"I've got sunshine... on a cloudy day."

Alessia sang the old song to her niece as the baby gurgled with her bright brown eyes. It was the following day after Bella's awakening and while the parents had gone off to enjoy her first day immortality as well as her last human birthday the child had stayed with her aunt. Bella had been slightly reluctant to let her daughter go but it hadn't taken much to convincing.

The newborn had handed her daughter off to Alessia who had promised to make sure the child was not set down all night. The redhead felt guilty for hogging the child from Rosalie and therefore agreed to grant the blonde the night shift so long as she got her back by sunrise. True to her word, her adoptive sister had handed back the child as the sun began to paint the sky in light.

Renessme had now grown considerably, her hair was an even richer shade of red and her eyes were rounding out like her mothers. The changes were becoming abundantly clear the more Alessia stared at her nieces face and although it was slightly concerning, for the most part she was just joyful.

"When it's cold out... I've got the month of May..." Alessia continued to hum to the button nose child. Her feet had carried her outside, sitting against one of the tall oaks while she bounced the baby on her knee. Renessme was wide awake as her aunt continued to hum in perfect harmony. Her chubby fingers pushed her aunts cheeks and moved through the copper streaks of hair. Nessie giggled in happiness the longer Alessia sang.

"I guess you'll say, what can make me feel this way my girl," Alessia continued to softly sing the lyrics, enjoying her niece's giggles.

At some point during her solo Jacob had walked outside, he was standing on the wooden porch, watching as his imprint continued on and enjoying her voice. His heart slightly melted imagining children of their own, the love in her eyes mirrored for their own bundle. It just a dream however, but if she wanted it he'd make it his mission to give it to her.

"You gonna stand there all day?" Her voice rang a little louder as she settled Nessie back down into her arms, securing the newborn as her golden eyes fell upon him. Her expression was content, something he'd only dreamed of seeing upon her face.

His footsteps practically bounded her way, hurrying as to be near her. He craved her all the time, from the lilac hint to her smell, to the perfect rose tint to her lips. It was all he ever craved, and even being as near as she would allow supplied his fill.

"How is she?" He timidly asked, taking a spot a foot away from where she sat. Alessia's dress pooled around her, creamy thighs barely covered by the light pink flowers covering the clothes. Her skin was so flawless, his fingers itched to run his hands over it but he kept still. They weren't ready for that.

Alessia smiled, noticing how the color of his shirt underneath his khaki jacket matched her dress to perfection. Even the color of her heels was identical to his jacket, she suspected Alice at play.

"Perfect, she woke up happy." Alessia answered, watching as the young child pushed her chunky hand towards Jacob.

The wolf responded instantly, giving into her grunt and holding out his hand for her to press into his lap. Jacob subconsciously moved closer, using the excuse of his arm being yanked.

Alessia didn't seem to notice, relishing in the deep rumble of his laughter as the child used his hand to smack her own tiny palms against. The strawberry blonde found herself giggling, bumping shoulders with the wolf.

"Bella and Edward are coming." She motioned towards the house where the faintest sound of the front door and footsteps entering were heard.

"I take it they liked their new home?" Jacob questioned with a raised brow. It was early on in the morning but vampires didn't need to sleep which meant that the newlyweds had been up too something entirely else.

Alessia crinkled her nose, "don't even try to bring that up."

Jacob laughed, standing from his spot and padding his wet palms against his jeans, outstretching his hands towards his mate. He patiently waited as she adjusted Renessme in her arms and took his outstretched arm.

Despite not necessarily needing the help Alessia still took his hand and allowed him to pull her up, her defenses were slowly dropping around the young wolf and she was perfectly okay with it. Jacob held her hand longer then necessary, enjoying her warm smile directed his way until finally he reluctantly pulled away. There was so many things he needed to say, so many things he would shout to her but the time wasn't right, he didn't know when it would ever be.

"Lets go Ness, your mom's getting anxious." She spoke softly to the child and balanced herself down towards the porch steps. Jacobs stayed near, hands always a little further out just incase she lost her footing. It wasn't likely but that didn't mean he would take any chances.

When they arrived inside Emmett had finished some innuendo towards the couple and Bella was shaking her head his way. The mothers eyes fell upon her child and she gravitated in her direction, giving her sister in law a warm smile. "Good morning, how was she?"

"Perfect like always." Alessia answered, transferring the child into her mothers arms. "She woke up about an hour ago, Alice changed her and I took her outside for her bottle. She finished it in a matter of minutes, I think she's gonna want another one soon."

Bella nodded, eyes flickering towards Jacob. There seemed not to be any animosity in her ruby gaze but still Alessia side stepped in front of the wolf slightly, catching Bella's attention once more. "That's great, thanks you two."

Alessia nodded, ignoring Jacobs intense gaze to her profile and walking in Rosalie and Alice's direction where they had a stack of magazines. Alice was circling most of the things intently, while Rosalie looked up towards her sister and made space. "What are we shopping for now?"

The phone interrupted the response from the blonde vampire, eyes all immediately flickering towards the silver device which flashed only one name.

Charlie Swan.

Bella's eyes almost immediately dropped in sadness, pressing Renessme to her chest just a little closer as the baby grew quiet as well.

"For that," Rosalie answered the red heads question. "It's gonna be fall soon at Dartmouth which means we need clothes suitable for winter, nicer then this. I'm thinking about going with all neutrals."

Carlisle was speaking to the newborn vampire now, Alessia attention to his words. "He's been calling twice a day. He's in pretty rough shape. Eventually, we'll have to tell him you didn't make it. He needs to mourn, Bella."

Bella swallowed thickly, nodding her head despite the obvious pain the envelops her face. "Okay. We'll do it tomorrow."

"I'm gonna miss this place." Emmett spoke up, standing from the lazy boy and heading towards the stairs.

"We'll come back. We always do." Rosalie assured him, following his trail as she grabbed a few magazines to go.

It was Jacob that stopped them all in their tracks. "Wait. Nobody said anything about leaving."

Alessia cleared her throat, standing and walking his way she knew this had been an inevitable conversation and action. She was the only other person who had something keeping her here, well for now at least. Despite the painful revelation she knew that being clear with her mate would be better then dancing around the subject. "Once people believe Bella's dead, we can't risk anyone seeing her. We have to go, all of us."

"So you just disappear?" His voice slightly cracked and despite her speaking of them as a group it was to her the question was directed too. The air suddenly grew awkward as everyone looked away, knowing this conversation was between them and them alone.

"Jacob, we don't have another choice... I don't have another choice." Alessia answered, confirming his horror.

"No, you can't... not after what we've been through. Not after everything that's happened... I can't just let you." Jacob was stepping away, refusing to believe the truth. He ran his hands through his hair, shaking his head and turning away. "There has to be another way, it can't end like this."

He walked out of the house and Alessia couldn't do a thing to stop him.

She couldn't lie and tell him everything would be fine. She couldn't stay.

What was she to do?

"JACOB!!" Bella shoved the wolf into the patio the moment he had shown back up to the house. Her eyes were murderous, hands balled into fists but even so she was restating herself. "How could you!!"

Alessia stepped out, following her brother who looked equally furious to his bride. One hand was massaging her temples as she looked at her mate and sighed heavily, shaking her head at him in pure annoyance.

"Look, I solved a problem. You were leaving. What did you expect me to do?" Jacob answered, not sounding at all remorseful to what he'd done.

"You don't realize the danger you've put him in. The Volturi will kill anyone who knows about us." Bella's voice maintained its innocence even with the anger.

Jacob shook his head. "No, I didn't tell him about you. Just me. I only said you were different."

"And that we have a niece who we adopted." Edward continued, searching his mind for any more information. He was agitated, Alessia could tell because she felt the same way.

"Unbelievable." She spoke softly, leaning against the balcony as already this day seemed to be longer then the last.

"I mean, seriously, Jake, he's not just gonna let that go." Bella commented.

"Did you consider the physical pain he'll put Bella through? It'll be like sticking a white hot branding iron down her throat. And that's assuming she can control her thirst." Edward quickly explained what this would cost them all.

Jacob seemed to soften at that. "Look, Charlie's been in hell. And I know you'll be much happier with him in your life."

Edward scoffed. "Jacob, don't try and pretend you're doing this for anyone but yourself. "

Everyone's eyes fell upon Alessia who looked away. Jacob kept his eyes on his imprint, not able to read her expression. "Sorry you feel that way because he'll be here in 10 minutes."

Edward and Bella chose to let the conversation die there as they turned back around to attempt to figure out their situation. Alessia finally seemed to look at her mate, "why would you do this?"

"For you, you don't want to leave." He answered her, voice speaking kindly.

She shook her head, walking towards the door. "Did it ever occur to you to ask me? Maybe I do want to leave?"

Jacob had no answer to that.

Alessia had kept her distance for most of Charlie Swan's visit, although they had a relatively good relationship in the past she didn't want to be near Jacob right now and he had kept a watchful eye on the group. Mostly she had said a quick hello and goodbye before finally joining her family.

"Well done, Bella." Jasper praised the newborn vampire as Alessia walked into the room. "Never seen a newborn show that kind of restraint."

"Yeah, nicely done." Alessia joined in, patting her sister in laws shoulder. "I'm proud of you newbie."

"I'm not sure she is a newborn. She's so tame." Emmett taunted, moving his attention from the TV in the living room to his family.

Alessia bit back a laugh while the rest of the family snickered slowly.

"Emmett, don't antagonize her." Edward warned his brother. "She's the strongest one in the house."

Alessia stayed silent, knowing very well how competitive her brother was. To show just how unaffected Emmett was he stood and eyed Bella, "Please."

Alessia cleared her throat, "there's only one way to settle it then."

A set of knuckles cracked loudly towards the garage of the Cullen home, Emmett hyping himself up as he moved a boulder towards the dirt where he dropped it, Bella stepping near. Alessia and the rest of the Cullen's stood around the two, watching in amusement as they prepared to battle for the title. She stood next to Jacob unintentionally, her elbow just barely brushing against him.

"Don't hurt yourself, Emmett." Edward spoke to his brother who gave him an annoyed glare and placed his arm on the touch surface.

Bella hesitated, looking towards her husband who nodded kindly. There was no doubt in Alessia's mind that she would be capable of doing this, with all the human blood still coursing through her veins it was going to be a walk in the park. And so Bella confidently secured her own arm, and began her win.

It took her less then a minute to win, Emmett's face of astonishment made it all worth the while. Bella looked like a child as she gloated, punching the rest of the rock like it was made of nothing. Pieces broke apart and Renessme clapped in happiness as everyone followed her contagious giggle.

The family seemed to let this settle them for the rest of the day, they all began to converse amongst themselves while Jacob and Alessia awkwardly turned to one another.

Jacob motioned for her to follow him out towards the stream that passed their house and she willingly walked alongside him.

Jacob kicked at the rocks with his dark boot, sending them skipping across the stream for awhile as the silence of the forest surrounded them. Once they were far enough and the sunset was the only light near he turned towards her.

"I feel like a broken record repeating this but I'm sorry... I panicked earlier. I don't want you or Nessie leaving me and I know that's just another selfish thing I've done but it's true. I've messed up a lot Alessia, more ways then you should have to deal with but actually having you leave me was like getting ripped apart. I don't want to ever go through that again which is why I panicked but I understand if you want to leave... I won't stop you."

The strawberry blonde sighed, she didn't know if she believed him this time. She wanted to believe him, wanted to so desperately nod her head and kiss his lips but what if it wasn't real? What if this happiness was shredded once more? Still, she could already tell the difference between the last few times he had promised her things like this.

Jacob was holding his breath for an answer and just when it seemed like he would deflate she spoke up, "telling me these things and proving them are two different thing Jacob Black. I can't go through that stuff again Jake... I refuse to feel that much pain. So if I stay, and I get even the slightest feeling I will leave. I wont even care. You have to really try, it won't be easy."

"I promise... I'll be your sunshine."

I'm not sure how I feel about this but it took me FOREVER to write Jesus.
