Chapter Seventeen~Yeah, She Crazy:

Thunderblood was a fox.

A fox.

Foxes aren't bad, I hate that many think it is true that foxes are just evil.

They're just very clever.

And that's exactly what I was worried about. Sometimes creatures are even cleverer when they are complete and utter psychopaths. 'Cause if they are crazy, they are extremely persistent and will stop at nothing to execute their plan. And this Thunderblood was definitely a psychopath.

I shook my head, clearing my thoughts that were racing through my mind at a million miles per hour. In mind time.

I felt calmer than you would think I felt, I had seen worse than a kingdom of foxes. Experienced much worse... That's what I was thinking. Famous last thoughts.

I took a deep breath, about to go for the next part of my plan.

"That's it," Thunderblood growled, "don't say I didn't warn you."

I jumped out from the long dark sticks that were actually trees, standing right between them all, close to Alpha and Thunderblood.

I put on a brave grin, "There will be no killing! Not today! Not ever! Not on my watch-wait I don't have a watch. Just no killing! That's my point."

I took a second to look at the foxes, and Alpha.

Alpha looked terrible, well I mean she still looked beautiful. But she had a scar that was still fresh. But I was sure that it would heal fairly well. Though, it would be with her for the rest of her life.

That must have been from Thunderblood.

I took my very first look at Thunderblood, my grin already faded away by then.

She had such an evil fire in her eyes that burned infinitely. She had three scars, and they looked pretty deep. The first one was across her left eye-my view of left-and I assumed that she must have been closing her eyes when that scar was given to her because it didn't seem to affect her eyesight. The second scar was close to her right eye, but didn't even nearly touch it. The third and final scar was the smallest of them all, it was on most of the top of her nose, and the other end was in the middle of her muzzle. She looked very ambitious. There was that as well.

Behind Thunderblood, was what seemed to be her kingdom Darkfang.

Now it was Thunderblood's turn to grin, but this grin was an evil, wicked grin. "Hello, Wildfire."

I did an obviously fake smile, "I'm Sophia now actually. And I've heard from eavesdropping that you're Thunderblood. I have to say, what a name! I mean if you want to be an evil overlord fox, you got the name down. And those fiery eyes and deep scars are working for you too."

She chuckled slightly, looking at the ground shaking her head from side to side. She then looked back up at me, wickedness struck across her face, "You know, one of my favorite things in this cruel, cruel world is betrayal. It hurts so much. It's quite enjoyable-I'd even say amusing-to watch."

"I'm sure you do say that. Lots."

"You don't get it do you?! I'm telling you about betrayal for a reason! You really are an idiot, aren't you?!"

I smiled, a real smile, and replied simply, "Yep."

"You're the one who knows that nobody does anything for no reason."

"Correction," then we said in unison, "everything I do is for a reason." I cocked my head.

I opened my jaw to speak, but she said something before me. "Don't look so stupid, Sophia, I know everything about you. I have a question, why do you do everything for a reason?"

I answered, and we said it in unison once again, "'Don't put a gun in a room unless you're gonna use it.'"

I blinked swiftly, and she went on, "About betrayal again. Guess who betrayed you this time Sophia. Guess."

"I have a feeling that wether I guess or not, you're gonna tell me. So."

"You're right for once-" I interrupted her, but both me and Thunderblood said it at the same time, "I'm always right!"

I squinted one eye, as she kept going, "And look, you're doing your famous 'I-think-you're-trying-to-read-me' look. Anyways! The traitor is your precious, precious Alpha."

I looked at her, her blood splattered in groups of drops below her face on the grass, staining the grass a shade of dark red.

She was looking down at the ground, her brown-yellow eyes skittering as they looked across the ground. She looked up at me for one second, and I saw shame, guilt, hurt, and regret in her eyes. And she looked back down just as fast.

I felt betrayal stab at my heart, I tried to hold back that feeling because Alpha was nothing more than somecat keeping me as a hostage. So instead of letting betrayal keep hurting me I growled in anger, "Was this your plan the entire time, Alpha!?! To have this psychopath over here see me!? I hope you like that scar, 'cause it's gonna be your little companion until the day you die!" I heard some cat-I'm assuming 'Frost' from earlier-comment, "Ouch." And that pretty much explained what I had just growled then. Ouch.

Before Alpha could answer-and I highly doubt she ever would have-Thunderblood laughed wickedly, "Sophia, Sophia, Sophia," I turned to her again. "You're so stupid, naive, guliable, and worst, you trust people, or at least you want to."

"At least I know I can't trust you!" I snarled, still pretty angry.

"Well yes. Yes of course. But perhaps one day you'll need me. That'll be the day."

"That will never be a day. On my calendar."

"I doubt you have one," She said, "but there's one thing that you're missing here. Try to guess it. I want to see you try to see what you're missing."

"Like I said before, I'm sure whether I guess or not, you'll tell me anyway. And I do have a calendar by the way."

"Let me give you a hint through a question. Why would I just want to see you?"

I sighed but it was also partly a gasp, "Oh... Oh. Oh. Oh! Oh! Oh!!! Oh, whiskers. Oh... Whiskers. You... You're... You... You don't want to do that. You wouldn't want to just see me. That's pointless. 'Never put a gun in a room unless you're gonna use it.' Apparently you live by that quote too. You wanted to take me. You want me for something-what exactly though?"

"You'll find out soon enough," before I could make my next move, something hard hit me in the back of my head. This made me quite dizzy, and the world began to swirl around me in a dizzy mess. Everything was blurry, and made my head hurt somewhat.

The thing in my main part of my view was Thunderblood, with a victorious grin on her face. Even she was blurry, she said something, it echoed, and bounced around in my head, "I have a great surprise for you."

I feel to the ground, and everything was just as dark-maybe even darker-than The Dark Forest.

Darker than my fur.

There was one things that it couldn't be darker than.

And that was my dark heart.
