After bidding adieu, Kathir and Jisha started to the school.

Jisha: chithapa, annna yen kanna chithapa oda ponanga, nama kooda yen varala?

Kathir: darshan ku exam iruku la, adhan...

Jisha: anna dan tamizh exam easy nu solichu....

Kathir murmurs: oh easy nu sonana, innaiku iruku paper correct panumbodu avanuku.....

Jisha: chithapa, enna thaniya pesitu irukinga?

Kathir: onnum illa da....

Jisha: aaman, nama innaiku thatha paati veetuku poroma, school mudinjadum?

Kathir mv: sabba....idha thavara unaku vera eduvume keka illaya da?

Jisha: badhil solu chithapa......

Kathir knew why his uncle was calling him, he knew what will be the point of discussion. His wedding with his cousin, Shwetha..

The concept of marrying cousin was something that didn't sit well with him. He has always considered Shwetha nothing different from Kanna. He really wished she would also think of him in the same way.

Its not that he is against marriage within family, but this thing isn't for him.

How does he explain it to his uncle and his family?

He practically grew up with Shwetha, he was 6 years old when she was born, he had seen her growing up from being a small baby to a toddler to a sweet little girl to a teenager and to a matured girl. He had seen all the phases of her life just like she had.

He always had this wish right from his teenage about how he would like to marry. He wanted the initial meet as a stranger, then like a character in her, admire small small things she ll do, get to know her over time, fight with her, argue with her, fall head over love, propose marriage, get that nod from her, and then make her as his wife.

He wanted the course of journey to start from being a stranger to being his wife, his child's mother. That was the life he had dreamt, nothing less than that.

He didn't want to marry his cousin like his Jeeva anna nor did he want to marry any family friend's daughter like his moorthy anna. He is no way telling their life or them as a couple are faulty, but he is not cut for it.

These were not the dreams he had weaved today or yesterday, it was something which was rooted long back even before he had stopped his formal education.

But, he knew how much of a hard task, that is going to be, be it in his uncle's house or his own house, they were too much rooted into the traditions and castes. Though his family does have modern values, they still hold onto the age old customs of religion and caste, which he really wants to remove.

Every time he sees or hears the news of honor killing, his blood boils. Provided an option, he wishes to remove the "Caste" section altogether from the society. It is almost futile to fight with the elders, he knew where to sow the seeds, it needs to be into the minds of the future generation, it is a thought that needs to be nurtured when they are young.

That's also one of the main reason he chose to be a tamizh teacher instead of tamizh professor, after his degree. School gave him the perfect spot for giving out his ideas, those are the pillars of our future and he believed in molding them.

But, that's his long term goal, for now his focus needs to be on his short term goal. On persuading his family against his marriage, as early as possible.

Kathir: aaman da jisha kutty, inaiku mazha illati nama innaike povom seriya.

Jisha: okey

And the ride continued and they reached the school premises. He made sure Jisha didn't slip anywhere and he left to his staffroom calculating all the plans to stop his wedding.

A hand on his shoulder brought him out from his mental calculation.

Pugazh: kathir, tamizh teacher aa irunditu enna kathula kanaku potitu iruka?

Again this is not Sekar, this is Pugazh, who has nothing to do with Unknown love story's Sekar.

Kathir looked at his friend cum colleague, Pugazh. He was the Physical Training Instructor in the school. He was a state level basket ball player, but his passion to teach the kids had made him a PT master. Pugazh and Kathir have a very vague bond right from school days.

They used to meet in the Inter District and State level meet. Kathir was a good athlete during his school days and Pugazh used to shine in games. A small hello and hi friendship had bloomed into a really strong one in the past one year.

Kathir: adhelam onnum illa, chumma dhan.

Puga; patha apdi therilaye?

Kathir: ada onnum lla, kalyana prechanai dhan.

Pugazh: oh apdi podha kadha, unaku love marriage dan pudikum, un veetla suttu potalum othuka matanga adhu dane...

Puriyudhu, seri vidu unaku nu oru devadhai engayachum irukamala pova...

Kathir: aaman idhelam pesara edama staff room.

Puga; nee dhane kanavula kanaku potitu irundha. Ipo enna solriya.....

By then almost all the teachers were coming in and they stopped their convo and went about to do their work. The God of rain was at a tiff with him and as a result, they had to start back home without dropping in at his uncle's house owing to the heavy rains. But, in the backseat of the car, he saw two happy faces. For sure the prayers of multiple students were listened, and the government had ordered rain holidays for two days followed by Saturday and Sunday giving the kids a continuous 4 days off.

The moment he reached home he did inform to his mom and his uncle on how he couldn't drop in due to rain. Once he had cut the phone, he came to the hall and he was more than happy to see both his annis cooking experiments.

He was welcomed with the sight of his wooden teatable filled with an oval plate containing coffees, teas, and milk and two circularly cut plantain leaf filled with vaazhapoo vadai and molaga bajji. He relished them and went to his room, not before giving a whack to his nephew just like how he used to give one to his younger brother.

But he returned within few minutes, with a bundle of papers. One end of the bundle had threads hanging and they were held together with a red color elastic band.

That was a vision which could make Dharshan become a runner, but he was held back by strong hands.

Kathir: enga odara?

Dharshan: adutha exam ku padika..

Kathir: ohh...tamizh dane .....iru un paper dan first correct pana poren ...adha pathitu poi sir PUBG padicha podum.

He removed elastic band and pulled out the roll number 10 paper, and opened his pen cap giving a final smirk to his nephew.

Dharshan was forced to sit next to Kathir, praying to all the Gods he knew, for getting spared from his chithapa's sarcastic praise during the paper evaluation.
