"I can't believe you're going to church," Madison began, pulling the lid off a tube of red lipstick. "The last time you went was probably when Jesus was still around."
"Actually," Klaus stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, "Jesus died a long time before I was even born."
"The church lied about when he was born, they probably lied about when he died too," she leant against the sink with a flirtatious smile. "Or maybe, they lied about his existence all together."
"You know, over the course of my very long life, I have learnt that you can't destroy someone's faith," Klaus turned towards her and placed his hands on her hips, her baby bump stopping them from moving closer. "And maybe the church did make it all up, or maybe it all really happened, but either way it doesn't stop anyone from having faith."
"You're wrong," Madison wrapped her arms around his neck, reaching up and lowering her voice into a whisper, "you can take away someone's faith. It's not easy, but it is possible."
The Supreme turned his head towards her with her thin fingers, quickly pecking his pink lips. She pulled away from him, smirking at the lipstick she had left on his lips.
-
Hayley entered the study where Madison flicked through a grimoire, only half listening to the conversation happening around her until her sister joined.
"I have a theory about who one of them could be. Celeste. I mean, it's got to be. Davina was trying to tell us, she was drawing pictures of Celeste," Hayley shrugged. "She was warning us that a great evil is coming."
"I have been saying that for so long and no one gave it any thought," Madison frowned.
"First, Papa Tunde returns to settle old scores, now your murdered lover is back," Klaus glanced over at his brother. "This isn't witches attacking vampires. They're declaring war on us."
"Great, because we didn't have enough to deal with," the Supreme rolled her eyes.
-
"I thought I was gonna have to drag you two to the plantation kicking and screaming," Rebekah smirked as she, Hayley, and Madison walked towards the front porch of the plantation house.
"Yeah, well, we all just wanna protect me and the baby, right?"
Rebekah raised her eyebrows in disbelief, "Hey, I'm on your side, remember? So, what gives?"
"Tonight's a full moon, Rebekah," Hayley sighed.
"So what? You've never killed anyone, you can't turn."
"Yes, but we wanted to invite a few people over..." Madison trailed off.
"Of course. Every red-blooded American werewolf will be a bundle of fur and sharp teeth tonight, whilst your cursed Crescent Clan will be – "
"Human," Hayley cut her off, "but only for a few hours, and won't be again until the next full moon. So I asked Josh to get a message out to Eve in the Bayou."
"Josh isn't dead yet? Well good on him. I love a nice survival story." They watched a man wheel a dolly out of the house. "Who the bloody hell is that?"
"Kegs out back, alright?" Madison called to the man.
"Yup."
The witch cleared her throat awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck his her hand as she turned back to face Rebekah.
"Right. It appears you weren't gonna wait for me to grant you permission to throw a kegger," the Original teased.
"Listen, you all want me safe? Fine. I'll do as I'm told. I'll play damsel in the glass tower." The Supreme shrugged. "But tonight's the one night a month that Hayley can meet her family. Now, you could rat us out and send us to our rooms, or you could help us to throw one hell of a party."
-
A light laugh escaped Madison's lips as one of the wolves spun her around in time to the beat of the music some of the other werewolves were making. Her hazel eyes shone brightly under the dim strings of lights that illuminated the backyard.
She danced for a little while longer before she spotted Hayley heading inside. Madison excused herself and followed her sister.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, just a bit overwhelmed," the brunette grabbed a trash bag, beginning to clean up cups and beer cans that littered house. "All my life I've dreamed of meeting my family, and now I am."
"So go meet them. I'll clean up," Madison grabbed the trash bag from her.
"They're your family too, Maddy."
"Go have fun," the Supreme ignored her sister's comment, pushing her out the door.
Madison continued to clean up the mess, tucking her blonde hair behind her ear as she did. One of the werewolves soon joined her, making her stop what she was doing and look at him. He had shaggy, curly brown hair, and there was something about him that seemed familiar.
"I seriously doubt you invited us here to wait on us." The werewolf smiled kindly before remembering they hadn't been introduced. "You're Madison. I'm Jackson. It's nice to see you again."
Madison pointed a long, thin finger at him, "You're the wolf who's been watching me."
"I gotta keep my eye on you. Precious cargo and all."
"Right. Gotta protect the miracle baby."
"No, that's not what I meant. I don't care about the baby." The Supreme raised her eyebrows in shock. "Sorry, that came out wrong. I mean, of course I care. You're a Labonair. A baby, it's a big deal. But personally, my interest is in you."
"You don't even know me."
"Our parents knew each other. They were of the same people, but not the same bloodline," Jackson began to explain. "Now, you know how pack hierarchy works, right? Everybody has their part to play, and we had our part, too."
"I wouldn't call myself a Labonair. Or a werewolf. And I certainly wouldn't call myself part of any pack," Madison shrugged. "But I'll bite. What part was that?"
Jackson let out a sigh, "You were supposed to be my wife."
"I think you have me mistaken with my sister, Hayley. She's a full blood Crescent Wolf, and I'm just the bastard child of whoever the hell our father was."
"You're the Supreme Witch pregnant with Klaus Mikaelson's child, correct?" Madison nodded. "Then I'm not mistaken."
-
"I know it's a lot to take in," Jackson's fingers ran over the piano keys, soft music echoing throughout the room.
"You think? I just wanted Hayley to meet her family." Madison let out a sigh. "I never imagined I'd meet my husband from some weird-ass arranged marriage."
"I guess you don't know about any of this because there was never anyone around to teach you. The Crescents aren't just any pack of wolves. The bloodline goes back to the very beginning. Two families – yours and mine. I guess that makes us kind of a royalty."
"This is a joke, right? I mean, if you're royalty, where's the throne?" She raised an eyebrow questioningly.
"New Orleans used to be our town, and we lost it all because of some in-fighting. The vampires came after us, and if our families were united, we could've taken them," Jackson recalled as if he had been present. "So, our parents decided to bring the two lines back together, and you and I were betrothed."
"I'm sorry. This is ridiculous," Madison waved her hands in the air. "Why me? Why not Hayley. She's the wolf."
"It originally was going to be Hayley. But then word got out about your father's affair with a witch, and that consequently you would be a witch. They figured that if we were married, then we'd be merging two communities, and that we'd be safer," he shrugged. "Look, obviously things didn't work out the way anyone thought they would. Our pack made a huge misstep with the vampires when we refused to back down, and Marcel had us cursed by a witch. You and Hayley are the last ones of your bloodline, Madison. These people will follow you. You can help them – you and what you represent."
"And what is that exactly?"
"A time when things were different. When our people fought back. And after everything you went through to find us – you're the one who's gonna break our curse."
"What are you talking about?" Madison asked slowly and cautiously.
"Your witch friend. She told Eve she was coming here tonight to set us free."
"Wait, what witch friend?" She furrowed her brow. "I'm not friends with any witches. We hate each other."
-
Madison bit her lip, running a hand through her hair worrisomely as she impatiently waiting for Elijah to pick up.
"Madison," the Original finally answered, breathing heavily.
"Elijah, something's going on with the witches."
"Listen to me. You were right."
"I usually am," the Supreme smirked.
"Celeste is back. Niklaus, Rebekah, Hayley – you're all in danger."
A strong gust of wind slammed a door shut making Madison jump as she made her way back to the living room where Jackson had been waiting patiently, Hayley now by his side.
"What's going on?" The werewolf questioned.
"It's a trap. I didn't make a deal with any witch," the Supreme shook her head.
"What?"
"Madison, you have to find Rebekah," Elijah instructed. "You stay with her until I get there."
Orange flames licked at the perimeter of the plantation house, and panic began to rise in the two girls. The three supernaturals rushed to the door, only to find that a boundary spell had been set over the threshold, rendering them trapped.
"Elijah, it's a spell," Madison pinched the bridge of her nose. "They're trapping us inside."
-
"We have to get out of here," Hayley panicked.
Jackson threw the piano stool at the window in an attempt to break the window, only for the stool break upon impact.
The flames grew higher, orange tongues licking at the curtains and spreading fire further throughout the house.
The werewolf grabbed a tablecloth and emptied the water from a vase onto it, handing it to the pregnant witch, "Here. Breathe through this."
The Supreme did as she was told, but handed it to her sister when she began to have a coughing fit. Hayley refused at first and tried to push the cloth back into Madison's hands, but stopped under the harsh gaze of her little sister.
Suddenly the window Jackson had tried to break shattered due to Elijah throwing himself through it. He grabbed the sisters, using his supernatural abilities to get them to safety where he deposited them on the ground.
"Where's Rebekah?"
"I don't know. She went off with one of them," Hayley shrugged.
"Elijah, my friend is still in there," Madison pleaded urgently, locking eyes with the Original until he let out a sigh and ran back inside.
Elijah returned moments later, dumping Jackson next to Madison who smiled gratefully.
-
Hayley, Madison, and Jackson stood outside the plantation house, the Supreme unable to take her eyes off the house being consumed by flames.
Jackson let out a sigh and pointed to the moon, "I have to go. The moon."
"Listen, Jackson. I wanna thank you for protecting Madison," Hayley smiled kindly. "Not just tonight."
"I have been dreaming about this since I was a kid. I never thought it would go like this."
"Hey," Madison turned her gaze away from the flames. "I won't stop until I'll find a way to break this curse. I promise."
Jackson held her gaze for a long moment, not saying a word before he finally left.
-
Elijah stormed into the compound furiously, Madison and Hayley in tow.
"MARCEL! Where is my brother?"
"I got guys out looking for him right now," Marcel assured, and Elijah began to throw vampires against the walls in anger.
"Elijah!" Hayley yelled in an attempt to stop him.
"Klaus threw one of his classic temper tantrums, snapped my neck, tried to take on a coven of witches by himself." The younger vampire explained in frustration. "He got dropped. I don't know where he is or how to find him."
"Well you better figure it out, because they also have Rebekah. Every one of you will help me to find them," Madison demanded. "I'm gonna kill them all, like I should have a long time ago."
