( season 3  : episode 4 - mouth candy; part one )

Juniper, Henry, and Ray were setting up their radio show in the Man Cave. Why they were making a radio show? Juniper wasn't really for sure, but she just went along with it. She sat between the boys, putting on headphones as the boys connected the wires with the sound system. 

When they were done, Henry puts his headphones on. Ray leans on the table and speaks into the microphone, testing out the microphone to make sure it works. "Test. Test one. Puh. Puh puh. Potato pants..."Juniper glances at him weirdly and chuckle as the man continues. "Pretty Polly wore purple potato pants to her Purim party in Pittsburgh."

"Did you come up with that or?" Juniper questioned, her voice trailing off with an amused smile on her face.

Ray looks back at her with annoyance. "You, shush."

Juniper giggles slightly, glancing at Henry and shares an amused look with him. Ray glances at Henry. "Henry, how does that sound?"

"Not gonna ask me?" Juniper asked and playfully pouted.

Ray points at her. "No, you made fun of me." 

She just stuck her tongue out at him, playfully defiant. "How could I not though?" 

Ray glared at her, crossing his arms. "You're enjoying this way too much."

She nods, smirking. "Of course."

Ray rolls her eyes, glancing over to Henry to ask again how did it sound. Henry chuckles and leans over to press the button to speak into his microphone. "Painful. Please p'stop." He said, adding a 'p' when he said stop. 

"'Kay," Ray drags out the word and nods. "Let's start the podcast!" 

Henry grins. "Alright, let's cast our pod."

Ray claps his hands excitedly. "Yeah!" He began counting down as he got ready to record them. "In five, four, three, two..." He presses the button to record them and drags out the word 'hello' and 'too' when he spoke. "Hello! And welcome to..." 

Together, the three of them sing together, "Deep in the Man Cave!" Ray then pressed a button on his laptop which played some heavy metal music. After a few seconds, he turned off the music and spoke into his microphone again.

"Yesiree, this is the very first podcast starring your very own Captain Man," Ray paused, glancing at Henry and Juniper, signaling them to speak. 

"Kid Dang-" Before Henry could finish, his phone dings, notifying him he got a message. "Hold up, I got a text." He picks his phone up. "Sorry." 

Juniper looks at Ray, raising her eyebrows at seeing how annoyed he looked. "Dang it!" Ray yelled, unplugging his headphones from the sound system and throwing them across the room. Henry and Juniper jumped, startled by Ray's sudden tantrum. Ray stood and turned to face Henry with annoyance, throwing his arms up out of frustration.

"Look, this isn't live, we can just start again." Henry suggested.

"Okay, uh, why don't we just start World War Two again?" Ray asked, his voice laced with annoyance.

"Yeah, how about no." Juniper remarked.

"Why don't we call Leonardo da Vinci, and say, uh," Ray pretends to be calling someone. "'Hey Leon, could you just build the Eiffel Tower again?'"

Juniper exchanges a confused look with Henry since they both were confused why Ray was so upset about this. "Okay." Henry drags out the word, looking back at Ray along with Juniper. He gestures for Ray to sit down. "Take two."

With an upset expression on his face, Ray joins the teens at the table. Henry grabs another pair of headphones from the box by him and hands them to Ray. Ray puts them on and Henry plugs them in to the sound system. Ray counts down, but this time he didn't sound as excited or happy as the first time. "In five, four, three, two..." He presses the button to record. "Hello!" He greets in a more cheery voice. "And welcome to..."

Once again the three of them sing, "Deep in the Man Cave." Then Ray pressed the button to play the heavy metal music for a few seconds. "Yesiree, this is the very first podcast starring your very own Captain Man..." He looked at Henry and Juniper, signaling for them to chime in.

Henry leans over to his microphone, pressing the button to speak into it. "Kid Danger."

"And Dash." Juniper chimed in after she pressed the button to speak into her microphone.

Ray smiles widely. "That's right. So, Henry, Juniper," Juniper's eyes widen and she looks at Henry with panic. He looks at her with wide eyes as Ray continues. Juniper figured he must've not realized he just exposed their real names. "A couple months ago, the three of us got into a little scuffle with the stupidest criminal in Swellview, a guy named Jeff. Remember that guy? What a character he was, huh?"

"No, dude, dude." Henry covers his microphone, signaling for Ray to stop talking. He takes his headphones off. "You called us by our real names."

"Can't hear what you're saying." Ray shook his head.

Juniper rolls her eyes, reaching over to take Ray's headphones off. "Ray, you called us by our names. Can't do that."

Henry nods. "You gotta call us Kid Danger and Dash."

Juniper leans away, her eyes widening slightly when Ray angrily threw his headphones off. She and Henry watches with surprise as Ray let out a yell, throwing the headphones onto the floor, and then got up. "Okay, that one wasn't my fault." Henry commented and Juniper pointed at him in a sign of agreement.

Ray faces the teen with an upset expression. "Can we just do the ding-dang podcast?" 

"Sure." Juniper nods, gesturing to his empty chair. "We're waiting for you to join us." 

Ray had a pout on his face as he sat down and he outstretched his hand, signaling for Henry to give him another pair of headphones. Henry did and he plugged them in to the sound system while Ray put them on. "In five, four, three, two..."  Ray presses the button and then speaks in a cheerful tone. "Hello! And welcome too..." As the three of them sang, "Deep in the Man Cave." the backdoor opened and Charlotte walked in, calling out to them.

"You guys!" 

"Aw, come on!" Ray shouted, taking off his headphones.

"Ray-" Juniper started with a grimaced expression.

"Please don't..." Henry pleaded, looking at Ray with annoyance. He gently grabbed Juniper's arm, pulling her away when Ray angrily stood, causing his chair to be pushed back. Ray threw the headphones on the ground and kicked them, sending them across the room.

Charlotte's eyes widen and she steps to the side, looking at Ray with surprise. Ray outstretches his arms, glaring at Charlotte. Henry lets go of Juniper's arms, turning to look in the box of headphones to find out the box was now empty. "Okay, that's it," He said, picking up the box and flipping it over to prove his point as he looks at the others. "We're out of headphones, so..."

"No podcast." Juniper sighs. "If Ray didn't keep having those tantrums we probably would've gotten through one recording." Ray turns to look at her with a harsh glare that caused her to flinch and scoot her chair closer to Henry. Henry puts a hand on her her hand that rested on the table to comfort her, rolling his eyes at Ray as the man yells, "Shut up!"

"We have an emergency!" Charlotte exclaimed.

"What, what is it?" Henry asked with his voice laced in annoyance.

"It's Jasper!" Charlotte replied and her friends groaned. As Henry groaned, he took off his headphones with his other hand. 

"What did he do now?" Juniper sighed. Despite the fact she didn't want to move her hand away from Henry's, she did and took off her headphones.

"He says that some crazy man is at school, setting a bucnha snakes loose in the hallways!" Charlotte explained.

Juniper's eyes widen. "Snakes?" She whimpers, shaking her head as she looks scared. "Yeah, I'm not going."

"I'm sure it's nothing." Henry reassured her, sending her a reassuring smile when she looked at him with fear in her eyes. Juniper nodded, hoping that Henry was right. Juniper was afraid of snakes. She didn't have a bad experience with them, she just was afraid of them and hated them. They just creeped her out. 

"I guarantee you that's not happening." Ray pointed at Charlotte.

"But Jasper sent me a-"

"Oh, who cares?" Ray interrupts Charlotte. He uses air quotations when he said 'emergency'. "Last week Jasper called in an 'emergency'  'cause he saw a cloud shaped like a dinosaur."

"Yeah, remember Fourth of July." Henry speaks up and stands, walking over to where Charlotte and Ray stood. And as he speaks, Juniper joins them. "When he got all freaked out by the fireworks 'cause he thought America was being attacked by Canada?"

"Yeah." Ray scoffs. He puts his hands on his hips, shaking his head. "I'd like to see Canada try to attack us.

Charlotte rolls her eyes. "Well before you guys ignore this, you better watch this video Jasper just texted." She showed them the video Jasper sent. The video was of Jasper in the school's hallway and snakes were everywhere in the hallway. The video ended with him saying he needed backup.

Henry sighs. "C'mon. We gotta go check this out."

"Are you sure?" Juniper nervously asks. "I'm sure he'll be fine."

"Yeah." Ray agrees. "Why do we need to ruin our afternoon to go help Jasper?" He asked angrily. 

"Ooh, somebody's got his 'manties' in a bunch today." Charlotte commented.

Ray looks at her with a small glare and defensively says,  "Uh, Idon't wear 'manties' thank you." 

"Ray..." Henry scolded him.

"I wear boys undewear." Ray added.

Rolling her eyes, Juniper gets the gum out of her pocket and puts one in her mouth. She blew a bubble the same time the boys did, each of their suits appearing as they blew a bubble. She followed the boys over to where the tubes were at and she went to hers that was in the middle. Yes, she finally has her own! After countless times of asking for one, Ray finally caved in and got her one. The three of them pressed the button on their belts which signaled for their tubes to come down.

"Up the tube!" Henry spoke.

"Stupid Jasper, I swear that kid-" Ray angrily said, his sentence being cut off as the three of them shot up.

When Juniper arrives at the school with Henry and Ray, Henry opens the double doors, walking in along with Juniper with Ray trailing behind them. "Hey, we're here." Henry called out. 

"Finally! What took you so long?" Japer asked, walking over to his friends.

Henry points at Ray. "He made us get shaved ice." 

"I like the watermelon." Ray said with a mouth full of shaved ice.

Covering his face wiht his hands, Henry repeats what Ray said. "He likes the watermelon." Juniper sympathetically smiled at him, patting Henry's shoulder. She could tell that Henry was annoyed with Ray and she didn't blame him because she was kind of annoyed with him too. Plus the fact he didn't offer to get her or Henry any made her a bit upset with him. 

Henry takes his hands off his face, sending a small smile to Juniper before he looks at Jasper. "Hey, what's up with these snakes?" 

"I don't know." Jasper said, his eyes widening when he noticed something behind Henry, Juniper, and Ray. "Look, there's one right over there." 

Juniper yelps, moving closer to stand by Henry and holding onto his arm when she saw a snake by the trash can that's near the door. Henry held onto her hand with his right hand, moving back slightly as well with wide eyes. Ray looked at Jasper and rolled his eyes.

"Oh, you mean this fake snake over here?"

"It looks real to me." Juniper mumbled.

"How do you know it's fake?" Henry asked Ray.

"I don't think it's fake!" Jasper shook his head.

"Yeah." Henry agreed.

"Oh, c'mon..." Ray threw his cup of shaved ice in the trash can and Juniper watches with wide eyes as he picks up the snake. "They sell these things for five bucks a pop at the Swellview county fair."

Henry, Jasper, and Juniper start to speak, trying to tell Ray that's a real snake. "You seriously thought this thing was real-" Ray interrupted his own sentence with a scream when the snake hissed at him. He threw the snake across the room, screaming 'it's real'. He ran over to the others and Juniper stepped to the side, watching with an amused expression when Ray jumped into Henry's arms.

"Will you quit bein' such a baby?" Henry inquired and set Ray down.

"Oh, look," Jasper notices some more snakes on the stairs and points them out. "There's more snakes over there!"

After seeing the snakes, Henry lets out a high-pitched scream and jumps into Juniper's arms. She chuckles, looking at him with an amused glint in her eyes ."Whos being a baby now?"  She ignored the fact she felt her face heat up because of the fact Henry jumped into her arms. She was a bit more surprised though that she caught him. 

Blushing faintly out of embarrassment, Henry quickly gets out of her arms. "Sorry." He muttered.

"It's okay." Juniper reassured him, sending him a small smile.

Henry clears his throat, speaking in his normal voice. "W-Well how'd-how'd they get here?"

Jasper points at a guy by the stairs he tied up. "That freak brought 'em! I saw him pulling some snakes out of a sack so I hit him with that fire extinguisher, and tied him up with those extension cords!" Juniper raised her eyebrows, glancing at the tied up guy and nodded. She had to admit if this was a bad guy, Jasper did a great job at tying him up. She followed Henry and Ray over to the tied up guy and Henry took off the helmet that covered the guy's head, revealing Jed the Janitor.

Jed breathes heavily, looking at Jasper with a glare. "You!"

Jasper's eyes widen with surprise. "Jed the janitor?!"

"I swear I hate you more than I hate myself." Jed told him in an angry tone. 

"Okay, will someone tell us what's goin' on here." Henry spoke.

"Well, I-I saw-"

"I'll tell ya what happened!" Jed interjects, stopping Jasper from continuing. "This school has rats! So, I rented this protective suit and helmet, and bought twenty-five snakes so they'd eat the rats!"

Juniper nods. "Makes sense." She whimpers when one of the snakes near them hissed and she steps closer to Henry. "I still hate snakes though."

"See? No emergency." Ray said, shakig his head with an annoyed look on his face. He steps over Jed. "I knew it...I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! Way to go, Jasper!"

Jasper starts to defend himself, but Ray interrupts him. "But I-I-I-"

"I'm gonna be talkin' about this on my podcast," Ray angrily points at him. "You can count on that."

"Uh, could I please be untied?" Jed asked. 

"Right, sorry." Juniper apologized and she and Henry went to start to untie him, but stopped when they heard someone yell out in pain. They walked over to where Jasper and Ray were closer to the front of the school, surprised to see their teacher Miss Shapen on the floor. 

"A snake...A snake bit my elbow." Miss Shapen explained.

"Uh, that's our teacher, Miss Shapen." Jasper told Ray.

"Oh yeah." Ray nods. "Uh..." He glances at Henry. "Kid, go handle that."

Henry looks at him with wide eyes. "Wha-I don't know how to handle a snake bite!"

"Just go over there, put her elbow in your mouth, and suck out the poision." Ray explained.

"Why don't you do it?" Juniper raised her eyebrows at him.

"I don't want to. That's gross." Ray responded.

"Exactly." Henry nodded, crossing his arms. 

"It's the only way to save her life, now get over there and suck out that poison!" Despite Henry protesting, Ray shoved him over to Miss Shapen.

As Henry reassures Miss Shapen everything was going to be alright, Jasper looks back at Ray and Juniper with a smile despite the fact Ray looked at him with a glare. "Hiya." Jasper smiled nervously, punching him in the chest.

"Okay." Jasper's smile fell as Ray continues to speak. "For the next two months, I don't wanna hear about anymore 'crimes' from you. We clear?"

"What if I see a burglary in progress?" Jasper asked and Juniper rolled her eyes as Jasper and Ray went back and forth while Miss Shapen groaned in pain in the background. 

"You shut up." Ray nodded.

"What if I witness road rage?" Jasper inquired.

Ray points at him. "You shut up."

Jasper asks another question. "What if I hear a ticking bomb?"

Ray puts his hands on both of Jasper's shoulders and smiles. "Just chill. Oh, and," He takes his hands off Jasper's shoulders and points at him. "Shut up."

Jasper rolls his eyes, shakig his head. "Go untie that self-loathing jaitor." Ray demanded, pointing at the janitor who was still laying on the ground tied up.

As Jasper walks away to go untie the janitor, Juniper puts her hands on her hips, looking at Ray with a disappointed expression. Ray raises his eyebrows at her. "What?" 

"Don't you think you were a little harsh with Jasper?" Juniper questioned.

"Nope." Ray shakes is head and walks towards the door. "C'mon, Kid Danger and Dash. We've got a podcast to do." 

Juniper turns her attention back to Henry when she heard Miss Shapen say, "Don't spit it into my purse!" She grimaced, looking at Henry with a sympathetic smile.

"You good, Hen?" Juniper asked softly, walking over to him with concern in her eyes.

"Never doing that again." Henry muttered.

Juniper chuckles, throwing her arm around his shoulders. "Come on, let's get back to do the podcast before Captain Man has another tantrum."  Henry chuckled, wrapping his arm around her waist with a smile and the two best friends walked out the school together.

Soon the trio were at the Man Cave in their regular clothes and sat back at the table after they got more headphones from the back. "Captain Man, Kid Danger, and Dash-first podcast, take four" Ray announced, glancing at Henry and Juniper with a smile. They both smiled back at him. 

"Hello and welcome to..." 

The trio then sing in unsion, "Deep in the Man Cave." After heavy metal music played for a few seconds, Ray then repeated what he has said four times.

"Yesiree, this is the very first podcast of Captain Man-"

An alarm blares, alerting the trio that there was an emergency in Swellview which interrupted Ray. "Ah, fudge and kumquats!" Ray exclaimed as Henry and Juniper took their headphones off and walked over to the computer. Juniper rolled her eyes when she heard a thud, knowing that Ray threw his headphones on the ground again. When she heard another thud, she looked behind her, her eyes widening when she saw Ray had kicked his chair. 

"You good?" Juniper asked him, tilting her head to the side and smiling slightly with amusement.

Ray pouts. "No."

"Guys, pop a gum ball, there's somethin' goin' down at that store, Mouth Candy." Henry explained.

Ray puts his hand on the auto snacker. "Gimme a roasted chicken."

"Roasted chicken." A computer voice repeated. 

Juniper shares a confused look with Henry before she looks at Ray with confusion. "What's the roasted chicken for?"

"Dude, you don't have time to eat a chicken!" Henry pointed out, walking over to the tubes along with Juniper.

"I'm not gonna eat it." Ray said, taking out the tray the chicken is on when it was done. Juniper's eyes widen and she yelped when Ray threw the chicken in the direction she and Henry stood. She had quickly stepped to the side, grabbing Henry's arm and pulling her with her so they both would avoid getting hit. The teens looked at Ray with offense.

"Dude!" Juniper yells, letting go of Henry's arm and threw her arms up out of frustration. "You almost hit us with a roasted chicken!"

"And that chicken did nothing to you." Henry added.
