"Does this make me look too fat?"  mom asked me for the fifth time.

I was on own my parent's bed in their room as she got ready. I've counted so far that she's change seven dresses saying each make her look fatter and she said and I quote 'like an ginormous whale'.

I was lying on my belly almost hanging off the side of the bed with my tongue sticking out. "Mommy, I told you look perfect, hot, amazing, magnificent."  I said lazily. I got up and looked at her, she pouted at me.

"Fine i'll get something for you, but don't you dare question my amazing fashion choice.

in the end I placed her in a gold strapless evening gown

"There.Perfect." I said fixing her hair, then moving away so she could look at herself.

"Aw thanks sweety."

It so happened to be unfair that i was going to be home alone.

My parents were off our their anniversary dinner, and knowing how things went almost every year, you don't see them back till the following evening.

Cara was at a sleepover with her friends while Luca was on an overnight tour to a museum and would be spending the following day at an amusement park.

I had finished making myself dinner and was on my computer watching parodies and call with my friends.

'I'm telling you Ron,Oliver asked Riley out!" Jody said for the third to to Ronica who didn't believe her that Oliver had asked me out.

"But it can't be i forbid it, i fully team Ralec!" Jody whined.

"What?" I asked turning my position on the bed to lie on my stomach.

"You know Alec and Riles, it's kinda weird Ailey it just doesn't have a ring to it." She said i could just imagine her shaking her head.

"And neither does Ralec-Guys i'm sick of telling you, there's nothing between Alec and I, i mean heck what do we even have it common that you guys see us together!" I said

"Uh, don't get me started, for one, you're both Hot,two very mischievous and troublesome, you're popular, people love you, you're both great at sports,you guys have little siblings, no offence to this one but both you guys birth parents past away, baby girl the list goes on and on."Ronnie said with sass.

"Yeah whatever."i said rolling my eyes but looking out the window. Alec's jeep was in the driveway so that told me that he was home, and home alone too because Elliot was with Luca.

i jumped back unto my bed and played with the chain that held the house key, that my father had placed around my neck.

yeah i'm that kinda kid, i lose stuff easily so my parents just practically either staples notes unto my clothes or like now, hang key's around my neck.

"Anyways-"Before i could continue every single light go shut off and so did my call, since i was on WiFi.

"No, no no ,no." Not now, i hated the dark.

why the hell is there even a block out? it's not like it's storming or anything.

what the hell, Riley get outta here!

without thinking further, i snapped into action jumping off my bed and screaming, i grabbed my IPhone which was now my only source of light.

You know dad, for a rich guy, you seriously didn't think about having a generator system just in case your teenager daughter is stuck at home alone and a block out comes.

I quickly ran down the stairs in nothing but by long sponge bob leggings and my yellow sweater and fluffy slippers.

i quickly came out the house and lock the door. in seconds i finished and sprinted across my yard into Alec's, the entire neighborhood was dark like the ones in a horror movie (i actually don't know, i don't watch horror)

when i reached his front door i furiously rapped on it.

"ALEC OPEN UP, ALEC, ALEC!!" I screamed frighten looking around every minute, my imagination going wild as i found myself beginning to see things.

"OPEN UP GODDAMN ALEC, IT'S RILEY, OPEN UP!" I shouted, seconds later a shirtless Alec opened the door with Wide eyes and ruffled hair.

without waiting for a invitation i pushed him in and locked the door. and breathed in relief from the fact that i wasn't alone in the dark anymore.

"W-what the hell Riley." His voice was hoarse giving another indication that he had just woken up.

"Did i wake you up?" i asked moving closer to him, his house was in darkness just like mines.

"Yes." he said looking at me eyes red from sleep.

"Good." i said jumping unto his coach.

He sighed and walked away.

i quickly stood up and followed him "Where are you going, you can't leave me in the dark." I said clinging to him.

he briefly looked at me before continuing to walk, the light from my phone helping me to see his every move.

"What, you scared of a little power outage?' he asked opening his pantry.

"Little?" i asked not holding hi anymore but i mad sure that at least one part of my body was touching him.

He didn't answer instead he pulled out some candles and a box of match and began lighting them. He soon proceeded to put place them in different parts of the living room.

i sat on the sofa just waiting him move above gracefully, the candles illuminating his figure making him look like a piece of art that was drawn ages ago.

"There you're not in the dark anymore. Goodnight." he said heading up the stairs

"Alec!" I shouted standing and running to him.

He looked at e with a tired and bored expression "Never took you for the kind of girl to be afraid of he dark." he said.

"Well now you know that i am,so....please don't leave me." I said gripping unto his arm.

I hated the fact that i seemed this vulnerable in front of him..anyone. but something about the dark scared the absolute shit out of me, i was okay being by myself.

He looked at me bored.

i knew he was still angry at me for the incident early with Oliver for some strange reason.

He sighed before walking around me and outing some of the candles leaving one, he picked it up and motion for me to follow him up the stairs.

i grinned a little before quickly running after him.

When we got to his room the only light source was the the candle that he was holding in his hand that sat in a small holder

He rest the candle unto his night stand and got unto the bed. 'Make yourself at hoe." he said before closing his eyes and putting his arm over his eyes." 

I looked around his room and sighed before getting on the bed with him as well.
