TW: Suicide, major character death

Michael wasn't sure how long they say there hugging him and making false promises. Help him? Yeah right. He wasn't stupid, he knew there was no helping him. He was just too far gone at this point. Despite everything going on around him his mind began creating a plan.

He had to end this now. He wouldn't be the one to keep hurting them. He hated to do this in front of them but he knew he wouldn't get another chance once they left. Austin and Ritchie weren't going to let him out of their sight.

He took a deep breath and pulled away slightly. Austin took the clue and pulled back as well, ensuring his arm stayed wrapped around Michael's shoulder. Ritchie left himself wrapped around the smallest boy, refusing to let go.

"Hey guys," Austin murmured, "let's go home."

It took a little coaxing but eventually Ritchie detached himself from Michael standing shakily.

Michael felt more guilt curl in his stomach. Ritchie looked like a was about to collapse but Austin was making sure to stay buy Michael instead of helping him.

As Austin began to usher then to the stairs Michael put his plan in motion. "W-wait." He winced at the way his voice cracked and he pointed towards the edge. "My phone..."

Austin glanced between Michael and the phone, clearly hesitant but turned and made his way to the edge. Ritchie reached over to grab Michael's arm but Michael was quicker. He jumped back and before either could react he was at the edge, standing on the railing. He turned to them, both moving towards him, and gave a sad smile.

"I'm sorry."

And with that, he let himself fall backwards. The last thing he saw was the blue sky and slowly drifting clouds. The last thing he heard were his friends screams, Austin begging him to wait, Ritchie just screaming in an animalistic gutteral way. Then everything went dark and silent.
