, children and such falls under a head omega's control.

2. When they apply, they also must go through a medical checkup. This is to determine if they're related by anyway and see if their mating would affect their future bloodline in anyway.

3. Once this process is done, the head omega approves their mating/marriage and then once it's over, their information goes to the pack regulatory authority. It's just like registering a marriage.

4. Jungkook and Jimin also went through this, since Jinwan is a head alpha, there is no wait. It was done in a jiffy. However, it took sometime to make changes in the family registry and get the approval from the pack regulatory authority.

5. Since there are so many requests, there is usually a wait time. It's done on first come first serve basis. No one can cut through the line. Only exception is given to the head alpha and his family since they're responsible to keep their bloodline going for the safety and security of the pack.

6. Getting pups out of wedlock is frowned upon. But in the modern world they let it slide. However, it can still ruin one's reputation.

7. As a head alpha's heir, Jimin would have been forced to marry his ex if his father hadn't removed him from the family tree. Mr. Park was aware of it. I'd say both parties were in the wrong.

Jimin was headstrong and was loyal to his love. Mr. Park was stubborn and was drive by his pride and ego. At that time, he was acting purely on impulse. His attitude was like "what would you do if I cut you off?"

However, as we see, their actions only worked in our favor later. Haneul lost her hold on Jimin because of this. She couldn't force him to marry her or ask for benefits that came with it because he wasn't a member of the Park family anymore.

Later when she saw Jimin exiting the jet, she thought the family took him back. Hence it would be a good time to dig her claws into the pack.

The pack laws are complicated. As a mother she would be able to turn the tide around if not for Jungkook.

8. Family registry cannot be changed and accessed by just anyone. Only Head alpha and head omega can access it. To make changes like to add or remove members, they would have to make a request to the pack regulatory authority.

That's why, Jimin cannot be added back to the Park pack now.

9. Last but not least, an omega always follow her mate when two people from different packs marry the omega will transfer to the alpha's pack. So technically though Seoyeon was born in the Jeon family she now belongs to the Kim pack because she married an alpha from the Kim pack.

So in order for Sohee to come back to the Jeon pack she needs to marry Minhyuk who is a Jeon pack wolf. It's her necessity. That combined with their family bond, then she'd become a runner up for the head omega position if Jungkook doesn't take it up or if he doesn't have a heir.

There is a loophole. An alpha is expected to mate and bear a heir before they turn 30. For head omegas it's before 27. Only married alpha or omega can become a head alpha or head omega.

However, they can still take over the pack without fulfilling these requirements if the situation calls for it. They would have to make a special request to the pack regulatory authority. They would receive 3 to 5 years time to marry and bear pups. If they did not fulfill this condition, then someone else can challenge them for their position.

However, the person who is challenging must fit the requirements and have to prove that the current head alpha/omega is incompetent.

Imprint:

Imprint is rare but not uncommon. It's recognized and respected.
