Chapter 13: Everybody Cleanup
The Wild Rangers decided to help the siblings clean up the house, since part of it was their fault for failing to protect the siblings. Together, they were able to clean up the paint, and fruit punch in the house. Good thing, it was only the living room, and kitchen. Somehow, the battle was kept in the bottom part of house.
"Oof! Ok! I'm done. Phew" Tyge said exhausted, lying on the couch, Lapara sitting near him. Everyone was exhausted from the long cleanup. Lóng was on the couch near the window, keeping a lookout for his mom's car.
Horus looked at his wings, finding some smudges of juice, and paint on it. "I greatly prefer that we do not bring this up to the other rangers" he pointed out, sighing. He found it slightly embarrassing that they did a chore.
"As long as it's not dirt or mud, I can tolerate it" Lapara commented, glancing at her hand, also covered in paint, and juice smudges. The snow leopard wasn't a huge fan on getting dirty. This time, she didn't mind the juice and paint.
Actually, both the rangers, and the siblings had juice and paint smudges. Lóng and Zuna had the most on their hair and clothes because of their battle against Shanjiâ. The rangers had only small smudges from the cleaning.
Honey, who was lying on the floor, noticed something. She sat straight up, and realized Zuna was not with them. Her eyes widen as she realized something. "Wait where's Zuna? Did she clean her room yet?" She asked them all, and everyone's eyes widen.
Lóng turned to her, face palming. "Aiya! I forgot about that" he said, shaking his head. "Just to be clear, I'm not cleaning her bedroom" Tyge reminded them, pointing his finger up in the air.
But Lóng then heard the sound of a car pulling up, and he turned back to the window. He spotted a blur car, parking near their house. He knew who's car that was. "Mama's back! Quick! Transform!" He told them alarm, motioning his arms for them to run.
The Wild Rangers quickly transformed into their pet forms, and scattered all over the living room, hiding in various spots. The door clicked opened, and Renée entered the house.
"Ni Hao mama" Lóng told his mom, walking to her. "Ni Hao Lóng. Oh" she said surprised to see her son covered in juice splat, and paint plus his hair all messy. She chuckled at him, finding that he looked almost like boy version of Zuna.
"I'm guessing Zuna wouldn't clean her room without a fight right?" She asked him, gently removing the headband off his head. He smiled sheepishly at her as she smoothed his hair. To be honest, even if Shanjiâ didn't show up, Zuna would still put up a fight.
"Speaking of Zuna, where is she? It feels too quiet in here" she asked, looking around for her daughter. Usually, Zuna would be running to her when she got home.
"My guess locked up in her room" he suggested to her, shaking his head. His mom shook her head, sighing as she settled her bag on the coffee table.
"Come on" she told him as she went upstairs with Lóng following her. Once she was far from the downstairs, the rangers had gotten out of their hiding spots, climbing upstairs after them.
They reached the top, and Renée got surprised. "Wait. The door's open" she pointed out, seeing it wide open. Her son moved in front of her to get a look, and he blinked in surprise. "That's odd. She had the door locked since you left" he told her.
The older brother spotted the mop leaning outside the wall. Which was also their weapon today. Lóng grabbed the mop incase Zuna was still against cleaning up, and catiously approached the room.
"Hiyah!" He yelled, jumping in front of the entrance, expecting Zuna to unleash her colorful attack.
"Huh? Um mama" he said dumbfounded at what he saw. Renée took a look, and had the same reaction. The Wild Rangers poked their heads from outside the room, wanting to take a look too.
Zuna had actually cleaned her room. Compared to what it was before, all her clothes were folded away, and put back inside her closet which was now closed. All her water blasters, and nerf guns along either any other toys were in a basket instead of a large pile. Right now, she was trying to lift her mini-fridge to make it sit upright, but it was bit heavy for her.
Renée smiled at her. While she was surprised to find her wild child actually cleaning for once, she was proud of her. "Wow Zuna. You really cleaned your room. I thought this day would never come" her mom commented as she walked over to her.
Zuna grunted, struggling to lift the mini fridge. "I got you Dumpling" Renée told her, lending a hand, and pushing it straight up. Once they got it standing, she noticed her daughter had juice, and paint splats on her face, helmet, and clothes.
She chuckled at her, wiping a smudge off her cheek with her thumb. Zuna just smiled big at her. "Although I see you couldn't resist fighting back before you were finally convinced" she teased her, putting a hand on her hip. Unaware that there WAS a fight earlier.
"Well something like that. I guess fighting got a bit messy, and I didn't like it anymore" Zuna told her as her mom took the helmet off. Truth was, the battle earlier from Shanjiâ had made her feel less likely to keep the room messy.
"Lóng helped in the cleaning too. We even cleaned the kitchen, and living room" Zuna brought up, glancing at her brother. Lóng smiled at her. "Oh. Well that's good. I think you two deserve a reward. I brought you both some food from the restaurant along with some dessert' She told them, which excited both siblings.
"But first you two need to shower" she told them, rubbing Zuna's paint covered hair. Her kids smiled at her sheepishly as she smirked at them. "Go clean up, and come downstairs for dinner" she told them, turning around and leaving the room.
Once she went downstairs, the Wild Rangers snuck inside the bedroom. "Wow. I can't believe you actually cleaned your room, Z" Tyge said surprised, leaping up onto the bed.
"I wonder what convinced her" Horus added curious. "After having that big mess from Shanjiâ, I just felt like cleaning" she explained to them. "I gotta say, I'm proud of ya baby bear" Honey told her, pleased with the girl.
"Yeah. For a moment, I thought you didn't do it. Proud of ya sis" Lóng told her proudly, rubbing her head. Zuna smiled big at her brother, putting her thumbs up.
"Actually come to think of it. Zuna was the one who caught Shanjiâ sneaking near the house. And came up with a way to take down that pangolin. Without magic powers" he brought up, turning to the rangers with his hands crossed, glaring at them firmly.
Zuna progressed what he was saying and figured out what he was talking about. "That's right. Earlier, you guys said that we're easy to take out. That we're just an easy catch" she brought up, mimicking her brother's position.
The Wild Rangers looked at eachother, feeling bad about what they said earlier. Not to mention that rangers fell for a trap and their friends nearly got caught.
Lapara decided to break the silence. "It looks like we underestimated our friends. All because of their lack of magic powers. But they proved us wrong when Shanjiâ came and tried to capture them" she explained to them.
Horus nodded in agreement with his wings crossed. "Agreed. They had shown that they can protect themselves just fine and defend their home very well against a shadow ranger" he said with respect. His friends looked at him surprised.
"Wow. Coming from you Horus, that's rare" Tyge commented surprise. "Tyge" Honey said to him firmly. The white tiger found everyone looking at him. He was the one who doubted the siblings earlier this morning.
"Sigh. Ok ok. I was wrong. With or without magic, you two can look out for yourselves pretty well" he admitted to them a bit annoyed that he had to accept defeat.
But still, he smiled at the two, glad to see them ok and that they proved to be good fighters.
"Lóng! Zuna! Did you two clean up yet?" The rangers and siblings heard Renée calling them. "Not yet mama. We'll do it now!" Lóng called out to her. The siblings couldn't any longer otherwise their mom might come up here herself.
"We gotta go wash up. You four stay up here" Lóng told them firmly. "I'll make sure to save some food for you guys" Zuna told them eagerly, scooping all four in a big hug.
"We do have to go report to Iceberg about what happen today. But we'll return once we finish" Horus informed her as she let go of them and the siblings left the room so they can clean up.
Tyge jumped down the bed, which got his friends curious. "Tyge where you going?" Lapara asked him. The white tiger was planning to follow the siblings downstairs to get a bite of the food.
But he paused and thought about it. He would risk getting himself caught and exposed. Plus, Zuna said she would bring the food to them later.
He turned to his teammates, smiling. "Come on. Let's go report to the commander" he told them as he made his way to the teleporter. His teammates were surprised by his behavior. They expected him to go off recklessly once again.
"Huh. For once you and I agree Tyge" Horus commented surprised. The white tiger turned to him surprised. It looks like that sometimes they can get along.
"First one there is slow poke" he told Horus and stuck his tongue before disappearing into the portal. Horus shook his head at him, sighing at him.
"Come on" Honey told them, motioning to the portal and the three entered the portal to report to the commander.
