Chapter 12
~* Kasumi's POV *~
"Mmh, well that's odd," I murmured as I stared at the sky. Seven thunder bolts have struck. Narukami must be having a tantrum again. Narukami is the god of lightning and her shrine is located in the sky. She really, really wants Tomoe as a familiar, that's how I know her. She can be quite annoying. By the look at the storm, I'm afraid she might go to the Mikage shrine.
I quickly got changed into a kimono before walking towards the bed. I smiled, staring at a sleeping Kurama. I leaned close to him and caressed his cheek.
"Kurama," I whispered. His eyes fluttered open. He sat up and glanced at the time. It was pretty early.
"I need to pay a visit to Tomoe, okay? I'll be back soon," I said softly. He nodded sleepily before falling back into bed, going back to sleep. I giggled, remembering last night. He must be very, very tired since we stayed up last night...
I walked downstairs before walking towards the door. I made sure to lock it, not wanting any fans to get in. With that, I began my walk to the Mikage Shrine.

"Tomoe!" I called as I entered the shrine. He appeared before me, angry as ever.
"Can you explain this?" he demanded, holding up a gossip magazine. I took it from his hand and stared at the picture on the front. My eyes widened. It was me and Kurama holding hands and another of us kissing. The title read, "Kurama's new girlfriend!"
I laughed nervously, avoiding Tomoe's eyes. "We got back together, obviously," I said simply. He opened his mouth to retort but I interrupted him.
"I am not here to discuss my love life. You saw the storm too, right?" I asked. He sighed, nodding. I knew how sick and tired he was of Narukami. I can see why, she is annoying and persistent.
We waited outside the shrine, waiting for the God of lightning. But what was odd was that the storm passed right passed us. I stared at the blue, clear sky in confusion.
"That was odd," I muttered. Tomoe agreed.
"Wait," I thought about it for a moment. "The storm went towards Nanami's school."
Tomoe and I exchange glances before running towards Nanami's school. I feared the worst. Narukami must be very angry at Nanami. She probably thought that Nanami stole Tomoe from her. I hope she's alright... she's probably the only human I like.
We finally made it to the school but there was a barrier. It must be Narukami's barrier, making humans not see her. We broke through it quickly, using our fox fires.
My eyes widened as I took in the scene in front of me. Narukami looked very angry as she grasped Nanami tightly.
"Nanami!" Tomoe shouted, running towards them. I quickly followed. "Tomoe," Nanami said in surprise.
"Nanami, are you okay?" I asked worriedly. She didn't get the chance to answer as Narukami started to talk.
"I see you have come, Tomoe," Narukami smiled. I glared at her with pure hatred. She's getting on my nerves.
"Narukami, what in the world is going on?" Tomoe demanded. I took a cautious step towards Nanami, waiting for the God of lightning to be distracted so I could snatch Nanami back. "I would like you to release that girl. Nanami is my lady and mistress."
"A little girl like this is your lady?" Narukami asked venomously. "How far have you fallen, Tomoe?"
"It irritated me to see you subordinating yourself to a human!" she sneered.
"That's none of your business!" Tomoe lunged at her. My eyes widened as she took out a familiar looking mallet. I ran towards them, trying to stop her. But I was too late...
"Grow smaller!" Narukami hit the mallet against Tomoe. A mist engulfed his body before his body shifted smaller. "Tomoe!" I screamed.
I gasped as I stared at the new Tomoe in front of me. He was now a little child. He looked at his body in shock. Aww, he looks so cute. Kasumi! Now is not the time!
Narukami placed her hand on Nanami's forehead, removing her Land God mark. I ran towards them and threw a fox fire at her. She dodged it the last moment but was successful at getting the mark. I bared my fangs at her making her smirk in victory.
I stood in front of Nanami protectively. She hid behind me in fear. I kept a watchful eye on the lightning god.
"You're next!" Narukami swung her mallet towards me. I had no time to react as it hit my head. The same mist surrounded me before my body changed. I stared at my mini body in surprise. I'm a child now!
"Kasumi!" Nanami shouted, picking me up in her arms. I huffed in annoyance.
"If you want to be restored to your old self, become my familiar, Tomoe," Narukami smiled proudly at her work. "Same goes for you, Kasumi. I wouldn't mind you being my familiar as well."
"When hell freezes over," I sneered, glaring. Since I was a child, I looked absolutely pathetic. She giggled at this making me narrow my eyes at her.
"Well, then, goodbye," Narukami disappeared.
We were back in Nanami's classroom. Tomoe and I were in Nanami's arms. This cannot get any worse...

"Aah!" I winced as pain shot out, giving me a terrible migraine. I rubbed it in pain, trying to soothe it. Tomoe winced too, having the same problem as me. Our bodies were rejecting the change. We will not get better until we get changed back into ourselves. I'm afraid we will fall unconscious soon.
Nanami stared at us in worry and placed her hand on our forehead. She gasped in shock. "You both have high fevers!"
We were currently on a bench park, having nowhere to go. I would call Kurama but my pride got in the way. I am ashamed of my looks right now and I don't want anyone to know.
Tomoe suddenly fainted. "Tomoe!" Nanami panicked.
I got lightheaded, my vision getting blurry. I fell onto Nanami's lap, not having the ability to sit up anymore. My eyes began to close.
"Kasumi!" Nanami panicked, not knowing what to do. I felt bad for her. Having two small children to deal with.
I closed my eyes, letting the darkness consume me.
Kurama...
