{Ch.6~Home}
Finally, we're here, we're home. Well, my home...okay technically it's my granny's home, but you all know what I'm talking about.
After eleven hours of driving from that hotel we've finally made it to my grandma's place at some ridiculous hour. All I know is that my grandma had stayed up all day and night for us to come, she's the sweetest. She was excited when she saw all of us, giving hugs and kisses all around. Sadly, we had to crash because we've just driven for eleven hours and I'm pretty sure I was malnourished.
My mom took the guest bedroom and Richie and I took my room in the attic. My parents had me while they were still in Highschool, seniors to be exact. They lived with my granny and this was the room I grew up in, I've been in it from the day I was born until I was seven. My parents eventually got a place of their own but I came over my grandma's religiously.
Now it was morning, yeah, I was up that early. My mom and I were helping with breakfast while Richie snores away in my bed with his pajamas twisted about and my blankets on the floor. He always kicks the covers off.
Afterwards I was gonna go out to our field and check up on our vegetables and such. I was gonna try and see if I could get Richie on an ATV or maybe a four wheeler, but then again, it is Richie, he might break something.
But right now, I had to do tasks, like work on the house, take out the trash, that sort of thing; that's what I've been doing, I haven't even gotten all of our bags out the cars. I've been sweeping, wiping down the coffee table, and washing dishes all morning. I could've stay at home and worked for all of this.
Soon enough noon Richie got up and ate like the pig he was, scarfing down his food before going back upstairs to shower and get changed for the day. After a bit of lounging around I looked at the time and that school should be letting out and I still haven't brought our stuff in. I'd have trouble getting in bags of the suitcases we didn't bring in, we only really had our duffel bag.
I slipped off of my boyfriend and outside into the cooler air of the seasons. I struggled with all of the bags and eventually dropped one muttering a 'dammit' under my breath before a hand grabbed onto the handle of the black suitcase.
I looked up and expected to see Richie but my smile dropped and a gasp replaced it, "You're here?" He nodded as if to say 'why wouldn't I be'?
"Yeah, your granny thought you might need some help today." I loosened up a it and smiled at the boy with chestnut hat and chocolate eyes, they almost looked golden in the light.
"Yeah, well, only if you don't slow me down," I said trudging back to the porch. I sat down the bags on the first step and stopped to talk, "I have an audience to entertain." I said.
"You look to be slowing yourself down, don't need my help." He said, I glared at the boy, ugh, why is it me he pesters?
I groaned loudly before he reached out and twirled me around a bit causing me to scream loudly out of surprise. He simply laughed until you heard a voice boom so loud you'd think it was your heart jumping up your throat and then back to your stomach.
"What the fuck?" Richie boomed as he stepped out of the house. I've seen this look before, he had it painted on from that one Christmas where Eddie changed and things went wild. Eddie's be gone a while.
"Richie," I said separating myself from the boy, "hi, this is my friend." I said gesturing to the tall figure as my boyfriend made his way to me. Richie draped his arm around my back and into my back pocket, something he only did rarely when we were alone.
"Friend," I said placing one hand on Richie's back, rubbing it, and the other on his chest, patting it gently, "this is my boyfriend, Richie."
Richie stepped out and shook his hand strongly. They stood at the same height, though the boy was more build than Richie. Anyone who knows Richie also knows that when he hates someone he will make it verbal. I guess that bold 'what the fuck' was his way of 'Stop, I hate you'. This handshake, however, was something different, it was strong and menacing. Almost like it was a silent threat.
"Michael." He smiled at Richie, Rich just gave him this fake smile that looked poisonous.
"That's me— the boyfriend." Richie grinned but rolled his eyes as he drew his attention anywhere but to the scene in front of him.
"Wow, you got someone to put up with you, you haven't pushed him through a shed yet?" Michael asked rhetorically, bringing back an older memory.
"Don't bring that up, I was nine." I said pushing his chest back a little, Richie's attention was brought back to Earth and he grinned and laughed along with us like he tried to be apart of the group.
"What happened when you were nine?" He asked, I rolled my eyes at What was happening. Now we have to tell him the story, or rather Michael would since he beat me to it.
"She'd came over mine to hang out, and once we started wrestling in the backyard, she pushed me really hard and I fell through the wall of my shed." He laughed as he told the story of the incident. I rolled my eyes out of embarrassment and frowned a bit, pushing my hair behind my industrials.
I handed Richie some of our stuff and made my way up the steps with my boyfriend on my tail, " or maybe you just didn't have a very good shed." I said to him sassily as he calmed down. We left Michael outside as we put our bags in our rooms, then came back down as we heard a school bus stop in front of the house.
When I came back down Richie and I stood in the screen door and watched as my younger cousins started running to the house.
"Arri!" A chorus of childish screams and feet patting against the walkway and yard was heard.
"Oh god." I rolled my eyes jokingly at them this was gonna be a long trip. I said as I looked out the door a it and turned my head to see Michael on the ladder, working on the gutters.
A very long trip at home.
