CHAPTER FIVE

WYNTER FOUND herself waking up on a stranger's bed. Nang pilitin niyang umupo ay saka lang niya napansing may dalawang brasong nakapatong sa bewang niya.

She grunted as she remembered the reason why she ended up in that kind of situation. Wynter felt sore down there but she still managed to push herself to sit up and remove the two arms of two different men.

Wynter was able to manage her way out of that sinful bed and nakedly walked towards what she believes is the door leading to safety.

She was about to turn the knob when someone spoke. "Saan ka pupunta?"

Instead of feeling embarrassed because she's obviously standing there naked, Wynter confidently faced the conscious man. "Back to my apartment."

She saw desire in Daniel's eyes as he stared at her birthday suit. He had to clear his throat before he could make himself speak again. "Just like that?"

Napakunot naman ang noo ni Wyn. "Uhh... yeah? I mean we all enjoyed the threesome, I think. But after that, we're done."

Daniel lost all the emotions on his face and went out of his bed. His eyes were locked on hers as he walked towards her. Kakaunti lang ang layo ng mukha nila sa isa't isa, pero hindi nakaramdam ng hiya o pagka-asiwa ang dalaga.

We have already done something more intense than this, why would I feel embarrassed? Wynter thought to herself.

"You'll leave... just... like... that?" he repeated. Only that this time, he sounded way sexier.

"Dan." She looked him in the eye. "If this is about your ego getting crushed, uunahan na kita. I'm not a clingy girl. Hindi porket nakipag-s*x ako sa lalake eh ibibigay ko na ang buong atensyon at pagkatao ko sa kanya. Spare me, okay? Kung hindi ka naniniwala, ask your friend." Bahagya niyang binatuhan ng tingin ang tulog na si Mike bago nakipagtitigan kay Dan. "Aware ka naman na kung anong klaseng relasyon ang meron kami. I wouldn't mind him telling you everything. You seemed trustworthy."

Matagal siyang tinitigan ng binata na para bang inaaral nito ang mukha niya, saka ngumiti sa kanya na para bang wala silang seryosong pinag-usapan. "Wanna have breakfast with me?"

Mas lalong naguluhan si Wynter sa inakto ng lalake. "No, thanks. I don't do breakfasts after s*x."

Nanatiling nakangiti si Daniel sa kanya bago bahagyang lumayo. "Hindi rin ba kayo nag-uumagahan ni Mike kapag inaabot kayo ng umaga?"

Why the heck is he asking me that? At hindi ba siya aware na pareho pa kaming hubad‽ "No. Madalas wala na yung isa sa amin kapag nagigising sa umaga."

Napatango naman si Daniel sa sinabi ko. "Okay then, if that's what you prefer. You may leave my unit. But if you ever change your mind, feel free to knock, okay?"

As if I'll do that. "Sure." Hindi malaman ni Wynter kung paano magpapaalam o aalis sa sitwasyong 'yun. This is exactly the reason why one of us leaves the room before the other wakes up. Tumingin si Wynter kay Daniel bago hinawakan ang doorknob. "Bye."

When she reached the living room, she quickly picked her clothes up and wore them as fast as she could, and left the unit.

Once she got inside her unit, she instantly took off her clothes and headed toward her shower room. It might have been one of her longest showers but she doesn't give hell.

Ang mahalaga ay natupad na niya ang isa sa mga fantasy niya mula noon at naka-alis agad siya. But he still caught me. Napailing na lang si Wynter saka nagbihis at kumain ng agahan.

Wala naman siyang importanteng gagawin ngayong araw. Not unless her emergency phone rings, it's her day off.

Kumuha lang siya ng random pocketbook sa shelf niya saka sumalampak sa sofa at nagsimulang magbasa habang nagkakape.

Wynter was about to flip the page when her doorbell rang, taking her away from her comfort zone. Maingat na inilapag ni Wyn ang libro sa coffee table niya saka lumapit sa pinto at binuksan 'yun.

She wasn't expecting anyone, and if it was Autumn, she would've called her first.

Frowning, Wynter stared at her unexpected visitor. "Yes? How may I help you?"

Daniel smiled at her, at katulad niya, mukhang katatapos lang nitong maligo. Inangat nito ang kamay na may hawak na mug. "Coffee?"

Muling napakunot ang noo ng dalaga saka alanganing sumagot, "Uhh... no, thanks? Kauubos ko lang ng kape ko."

Mukha namang nanghinayang ang binata sa sinabi niya. "Ganon ba? Sayang naman."

"Mmm-hmm." Tinitigan niya ang lalake, hinihintay ng sunod na sasabihin bago niya isara ang pinto at bumalik sa pagbabasa.

"Anyways, uhh... I was going to ask you if you're free today."

"Okay, hang on. What the hell is going on?" Hindi na niya maitago ang pagkalito niya sa nangyayari. "Why are you doing that? If it's about sleeping with me, sorry but I don't f*ck twice. I have my f*ck buddy for that," she bluntly pointed out.

Yes, she was attracted to him. Yes, she still finds him attractive. But after her previous relationship, she's having a hard time trusting people with her heart. Sanay siyang laging s*x lang ang habol sa kanya ng mga lalake. No sweet talks or gestures after that, kaya naman gulong-gulo siya sa inaasal ng lalakeng nasa harapan niya.

"Dan, you were my friend. We had s*x last night. But that doesn't mean anything more than that. I'm pretty sure you had a fair share of one-night stands as well, so just treat it like that. Let's not make things complicated."

Wynter was expecting him to be pissed or something like that but she was stunned when she saw him smiling and chuckling. Nang mapansin nito ang kaguluhan sa mukha niya, he stopped his chuckles but his smile remained. "Nothing's funny, rest assured. It's just that I wasn't expecting you to be like this."

She frowned. "Like what?"

"Confident and independent. Tama nga si Mike, you've changed a lot. Not in a bad way, though." He gave her a smile. "Anyways, I'll let you be for a while but I can't promise that you won't be seeing my face again." Akmang tatalikod na ito sa kanya nang bigla itong huminto at tinitigan siya sa mata. "I'll be a liar if I say I wouldn't want to sleep with you again, but rest assured, I want something more." Then he smiled at her. "Sige na. Iwan na kita riyan at mukhang naiistorbo kita. See you soon, Emy." He turned his back on her and waved his hand before he entered his unit.

She was left there dumbfounded. Parang kanina lang andami niyang sinasabi tapos ngayon, nakatulala lang siya sa harap ng nakabukas niyang pinto.

What the hell just happened?

WYNTER DIDN'T have any plans to go out of her condo, but after her small talk with Dan, she had the urge to go outside and breathe. Ni hindi niya alam kung saan siya pupunta, ang mahalaga ay makalayo-layo siya sa binata.

For some unknown reason, he could make her feel uncomfortable. She wanted to deny it but there's no sense. Basta ang sigurado niya ay kailangan niyang iwasan ito.

Wynter let out a sigh and drove to a mall nearby. Mas okay nang maglakad-lakad na lang sa loob ng mall, she might even find a book that'll interest her. Nang mai-park na niya ang kotse niya, agad siyang naglakad papasok ng mall at dumiretso sa National Bookstore.

Most people like day-offs but Wynter disagrees. Siguro kung nasa Thailand siya at kasama niya ang mga kaibigan, she might have enjoyed her rest days. Alam kasi ng mga 'to kung ano ang gusto nilang gawin, they might go to malls, bar hop, or go to resorts. As for her, mas pipiliin na lang niyang matulog sa unit niya kesa lumabas.

Wyn let out a sigh as she searched for a random novel. Nang wala siyang mahanap na magiging interisado siya, she just randomly picked up a book and bought it.

Nang makalabas siya ng National Bookstore, dumiretso siya sa Food Court. Not to eat but to read the book. Hindi naman siya nagsisi sa binili niya, the scenes quickly got her attention to the point that she wasn't able to notice someone who sat on the chair in front of her.

Unfortunately, after a few seconds, Wynter felt someone's eyes on her so she put down her book to make that person stop. Kaya lang nawala lahat ng salitang sasabihin niya nang makita kung sino ang nasa harapan.

Is he stalking me?

"What do you need, Dan?" Wynter wanted to escape his stares so she went back to reading.

"Wala naman. Sadyang nakita lang kita rito. Ang galing, diba?" His tone shows amusement.

Wyn took a deep breath before she continued challenging the book into a staring contest.

"Anyways, wanna have lunch with me?"

Hindi pinahalata ng dalagang natigilan siya sa alok nito. Why the hell is he doing this? "No, thanks. I'll have to go somewhere after this."

Narinig naman niya ang mahina nitong tawa. "Can I come?"

Bahagyang ibinaba ni Wynter ang librong binabasa saka tumingin sa kausap. "Aren't you busy with anything? Like anything at all?"

Daniel shrugged. "Day-off ko ngayon kaya wala akong magawa sa buhay."

"Ba't hindi mo yayain si Mike? Mag-inuman kayo o ewan." Ang mahalaga hindi kita nakikita.

Dan teasingly smiled. "Ayaw mo ba akong kausap? Do I perhaps make you feel uncomfortable?"

She rolled her eyes and covered her face with her book. "Why would I be? Maayos naman tayong magkausap kahapon."

"It was a simple yes or no question, Emy," natatawang punto nito sa kanya.

Ibinaba ni Wynter ang librong binabasa saka kinuha ang phone niya. She acted as if someone texted her to excuse herself. "Excuse me. I have to get going now. So, bye."

She moved swiftly to leave her chair when suddenly Dan spoke, "Hindi naman obvious na iniiwasan mo 'ko, 'no?"

He didn't seem offended nor pissed, hence he looked amused and was enjoying what's happening. Akmang ibubuka ni Wyn ang bibig para magsalita nang maunahan siya ng lalake.

"It's okay, I understand. Go on. Have a safe trip, Emy."

Napailing na lang siya saka tuluyang nagpaalam. That guy is so confusing.
