( season 3: episode 3 - scream machine; part one )

Charlotte had called everyone to the Man Cave which was why Juniper was sitting on the steps nearby the machine that was covered by a grey sheet, scrolling through Instagram feed on her phone. Charlotte was under the sheet, working on the finishing touch on her machine she made for the Gizmo Show that was in a few days. 

The Gizmo Show was when kids all over Swellview would make their own inventions and present them to everyone and then they would win a prize. It was pretty important. Charlotte got second place each year and so she was determined to get first place this year.

"Okay, I'm here." Juniper glances over to her left to see Ray and Schwoz walking into the Mancave. "What's up?"

"Uh, Charlotte wants to show us the new project she made for The Gizmo Show." Henry answered from his place at the super computer, pointing over his shoulder at the machine under the sheet. 

Ray tilts his head to the side, looking at the blonde-haired boy with confusion. "The Gizmo Show."

"What's a Gizmo Show?" Schwoz questioned.

"Oh, it's this huge competition they have every year," Henry stands up and walks over to Ray and Schwoz. "Where kids bring all kinds of cool machines and inventions they've made-"

Schwoz yawns towards the end of Henry's sentence. "And they show to the-" Henry stops in the middle of his sentence as Schwoz stops yawning. The blonde looks at Schwoz with a bit of offense. "I'm sorry, was I boring you?"

"Yeah, little bit." Schwoz nodded.

Henry presses his lips together, trying to not look hurt. "Okay."

A small giggle left Juniper's lips, causing Henry to roll his eyes even though he had a small smile on his lips. He couldn't stay annoyed with her especially when she had a cute giggle. 

"No," Ray drags out the word, looking at Schwoz. "He's tired 'cause he hasn't slept in two days."

Raising her eyebrows, Juniper gets up from the steps to join Henry, Ray, and Schwoz. "You seriously haven't slept in two days?" She asked Schwoz, standing beside Henry. She was surprised Schwoz hasn't slept in two days and wondered why.

"Yeah," Schwoz replies to Juniper. He shrugs. "But Henry was also being boring."

Ray looks up from his phone he held and nods. "True."

Henry looks at them both with offense and Juniper smiles with amusement, patting his arm to comfort him. Schwoz yawns again and walks across the room as Juniper puts her phone in her pocket and crosses her arms. "Okay, why hasn't Schwoz slept in two days?" Henry inquired, glancing at Ray with furrowed eyebrows.

"Ah," Ray rolls his eyes. "'Cause he was bingewatching that mini series about OJ."

"Mmmm," Henry hums in response, raising his eyebrows. "The one about that big trial from the nineties?"

"No." Schwoz shook his head.

Juniper glances at Henry with surprise. "You know about that?"

"You know about that?" Henry asked her while looking at her, equally as surprise as she is. 

"No," Juniper chuckles. "Just wondering if you actually knew about it." 

"I've heard about it." Henry admits. "Don't know much about it though."

"Got it." Juniper nodded in realization. It made sense now. Sure, Henry was smart, but stuff like trials from the nineties weren't something he was interested in so that's why she was surprised that he might know it. 

"Schwoz watched the one about orange juice." Ray explained, causing Juniper and Henry to exchange a look of confusion before they both looked at Schwoz.

"Yeah, it's called 'OJ: From Farm To Glass'." Schwoz smiled.

"Hey," Ray said to Schwoz, putting his phone in his pocket. "You see the episode yet about how they remove the pulp-"

Schwoz's eyes widens and he covers his ears. "Shhh, no spoilers!"

Juniper chuckles lightly, turning her attention to Charlotte's machine when she heard a noise like she was working on something. She grew slightly worried when she heard Charlotte let out a yelp and then heard a crash right after that. 

"Char? You alright?" Juniper hesitantly asked.

"Yeah, I'm good." Charlotte replied, ceasing Juniper's worries. 

Juniper glances at the elevator with raised eyebrows upon hearing Jasper's scream. The elevator dings and the door opens, revealing Jasper standing up. "Is it time to see Charlotte's thing?" Jasper inquired, walking into the Mancave and the elevator closed once he was out of the elevator.

Juniper's eyes widens when she realized no one was up in the store. Ray looks at Jasper with annoyance, outstretching his arms while Henry looks at Jasper with furrowed eyebrows. "Jasper!" Henry scolded.

"You're supposed to be upstairs in JunkNStuff, working." Ray pointed at Jasper.

"Yeah, dude, what if a customer walks in?" Henry asked.

"Oh, it's okay I left a sign saying: 'be right back'." Jasper smiled.

Juniper cringes, thinking that probably wasn't the best idea. He probably should've just locked the store and got the closed sign out while he went to the Mancave. "Yeah, okay. Let's hope nothing bad happens in the store while you're gone."

"And hello!" Charlotte exclaimed as she got out from under the sheet with a grin on her face.

Everyone turns to face her. "As some of you know, for the past three years at The Gizmo Show, my projects have won the second place prize." Charlotte explained.

Juniper and the boys chimed in with their commentary to show their excitement and that they're interested. When in reality it seemed like only Juniper and Jasper were the only ones actually interested about Charlotte's machine. Jasper didn't say anything, but he nodded and smiled as he crossed his arms.

"Okay." Ray said.

"So interesting." Schwoz spoke while yawning.

"Alright." Henry nodded.

"I'm sure you'll get first place this year, Char." Juniper reassured Charlotte.

"Me too." Charlotte agrees with Juniper. "Because this is the year that Charlotte goes number one."

Ray bursts out laughing, covering his mouth to stifle his laugh. He stops laughing and crosses his arms, trying to keep a straight face. "So you're gonna pee?"

Everyone bursts out laughing with Ray at his joke, but the only ones who weren't laughing were the girls. Juniper rolls her eyes, mumbling, "Boys will be boys." while Charlotte looked at the boys with annoyance.

The boys finally stop laughing after noticing Charlotte's annoyance. "I call my project..." Charlotte walks over to her machine, pulling off the grey sheet. She gestures to the machine dramatically and grins. "The Scream Machine."

Juniper smiles, but her smile falters and she tilts her head to the side, furrowing her eyebrows as she couldn't figure out what the machine even looked like or what it did. She wasn't exactly for sure what it was. Glancing at the boys, it seemed like they were just as confused as she was. 

Charlotte lowers her arms and said, "Please clap."

Juniper claps along with the boys for Charlotte. When they were done, Charlotte smiles. "Now, as we all know, the future of our planet depends on finding new ways to create clean, renewable energy. But where will our energy come from?"

"The sun?" Juniper questioned.

Charlotte smiles slightly, pointing at her. "That's a good guess, but that's not it."

Henry raises his hand and Charlotte nods at him for him to say his guess. Henry lowers his hand as he guesses, "France."

Juniper turns to look at him in disbelief. She couldn't believe he just said that. He was either guessing that because he didn't care or he was genuinely guessing that. "Seriously?"

"No." Charlotte told Henry.

Henry glances at Juniper and shrugs. "Energy could come from France." He defended himself.

"Energy balls." Ray guessed.

"Wrong." Charlotte said with a look of annoyance on her face. It was obvious she was growing more annoyed by the second.

"Orange juice." Schwoz smiled.

"Dang it." Charlotte frowned.

"Double-A batteries!" Jasper exclaimed, raising his arms.

Juniper facepalms. "I swear, Charlotte and I are surrounded by idiots."

"Hey!" The boys exclaimed, looking at her with offense.

"Shut up!" Charlotte shouted.

"As you're about to see, my Scream Machine creates energy from sound." Charlotte explained.

"Ohh, sound." Ray nods in realization. "That's interesting."

Juniper smiles. "That's really cool."

"Sound energy." Henry nodded.

"What she mean sound?" Schwoz questioned.

"I like batteries." Jasper commented.

Charlotte looks at him weirdly and shakes her head. She gestures for him to go over to her. "Jasper, come here please."

"Ooh." "Busted." Ray and Henry tease Jasper as if he got in trouble with the principal, causing Juniper to roll her eyes although there was a small smile on her lips because she found it a bit amusing. While the two boys teased Jasper, Schwoz yawned again. 

"Put that mask over your mouth." Charlotte instructed, gesturing to a mask on the table.

Jasper smiles, grabbing the mask that was connected to the machine by a tube. "Ooh, a mask!" He strapped the mask over his head, putting it on his mouth.

"Now, watch as I take the Shock Rod that Schwoz made..." Charlotte picks up the Shock Rod off a nearby table. "And do this." She touched Jasper's arm with the Shock Rod and Jasper screamed, but the scream was muffled because of the mask.

Juniper and the boys look at each other with surprise when the hula dancer on part of the machine started spinning and Hawaiian music started playing. Charlotte pulled the Shock Rod away and Jasper stopped screaming, bending over in pain as he held his arm that now hurt.

"Woah," Henry smiles, walking over to stand by the machine. "What made it work like that?"

Juniper follows him, chuckling as she flicks his head. "Obviously sound, dummy."

"Ow," Henry rubs the spot on his head where she flicked. "No need to be violent, Juni."

"Sorry, Hen." Juniper apologized, sheepishly smiling at him.

"It's okay." Henry reassured her.

"Juniper's right. It was sound." Charlotte smiles. "See, when Jasper screamed," She points at two magnetic modules on the machine. "These magnetic modules converted the sound vibrations into energy which this kinetic transformer turned into electricity which made the hula girl dance!"

Schwoz looks at her with an impressed expression. "Oopa!"

"Wow." Henry commented.

"That's fantastic." Ray smiled.

"You're right." Henry agreed with him.

Juniper grins. "Charlotte, this will defintely get you into first place!"

Charlotte grins back at her. "I hope so!"

"But why'd you have to Rod Shock me?" Jasper frowned. He now stood, but he was still holding on to his arm.

Charlotte smiles at him and rubs his back. "For science."

"W-W-Wait, so when someone makes a sound into this thing, how much electricity can it create?" Henry inquired.

"It depends on how loud the sound is, and how long the sound lasts." Charlotte answered and Henry nodded.

"Ooh, I want to try something!" Schwoz grinned and went to grab something.

Charlotte panics and tries to stop him. "Oh, no, no, you don't need to try-" Her voice trailed off as Schwoz pushed her to the side when he got in front of the machine.

"Schwoz, maybe you shouldn't do anything." Juniper chimed in, biting her lower lip worriedly. She didn't want anything bad to happen to Charlotte's machine and she had a feeling that's what was going to happen.

"That's probably not a good idea." Henry spoke. 

"Schwoz, what are you gonna do with that air horn?" Charlotte asked Schwoz when he grabbed an air horn. 

Now everyone was talking over each other, trying to get Schwoz to stop whatever he was doing, but Schwoz didn't listen. He grabbed the mask, putting the airhorn to it. He then pressed the button on the airhorn. Juniper grimaced and covered her ears when a loud air horn is sounded, followed by the Hawaiian music. She looked at the machine to see that the Hula girl was dancing as well, but the Hula girl was spinning very fast.

"Yeah!" Ray grins and fist bumps the air. "Hula!" He then starts swinging his hips around and dances with his hands on his head. "Hula! Hula! Hula! Hula! Hula!"

Juniper couldn't help the small chuckle that left her lips while looking at Ray. "Ray, you're ridiculous!" 

"Schwoz!" Charlotte yelled.

"Schwoz, stop!" Henry demanded.

"Stop why?! Look how the hula girl is-" Schwoz's sentence was cut off by Charlotte's machine exploding, sending everyone flying to the ground because of the impact. 

Juniper groaned in pain when she hit the floor. She did not like that one bit. If only Schwoz listened to everyone then everyone wouldn't have gotten thrown to the ground by an explosion. Debris of the machine fell throughout the Mancave and smoke was surrounding the ruined machine now. When the sparks flickered again and then made another small explosion everyone turned away and covered their face. 

Juniper leans on her side, looking at the damaged machine and sighs. "I knew something was going to go wrong." She muttered.

Henry and Ray immediately stood up, saying 'huh' repeatedly as they went to grab fire extinguishers. They both blew out the smoke with the fire extinguishers and Juniper stood up along with the others. When the two modules went off once, the table fell and the rest of the machine that was still intact fell apart. 

Juniper grimaced. She felt really bad for Charlotte. She knew how hard Charlotte worked on this and how badly she wanted first place. And now because of Schwoz Charlotte's machine was destroyed.

Henry and Ray then used the fire extinguishers one more time on the destroyed machine. Juniper glanced at Charlotte, wincing when she saw how mad Charlotte looked. A mad Charlotte was never good.

Schwoz puts his hand on Charlotte's shoulder. "Don't blame yourselfs."

"Yeah, I think she blames you 'cause you're the one who ruined her machine." Juniper remarked.

Juniper stood by Henry near the supercomputer while Ray sat on the chair. Juniper leaned back with her hands on the table while Henry rested his elbow on her shoulder. The three of them had been watching Charlotte attack Schwoz for the past few minutes.

Schwoz was on the floor on his stomach and Charlotte was sitting on his leg, twisting his leg back. "Four months!" Charlotte shouts. "I worked on that project for four months!"

"You guys should probably get her." Juniper suggested, glancing at Henry and Ray.

"Yeah, she's right." Henry said, looking at Ray, who nodded.

"Yeah, alright." Ray spoke.

Henry and Ray went over to Charlotte, picking her off of Schwoz by grabbing her arms despite Charlotte struggling to get out of their grasp. Juniper then walked over to help Schwoz up. Henry and Ray put Charlotte down and let go of her, but a few seconds later Charlotte goes to attack Schwoz. Juniper's eyes widen. "Wait, Char, calm down." She commented and she stood in front of Schwoz, outstretching her arms to protect Schwoz more. Ray grabs Charlotte again to stop her. "Woah, woah." Henry stood between her and Schwoz, standing beside Juniper with his hand outstretched. 

Ray let Charlotte go when she was calm enough. "I was finally gonna win first place at The Gizmo Show!" Charlotte exclaims, walking to the other side of the room as she speaks. She turns to face the others with anger in her eyes. "Finally! But Schwoz had to go wreck my Scream Machine and ruin my chances!"

Henry stands in front of her with an outstretched hand. "Look, just calm down."

Juniper cringes. "Yeah, never tell a woman to calm down."

Henry glances at her with confusion. "Why?"

Charlotte turns to face Henry with a glare. "Hey!" Henry looks at her nervously, lowering his arm. Ray grimaces while Schwoz watches with furrowed eyebrows. Charlotte nods in agreement with Juniper, pointing at Henry. "Never tell a woman to calm down." 

"Uh, I'm sorry, I was just tryin' to-"

"Never tell a woman to calm down." Charlotte interrupted Henry, standing in front of him.

Henry nods. "Okay."

"Say it with me." Charlotte demanded, cupping his chin and made him say the words with her.

"Never tell a woman to calm down." 

Charlotte then throws her arms up out of frustration. "Ya get it?"

"Yes, I promise." Henry immediately replied.

Charlotte rolls her eyes, putting her hands on her hips. "Charlotte, this really isn't the disaster you think it is." Ray spoke up, trying to cheer up Charlotte.

"But," Charlotte walks to the other side of the room near where her ruined machine is. "The Gizmo Show is on Monday," She gestures to her machine. "And look what Schwoz did to my project!"

"Yeah, that is a disaster." Juniper grimaced.

"Okay," Ray nods. "But Schwoz is a scientific genius and he has all weekend to rebuild your Scream Machine which he will."

Schwoz frowns. "No!" He drags out the word, looking at Ray with an upset expression. "This weekend I'm supposed to get my colonoscopy!" Charlotte and Juniper looked at him weirdly.

"Reschedule it!" Ray demanded.

Schwoz sighs and bitterly says, "I'll just reschedule it." 

"But the rules say that every kid without help from a parent or any other adult." Charlotte explains. She points at herself. "It has to be my work."

"It is your work." Ray smiled.

"Uh, yeah, see, look, Schwoz is just gonna recreate the project you made." Henry reassures Charlotte, crossing his arms. "Okay?"

"Okay?" Henry and Ray spoke in unison, dragging out the word.

Charlotte groans. "I guess so."

"Alright, then we're all good." Ray said. "Schwoz, now it's up to you to make sure you get-" 

"Ray," Juniper speaks up and he stops talking, glancing at her with raised eyebrows. "Yeah," She points at a sleeping Schwoz.  "He's asleep." Ray looked at Schwoz and groaned.

"Alright, I got this." Henry grabbed the air horn and blew it right in Schwoz's ear.

That wakes Schwoz up and he gasps as he fell forward. Henry stops the air horn and sets it down while Schwoz stands up. "Who did that?" Schwoz questioned.

"None a your business!" Charlotte replied harshly.

Schwoz bends down, raising his hands in defense with a nervous expression on his face. "Okay, good, good for you. Ha ha. Don't calm down." Charlotte nodded and smiled.

That night Juniper offered to go help the boys with finding parts that Schwoz will need to make Charlotte's machine so that's why she was in the back seat of Ray's red colored car. Ray and Henry were up front while Juniper and Schwoz were in the back. 

"Hey..." Schwoz speaks up. "Can we stop and get ice creams?"

Juniper chuckles lightly. "No, Schwoz." 

Henry nods in agreement. "No ice creams 'till later. Right now, we gotta get to the hardware store."

Ray sighs. "I hate goin' to hardware store."

"Well, I need extra parts if you want me to create Charlotte's stupid Scream Machine." Schwoz looked at the blueprints of Charlotte's machine he held.  

Juniper looks at Ray weirdly. "Why do you hate going to hardware stores?"

"'Cause I just do!" Ray defends himself, glancing at her with a small glare.  "Do I need a reason to hate something?"

Juniper smiles at him with amusement and raises her hands in defense. "Nope. Sorry I asked."

"Apology accepted." Ray mumbled.

"Well, Schwoz, you wouldn't have to recreate Charlotte's Scream Machine if you hadn't airhorned that hula dancer to death." Henry told Schwoz.

Schwoz frowns at him. "Stop making me feel bad."

"You should feel bad!" Ray exclaims. "Now just keep studying Charlotte's drawings and make sure you know everything you need to get."

"I'm looking at Charlotte's plans right now!" Schwoz commented.

"Oh, look at charlotte's plans right now!" Ray mocks him. A few moments of silence goes by until Ray started messing with his jacket. "I'm hot. Is it hot in here?" 

Juniper looks at him weirdly when he started having trouble taking off his jacket. In her opinion, he was making it harder than it needed to be. Her eyes widen, her heartbeat increasing when Ray let go of the wheel to get his jacket completely off. "Hen, the wheel!"

"Yeah, got it." Henry responded, quickly reaching over to grab the wheel to make sure the car would stay on the road. Ray was now frustrated with having trouble taking his jacket off and it was clear he was frustrated as he dramatically threw his jacket in the back seat. 

Juniper winces when she was hit with the jacket. "Rude." She muttered, throwing the jacket to the other side of the back seat. 

Once Ray had his hand on the wheel, Henry let go. "It's a little hot I guess." Henry agreed with Ray, looking at him weirdly.

"Didn't have to be so dramatic about it, Ray." Juniper commented.

"You know what? It's my car, I'm gonna put the top down." Ray announced, pressing the button that puts the top down.

"Yeah, okay." Juniper chuckled. She was glad that she had her hair up in a messy bun because of the wind. She tried her best to help Schwoz keep ahold of the blueprint that he was having trouble with since the wind was blowing it. "Oh, no." Juniper grimaced and "Ah!" Schwoz said as the blueprint flew out of her and Schwoz's grasp.

"Da plans! Da plans!" Schwoz exclaimed, looking at Henry and Ray worriedly while pointing up.

Ray and Henry look at each other with shock. Henry looks at Schwoz with a glare, scolding him, "Schwoz! Where'd the plans go?!" Schwoz nervously smiled.

"Guys," Juniper flicks both Henry's and Ray's heads to get their attention, causing them to wince and look back at her with a small glare. "It's not Schwoz's fault! The plans just flew away 'cause of the wind!" She points at Ray." If anything, blame Ray for putting the top down."

"How about we don't blame Ray." Ray chimed in.

A/N  tbh i thought this episode was pretty funny! in this chapter you kinda get to see more of juniper's & ray's friendship & i love their friendship so much its the best & plus got some cute moments with henry & juniper !
