Abort The Plan

The (H/C) haired girl stood starstruck in awe as the modest ship she waited on nimbly slipped through the small spaces in between all the parked and sometimes even moving boats, the city looked even grander the closer they got to it, but at the same time she could start to notice the little stains and trash on the streets.

As the small sailboat finally found an appropriate docking area to stop at, (Y/N) gasped in suprise as a giant ship came out of nowhere and blew past them while ruffling the water around them like scattered ribbons, but instead of becoming upset she stared at the ship in admiration.

The sails were huge and grand with pure white sheets like silken strings, the figurehead had some sort of childish yellow animal that made her lips unconsciously pull up into a cheery smirk, the wood looked as if it was constantly polished and seemed as if it never sailed before from how beautiful it all looked and..and there was a lawn!? The princess blinked owilishly at the flourishing green grass and the many scattered flowers all around the edges.

Once the wondrous fantasy finally disappeared over the horizon she huffed in slight jealousy, now why couldn't her dad come get her in a ship like that? He was a king wasn't he? She doubted he didn't have anything like that.

"OH SHIT!!" The girl immediately withdrew herself from her thoughts and rushed to her father's side and looked up to him in worry, his face was frozen in a sarcastic smirk with pale cheeks as a nervous sweat dripping down his temple, seeing how he was staring in mortification at the shore, she immediately calculated which way he was looking and found what he was staring at.

On the docks they were about to stop at, there were two men watching their ship with almost impatient gazes, one extremely tall man was clearly a sea wilderbeast with his blue scales and noticeable gills, wearing what seemed to have been an exotic cloth of some kind, while the man beside him was shorter yet still decently tall, he wore clothes that reminded (Y/N) enough of a vampire if his pale skin wasn't convincing enough, but his eyes looked more like shining gold ingots than actual eyes.

Her father finally seemed to have noticed her presence and immediately shoved her down with him to the lower deck, "WE can't let them see you!" (Y/N) merely huffed at her father's antics, she was a big girl, she knew how to take care of herself, "Daaaaddy! I wanna go and play!" Really, why were these two guys such trouble!?

Ignoring his daughter's pouting he took action, "okay, we gotta abort the plan, now listen to me closely sweetie, I'm gonna go up there and distract those two okay? While I do that, I want you to escape through the porthole and blend in with the townspeople until I find you, got all that?"

(Y/N) merely heard the words, 'escape through the porthole..' was she gonna escape like a ninja!? Or one of those secret agents in her adventure books!? How cool was that!? But as her mind wandered off, Shanks noticed the dazed expression and sighed in worry, this was going to be a catastrophe.

Shanks nervously chuckled as the two royals marched onto his now docked ship, "Mihawk! Jimbe! I didn't know you two were in my land! Especially here of all places!" The golden eyed man merely gave him an irritated glare while the sea wilderbeast nodded stiffly, but it seemed like Mihawk wasn't up for beating around the bush, "we're here to see you red hair"

As the two began their confrontation, none of them heard the soft creek of an opening porthole below the docks, "rumor has it you've been visiting the same off shore island every month and yet you don't have any apparent motive, you're not shipping supplies nor taking any valuable resources"

Shit, this was bad, the last thing he needed was the other royals getting interested now or suspicious, especially at a time like this, he had no interest in revealing his beloved daughter to anyone just yet..but it looks like these two aren't going to stop prying at him.

With an unhappy growl the redhead felt his insides start to bubble making his eyes become slit like a snake's and red as a ruby, he wasn't going to allow anything happen to her, not while his parental instincts kept giving him adrenaline to use up, "that place is off limits to you other royals, so don't even think about searching the place" the happy-go-lucky personality that Shanks was so known for went flying out of sight and into the distance.

As a heated argument escalated between the three royals, none of them noticed the tiny girl haul herself up onto the dock from underneath and crawl into the bowels of the famously nefarious town of no good theives.

(Y/N) gasped in absolute awe and scurried all around the sidewalk making few people look to the unusually short girl with questionable glances as they silently walked by.

She admired the fancy and amazing looking carriages that pranced by, some with golden decorations while few were black as night, the horses she noticed were all either muddy brown or snow white with short styled hair and strange caps on their heads, then she turned her head again to the towering buildings that eclipsed her small frame like foreboding fortresses, each and every one of them were built with large, beautiful grey bricks and oak wood that made her sigh.

This was architecture in it's finest.

Then suddenly she froze in midwalk and strangely covered her mouth with her fists to keep herself from squealing in excitement, sitting magically in the sunlight right across the street on the second floor in a massive window was the perfect top hat she was dreaming about.

Her mind was immediately set on that hat, she was gonna get it no matter what, she was absolutely certain that what her destiny hat! It was as good as hers.

With a mischievous and almost dangerous gleam in her eyes she didn't even bother to look both ways as she raced across the street, two unfortunate carriages that were crossing by, jerked back when the horses became frightened from her sudden appearance, making the passengers open their windows and scold their poor coachmen for their careless driving.

Many people in the sidelines haulted at the unusual spectacle while others quickly fled the scene, no one dared to make a ruckus at a town like this, but (Y/N) didn't notice the calamity at all as she continued with her driven mission, making it directly below the second floor where the hat resided she shuddered in excitement.

With her quick thinking and reckless habits, she carefully started to climb up the wall using the edges of the bricks that stood out of the building, people were quick to start gawking at her and mummer in mortification, was she perhaps another one of those cocky, flashy, new generation theives?

Finally, (Y/N) made it to the top of the first floor and was met face-to-face with her prize, she absolutely beamed in triumph and almost wanted to clap her hands in excitement, but just as she was about to swing herself through the nearby open window, she felt the brick underneath her palms crumble and give out.

In that moment her vision went askew, the oxygen in her lungs fled, and her body turned frightened.

She slid down backwards and started to plummet headfirst towards the brick sidewalks.
