Wildthorne - Ai no Scenario
TW: Domestic violence (Not a lot but still)
Austin looked curiously at the small goblet of water in front of him. Michael had said this was an ancient artifact that let people see their past lives and he couldn't help but admit he was curious. What would it hurt to look? Michael had said that there wasn't any real negative reactions that could come from using it, so why not give it a try.
"I'll try it." He said to his friends.
Ritchie seemed hesitant. "But, what if it does something bad?"
"Michael said it was fine, right?"
"Well," the ice mage hesitated, "theoretically it should be safe. I couldn't find anything that said otherwise. But we all know how magic can be. We've seen the worst of it after all."
Austin gave a dismissive shrug. "It can't be too bad. I'm gonna give it a shot."
Michael and Ritchie eventually consented and stepped back to allow Austin to step forward. As he did he took a deep breath before leaning over the goblet and staring at his reflection. At first nothing happened but then his reflection began to warp and change. He sucked in a breath as he watched his reflection turn into someone new. Well, not entirely new, it was still obviously him but the change was undeniable. His hair was slightly longer and he wore what Austin could only imagine as old farm clothes.
Then he was no longer staring in to the water, instead at the grass covered ground. He looked up confused before spotting "himself" once more. He uncertainly moved forward and was taken aback by the look of heart break on his face. He followed his gaze to see two other people. One was a brunette man with purple eyes while the other was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. She was short with long pinkish blonde hair, her eyes shone with a cyan hue. He felt his breath leave him at the sight of her.
"She's gorgeous..." He murmured as he felt his heart clench at the sight. The man was proposing to her. She accepted. Glancing at his other self he watched as he scowled, an angry look but knowing his emotions as well as he did he could tell, it wasn't quite anger. More like worry.
The scene around him changed and he was suddenly floating in the air gazing at what seemed to be a large mansion. He watched his future self climb up a tree and knock on the window. It opened and there stood the girl shaking her head fondly at him, hair flowing with her movements. She giggled, her voice musical as it rang softly through the air.
"Austin what are you doing?" She asked looking amused.
"Coming to see you obviously." He grinned at her. "I wanted to talk to you."
"About what?"
"How was your day?"
She stared for a moment before shaking her head. "You snuck on to private property, climbed my tree, nearly gave me a heart attack, just so you could ask how my day was?"
"Pretty much." He chuckled as he moved to sit on the window sill next to her. "So how was it?"
Austin smiled as he watched the scene taking place before him. He was glad that even if he couldn't get this woman to fall in love with him then at least he could be her friend and watch out for her. They talked for a long while before the past him made a joke and she giggled just a little too loudly and a voice called from the hall way outside her shut door.
"Bri, is someone in there?"
Austin barely had time to pine over her name (because before now he'd never been too inclined to one name over another but now the name Bri was the most beautiful he'd ever heard) because he saw the panic flash across her face.
"Ah, n-no! I'm just talking to myself!"
Austin watched as the scene switched once more and now he was stood in the room, the man from earlier was now stood in front of Bri. Austin felt rage burn up as he pulled his arm back and slapped her, sending her sprawling to the floor.
"I warned you didn't I?" He growled staring down at her. "You aren't to speak to him!" He stared down cruelly at her tear streaked face before turning to look out the window and glaring out it.
Following his gaze he saw his past self sitting crouched on the branch staring him down with shocked and hateful eyes. His gaze darkened further and Austin wished for himself to hurt the man in any way he could. Instead the scene switched again, this time leaving him in the same place but at a later time if the darkened sky out the window was anything to go by. She was sleeping quietly and Austin felt a spark of satisfaction that she didn't share her fiance's bed. (As he figured they were considering the lack of rings.) Then a shadow blocked out the moons light. Looking up he saw himself push the window open, making enough noise for her to wake up.
"Austin?" She whispered confused.
He stood on the window sill and smirked before hopping down and hurrying to her bed. He held out his hand. "Just take my hand." He smiled. "Trust me. You don't need to be scared."
She paused only for a second before smiling as well and taking his hand. "No," she whispered, "nothing scares me anymore. Not with you here."
He pulled her along and together they climbed out the window escaping into the night. Austin stared in shock as his surrounding's changed once more. This time he was in a church and stared up at the alter where his past life stood, dressed in a suit and tie staring with a look of awe and love. Turning to look down the aisle he watched as Bri made her way towards him, dressed in a beautiful wedding gown and he couldn't hold back a gasp. The scene switched one last time to see himself and her kiss before he was suddenly staring at Ritchie and Michael's concerned faces.
"Austin?" Ritchie waved a hand in front of his face. "Can you hear me?"
He blinked before nodding stupidly. "Yeah, yeah I..." He trailed off.
"What happened?" Michael asked.
He stared for a moment before letting a stupid grin cross his face. "I saw the girl of my dreams." He admitted. "And I married her! Well my past self did anyway." He explained what all he'd seen to his friends, who looked both amazed and concerned.
"Well," Ritchie said after a moment, "let's hope you can find her in this life to bud."
Austin nodded. He would find her, he decided. He would find her and he would love her, and if he was lucky, she would love him too. Michael shook his head.
"Alright we can talk more later when we get back home." He and Ritchie hauled the fire mage to his feet. "Come on Romeo."
The three exited the class and Austin, still lost in a daze, ran directly into someone.
"Sorry-" He cut himself off as he stared at the girl in the air mage uniform. She was very familiar and he was once again struck by her beauty.
"No worries." She waved him off with a smile before she kept on her way.
He barely heard his friends as he watched her go. His face split into a grin and he turned towards them with a laugh. "That was her."
"So what are you gonna do about it?" Ritchie raised an eyebrow holding back a grin at his love struck expression.
"I'm gonna make her fall in love with me."
Michael sighed. "We can focus on that later. For now, let's get home."
They made there way back to their dorm and if Austin spent the whole trip plus some daydreaming, well who could blame him?
A/N: Done! It's been a hot minute since I updated this but that's cause I was working on another book that at this point and time has two chapters up. I'd appreciate if you would check it out btw.
Also I know this doesn't fit with the trailer but I was watching the video to the song and I wanted to write something cute for them because they are one of the cutest couples ever. And I'm sorry I made Xylo the bad guy but I was thinking about Origins of Olympus and someone had to bite the bullet lol. I also cut the second half because I didn't know how to transition that in so I figured I'd leave it a little open ended in a way. Hope you enjoyed at any rate. Peace!
