Madison sat on the couch, igniting and extinguishing a candle repeatedly in boredom.

"I told you Agnes, I feel great!" she gave the older witch a thumbs up.

"Madison, you have 4 nicotine patches on," she retorted. "Besides, you are overdue for a checkup."

"What am I gonna do? Pop into the Quarter for a quick ultrasound? Marcel thinks I left town, and if he or any of his guys see me we're all screwed," she stood up, retrieving something from a drawer.

"A lot of women would kill to have a child. It strikes me as odd that you're not taking better care of yours," Rebekah glared at the young witch, jealousy lacing her voice.

"I know a doctor out in the Bayou, off the beaten path. Now, I took the liberty of making an appointment for you. Tonight, after-hours, just us. Vampires will never get word of it."

Madison looked at Agnes for a moment, trying to decide if she had an ulterior motive or not.

"Okay, fine. Bayou-baby-doctor it is," she rolled her eyes and sat down in front of the coffee table with a silver chalice filled with beads.

Madison gave Agnes a sarcastic smile as she left, and Klaus a real one as he entered.

"Please, sister, tell me you're not still at it with the internet search. How does one begin, anyway? Just type in anonymous attic?" he taunted his sister, pouring himself a glass of scotch.

"Someone has to find Elijah, even if I have to search every bloody attic in New Orleans," Rebekah said suddenly.

"Like looking for a needle in a rather large pile of needles," Madison teased. "Look, I'm going to find him for you, not because I'm feeling nice but because I need a favour."

"I'll do anything, just find my brother. Please," Rebekah shut the laptop watched the witch pour the beads from the chalice onto the table. Madison held her hands over the beads and closed her eyes. "Is that it? Do you know where he is?"

"St. Ann's Church," she used her telekinesis to put all the beads back in the chalice.

"What kind of favour did you need?" Rebekah grinned.

"Help me find my family," Madison answered simply. "Now go get your brother back."

"Divination?" Klaus questioned. "I haven't seen that done in years. How is it you can practice magic and not get caught anyway?"

"A Supreme's magic isn't like a normal witch's magic. I guess Davina can't detect it," she shrugged. "Or maybe it's the fact that I'm technically dead."

Madison watched as a tall blonde rushed down the stairs and headed towards the door.

"Who's that?" the witch questioned.

"Camille. She's my stenographer."

The pair watched as the bartender exited the house.

"Camille," Madison repeated as if to test how it sounded. "French. My mother was French. I think. I don't remember much about her, just that she cheated on her husband, ran away, had me, and then killed herself."

"She would've been proud of you, you know," Klaus sat down on the couch next to her.

"I highly doubt that," she unconsciously leant into his side. "I wouldn't be proud of me. I mean, I'm gonna be a single teen mom, and I'm supposed to be the leader of a coven that won't listen to anyone."

"You're not going to be a single teen mother," the hybrid wrapped an arm around the young witch. "You'll have me, you will always have me."

Later that night Agnes drove Madison to the Bayou where the obstetrician was. It was dark and Madison couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

"This is the doctor's office?" she raised her eyebrows at the elder.

"Dr. Paige is only this far out because Marcel's men kept terrorizing her patients. Go! She won't bite!" Agnes encouraged, only to get a glare in return.

"Sorry if I'm a little weary of you, last time you tried to help me I ended up dead," the Supreme said bitterly before getting out of the car and walking towards the clinic.

It didn't take long for the doctor to come fetch the witch and begin the ultrasound, and soon the heartbeat of her unborn child filled the room.

"Your baby's heart rate is perfect," Dr. Paige said with a smile.

"I knew it," Madison couldn't help but smile in return. "She's a tough one, like her mom."

Madison was handed a tissue to wipe the gel off her stomach before pulling her shirt back down.

"That's a unique birthmark," she observed the crescent moon shaped birthmark on Madison's shoulder.

"We're pretty much done here, right?" the witch put her jacket back on to cover the birthmark, ignoring the doctor's statement.

Rebekah:
Where are you?

"Your blood pressure is a bit high, I've got something for it," Dr. Paige walked out of the room as Madison texted the Original back.

Madison:
Bayou clinic with doctor.

A wolf's loud howl startled the young witch, and she got up, looking out the window to see a car's headlights. Anxiety and suspicion filled Madison's body as the doctor returned with the medication.

"Ah, you know, I'm actually not that good with pills," Madison's anxiety levels were rising rapidly. "Which must sound ridiculous coming from an ex drug addict."

"Neither am I, truth be told," there was an undertone of nervousness in her voice.

Dr. Paige put the prescription bottle on the table and started to prepare something, Madison not paying attention as she looked out the window again. The Supreme turned around to see the doctor with a large syringe in her hands.

"What the hell," she breathed in shock as the doctor lunged at the witch.

Madison used her magic to take the syringe, head-butting the doctor as she did so. The young witch stabbed the syringe into Dr. Paige's neck, resulting in her passing out and fall to the floor.

She let herself pause for a moment, regaining her composure when she saw some intimidating looking men running towards the door. Madison thought quickly and used her magic to shut the door and lock it. The doorknob rattled profusely as she struggled to open the window.

But she got it in the end, and when she men finally broke the door down Madison was already gone.

-

Madison ran for as long as she could, finally stopping when she was too tired to continue. She hid behind a large tree, laughing silently to herself when the men ran straight past her. She ran up to the men, kicked the first one in the stomach and knocked him to the ground just as Marcel had taught her. She kicked the next man down too, ysy in her magic to snap his neck.

The third man to attack wielded a knife in his hands, but his reflexes weren't fast enough to stop the girl from taking the knife and slitting his throat. The fourth – who was carrying a shotgun– had more luck, though, firing a shot which hit her shoulder. But Madison didn't let that stop her, she used her telekinesis to send the gun flying into her hands. Madison lined up her target easily; the bullet hit him right between the eyes.

The last man standing began to approach her, but fell to the ground with a snapped neck before he reached her, thanks to Rebekah.

"Have to say, I'm impressed," the blonde Original smirked as the witch unloaded the gun. "You're hurt."

"I've been through worse," Madison let the gun in her hands fall to the gun, stashing the bullets in the pocket of her jacket. "How did you find me?"

"Your text got me halfway, vamp hearing did the rest. Who are they?" Rebekah looked down at the dead bodies.

"Witches. Extremists," she explained before Rebekah started yelling.

"There're more of them. Run!" Madison looked wearily at the vampire before beginning to run. "If I had a dollar for every mess my family has got me into..."

Madison heard the arrows lodge into the Original's heart and she whipped around to see her fall.

"Rebekah!" she cried out in a panic.

A man approached the unsuspecting witch from behind, covering her mouth and nose with a chloroform soaked rag. Madison's screams were muffled and horrible memories entered her mind. Soon the blonde fell to the ground, nightmares of the worst night of her life filling her unconscious mind.

A 16 year old Madison Montgomery exited bar, wrapping her thin jacket tighter around her body. Some drunken men leaning against the wall outside whistled at her, but she ignored it and continued on her way.

"Where do you think you're going, sugar?" one of them appeared in front of her, blocking her path.

"Please don't, I just wanna go home," she shook her head lightly, soft curls bouncing.

"Why is it past your bed time?" he teased, leaning down to match her height. She could smell the alcohol on his breath.

Madison pushed past the man but he grabbed her arm and dragged her into the dark alleyway, pressing a chloroform soaked cloth over her face. Her screams went unheard as she quickly passed out.

When Madison finally regained her consciousness the men were taking turns having their way with her, and there wasn't anything she could do about it. She let the tears fall from her eyes as they took the last bit of innocence she had left.

That was the night her life truly began to fall apart.

-

Rebekah walked around the clinic, looking for clues as to where Madison might be. Her eyes landed on the doctor, who was still passed out on the floor next to the used syringe.

"Wow! You abandoned your quest for power to help out your family!" Rebekah exclaimed sarcastically as her brother appeared next to her. "Having an off day?"

"Who took her, Rebekah?" Klaus asked calmly, even though on the inside he was panicking like crazy. He hadn't cared for someone who wasn't his family that much in years.

"I don't know," she answered simply.

"What do you mean you don't know? And who killed her attackers?" the Hybrid demanded.

"I don't know! I had an arrow in my heart. If it wasn't Madison who killed them, then – " Rebekah cut herself off when she heard the wolves howling outside. Klaus looked at her with raised eyebrows. "Lovely. Maybe the other bitches will know where she is."

Klaus rolled his eyes and followed his sister outside where Madison, who was covered head to toe in dirt, was stumbling towards them. Fear was evident in her eyes and she audibly whimpered when Klaus gently placed his hands on her shoulders, making sure that she wasn't hurt.

"Madison! What happened? Tell me what happened," he said softly, not wanting to scare her anymore than she already was.

"I can't remember," she lied, not wanting to talk about any of it.

"You've completely healed. There's not a scratch on you," he observed, lifting her chin up with his finger.

"Don't touch me," she began to hyperventilate.

Rebekah saw the witch's behaviour and ran over to her, wrapping an arm around her protectively. She instantly calmed down.

"Leave her alone!" she stopped and thought for a moment. "It's the baby. The vampire blood – Klaus' vampire blood – in your system. It can heal any wound."

Klaus turned and stared at them incredulously. He was confused at Madison's behaviour, only hours earlier she had been cuddled up to his side, and now she wouldn't even look him in the eye.

"Your own child healed you," Klaus smiled at the thought. "How did you escape? Outnumbered, unarmed? Those men were ripped to shreds!"

"I think it was the wolf. I think it's trying to protect me," Madison's voice was quiet, and they wouldn't have heard it had it not been for their vampire hearing.

"The witches were supposed to protect you!" he pointed at Madison angrily. "When I get my hands on Sophie Deveraux – "

"It wasn't Sophie," Rebekah began.

"It was Agnes," the witch finished as Rebekah helped her sit on the stairs.

"Fine! Agnes, Sophie, it's all the same to me! I'll slaughter the lot of them!"

"Do it and I will make you feel more pain than you ever imagined possible," Madison threatened weakly.

"Not if Elijah gets there first," Rebekah spoke, stopping an argument from breaking out between the two.

"Elijah? Did you find him?" the blonde looked up at the vampire.

"He's been in touch, and he has a plan. All he asks is that we take care of you."

"Speaking of lost family members," Klaus began. "I've got a little present for you back home."

"What are you talking about?" Rebekah furrowed her brow.

"Madison wanted to find her family, so I did," he had a warm feeling in his chest when he saw the smile on her face. "One of them anyway. Her name is Hayley, she's your sister."

"I have a sister?"

"Well, half-sister, but a sister nonetheless."

"Hey, so, can we go home now? I'd really like to meet her," Klaus nodded with a smile as she stood up.

Madison went to walk but her knees buckled and she started to fall. Madison braced herself for the harsh impact but it never came. Klaus gently picked the witch up in his arms, carrying her bridal-style towards the car.

"Oh, I've got you, love. I've got you," he whispered into her hair.

-

Rebekah had driven back to the Plantation house while Klaus sat in the back with the witch in his arms. She had stopped flinching at his touch, realising who he was. Klaus carried her inside and placed her on the couch opposite the brunette who had been waiting there patiently for over an hour.

"Oh my god, is she okay?" Hayley stood up when she saw Madison's torn and dirty clothes.

"I think so," he brushed the hair from her face. "Madison, love, this is Hayley."

"You're my sister?" she asked tiredly.

"According to your boyfriend, yes," she chuckled.

"I'm not her – " Klaus was cut off by Madison shushing him.

"I'm Madison Montgomery," she introduced herself, standing up to shake the girl's hand. "And I feel really light-headed and I think I might pass out soon."

"I'm Hayley Marshall," the brunette shook the witch's hand. "And we can wait until the morning to talk because I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

"Okay," Madison sounded exhausted.

Her knees became weak once again and startled to fall backwards, only to be caught by Klaus again.

"Off to bed, little witch."

Klaus carried her upstairs and changed her clothes before tucking her into bed. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead and turned to leave, but her hand gripped his wrist tightly before he could.

"Stay," she whispered.

And so he did.
