CHAPTER SIX-----▹

"Ah Junior, you're going to break your old man's heart," Tony stated landing in front of Ultron, Cap, and Thor behind him, "If I have to," Ultron spoke, Leigh, Clint, and Nat crept around opposite corners. "Nobody has to break anything," Thor spoke, oh how Leigh wished that was true. "Clearly you've never made an omelet." Ultron noted, "He beat me by one second." Tony added, and Thor side-eyed Stark.

"Ah, yes. He's funny." Pietro noted, "Mr. Stark." the Maximoff twins stepped out of the shadows. Leigh sure as hell didn't like where this is going, "It's what? Comfortable? Like old times?" Pietro asked, "This was never my life." Tony replied dryly, "You two can still walk away from this." Cap said Leigh pressed her back farther against the wall, "Oh we will," Wanda noted, and Leigh would just have to say her accent...so much more attractive.

"I know you've suffered," Cap spoke, Ultron chuckled sickly, "Captian America. God's righteous man. Pretending you could live without war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but-" he spoke, "If you believe in peace, let us keep it." Thor interrupted, "I think you're confusing peace with quiet."

"Uh-huh. What's the vibranium for?" Tony asked, "I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan." everything seemed to jump into action from there, the twins taking off into the mix of the fighting, a bunch of men with guns came charging in Leigh's direction, "Oh, yeah, sure. Bring it on." Leigh said, before slowing their movements with just a flick of a wrist, she pulled out her gun shooting both fatal and non-fatal shots before moving on. 

An arrow whisked past her taking out someone Leigh didn't notice, "Thank you," she nodded in Clint's direction, Thor and Cap were preoccupied by two bots, Ultron and Tony were fighting, and Nat, Clint, and Leigh worked to take out the other men. 

Leigh laughed, as Pietro tried to grab the hammer and end up getting thrown into the ground, he was still in haze when two men came over about to shoot them, when Leigh took them out, "What? No thank you?" she asked, and he shot her a look. Pietro went to stand up and Cap's shield hit him, "Stay down kid." he ordered, "That's my queue." she mock saluted him, slipping away. 

Leigh came face to face with the Sokovian girl, gun pointed at her, "Just stay out of my head and we won't have a problem, witchy." Leigh said, but suddenly everything from the setting seemed to fade away, "No" she exhaled sharply, her old bedroom coming into view, she could already hear the distant sound of yelling, she shook her head trying to get the hell out of there.

Her breath quickened as the hands on the clock spun back and forth out of her control, she tried to throw something at the clock in hopes of shattering it, but the object was moving at various speeds never quite making it there. The bedroom faded away into a mountain road, "No. No. No." she yelled out seeing the overturned car, "Why, didn't you save me? I was counting on you babes." 

"No, no, I tried. I did. Ally, I promise I did. Bu-but the ambulance didn't come, it didn't come." she shook her head, tears freely streaming down her face. "You could've done better, Leigh, you could've done better." the teenager spoke blood dripping down her forehead, "I did everything I was supposed to, you, you were stable." she sobbed, "You failed." 

"You're a failure Leigh,"  the brunette froze at the sound of her father's voice, "You're a killer. You're supposed to save lives, not take them." 

"I do, I do save lives, I..." she gasped for air, "I'm on a team...yeah...yeah, the Avengers." she cried, "With what? The silly powers, you made up in your head to get attention." her mother appeared in front of her, "You're, you're all just figments of my imagination....you're not real, this isn't real."

There was a chorus of their voice telling her she was a killer backing her off the edge of the cliff, and suddenly she was falling, falling, falling.

"I've done the whole mind control thing." he paused looking at the witch, "I'm not a fan." that's when he spotted Leigh, he strode away trying to get to her as quickly as possible, "Leigh, Leigh?" she gasped tears flowing down her face steadily, "Clint?" her voice was small, she just moved forward into a hug, which he just held her for a minute, "Hey, Leigh, we've gotta go, ok?"

Leigh hugged herself, as she trailed slightly behind Nat and Clint, "A safe house," Tony shrugged, "What is this place?" Thor asked, stepping up the steps, "Let's hope." Clint said turning back towards them, they all stepped inside, "Honey?" he asked, "I'm home." he announced. Laura stepped around the corner, a small smile tugged at Leigh's lips, "Hi. Company. Sorry, I didn't call ahead." he leaned forward pressing a kiss to his wife's lips, "This is an agent of some kind." Tony commented to Thor,  "Gentlemen this is Laura." he introduced, "I know all of your names," Laura chuckled with a small wave, there was a pitter-patter of footsteps, "Oh, incoming," 

Lila and Cooper came running through the room, "Dad!" they exclaimed, "Hi buddy!" Leigh smiled lightly at the scene, "These are...smaller agents." Tony noted, and Leigh rolled her eyes, "Sure they are, Stark." 

"Did you bring Auntie Nat? And Leigh?" Lila asked, smiling up at Clint, Natasha stepped forward a smile forming on her face, "Why don't you hug her and find out?" she leaned down picking up the girl, "Hi, Lila." Leigh smiled, moving towards her and Nat. "Sorry for barging in on you." Steve apologized, "Yeah we would've called ahead, but we were too busy having no idea you existed."

Leigh smiled jokingly or at least tried to, "Ah for once I knew something before you, Stark." he sent her a very fake smile, "Funny."  she rolled her eyes, "Yeah, well, Fury help me set this up when I joined. He kept it off SHIELD's files. I'd like to keep it that way. I figure it's a good place to lay low." 

Leigh watched as Legos crunched under Thor's boot, "Honey," Laura smiled, "I've missed you." Natasha spoke taking a step forward to hug her, "How's little Natasha?" Leigh watched with an amused smile as Thor kicked the legos under the chair, "Nathaniel..." Natasha's face dropped into a look of mock offense, she leaned down by Laura's belly, "Traitor." 

Leigh laughed a little before leaning in to hug Laura, and the second she was in Laura's arms she felt like crying again. "What's wrong sweetheart?" Laura whispered into the hug, and Leigh just shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes, "I missed you, and she messed with my mind and the things I saw..." Leigh whispered, "I'm sorry Leigh," Laura spoke, "It was Ally," she spoke so quietly Leigh wasn't even sure that Laura had heard her, but the woman held her closer so she figured she had.
