"I know why my brother hates me." 

I took my hat off of my head and stared at him.

He was just staring at me.

His eyes dull and lifeless.

I didn't push him to speak, but allowed him to take his time.

"My dad had always spoiled Hunter, there was no doubt that he was my dad's favorite. But that but spoiling him cause him to become, selfish and greedy. He always believed that when my dad died that all his wealth and his companies and all the things he owned would come to him, Hell, I thought so myself." Alec spoke his voice raspy.

"What are you trying to say Alec?" I said taking his hands.

Please don't tell me they were bankrupt.

"I turn eighteen next week Riley." He spoke.

I sighed. had he gone off topic again?

"Yes, I know that Alec, I've already bought your gift." I said making circles on the back of his hand with my thumbs.

He didn't say anything so i looked up at him.

"What?"

"You have?" He asked surprised.

"Yeah." I said looking at him sadly, his perfectly handsome face was covered in blood and bruises.

A small smile played on his face before he frowned.

"My parents left everything for me." Was all he said.

My eyes snapped to his widening "What?"

"I'm the rightful heir of Ragbeer Enterprise" He sighed "Hunter's adopted."

My grip on Alec's hand release as I stared at him with my mouth wide open.

"My parent's spoiled from since he was a kid because they knew he wasn't their own and never wanted him to feel left out, but that turned him into a monster. I'm guessing he had found that out that night that's why he's hated me ever since. But now that i'll be eighteen soon, His hatred has intensified." He spoke.

I found my mouth dry and I difficulty forming words.

"That's amazing Alec, you're taking it right?" He asked.

Alec nodded stiffly "Yes, and I'll be Elliot's legal guardian, I didn't deserve what Hunter did to me, I didn't even know." 

"How did you find out?"

Alec scowled "He beat the living daylight out of me, told me everything then beat me up some more." 

My blood was boiling.

It was coming I could feel it as I stared at my boots.

"Oh no you don't Riley." Alec said at me.

I ignored him

He placed his hand under my chin forcing me to look at him "I  know that look on your face Riley, and trust me you're gonna do absolutely nothing about it."

I frowned.

"Promise me." He said.

I frowned some more.

No one ever did something like this to my friend and got away with it.

"Promise me Riley, Promise me you'll stay out of it." He spoke loudly now.

I breathe loudly "BUT HE CAN'T JUST DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO YOU AND GET AWAY WITH IT!" 

"It is none of your business- and not like that ever stops you; but promise me you'll leave it be. I've already won even though I haven't fought back Riley, I got everything." he said.

i looked down at the floor.

He turned my head to him "I won, Promise me you'll leave it." He spoke softly staring into my eyes.

I frowned a little before sighing in defeat "Fine." not looking at him.

"Promise me, Promise me Riley." He spoke softly entwining our fingers.

I looked down at our entwined fingers "I promise." I whispered.

He took a moment before relying "You're not gonna let this go are you?"

I grinned up at him to find him looking at out entwined fingers before he slowly looked me in my eyes as i grinned at him "Nope."

"Figures."

"Ouch!" 

"Stop whining you big baby." I laughed.

I was sitting on Alec kitchen counter (because I was shorter as he stood between my legs as I cleaned his wounds.

"That really hurts you know." He pouted.

"It's antibiotics, it's supposed to hurt." I rolled my eyes applying some to his cheek.

"I don't get why I can't do it myself." He frowned as he tapped his fingers on my thighs squeezing them regularly when it started to burn.

"Because Alec, You're a wuss, and you're not gonna do it properly." I said as I moved to his lips.

"I'm not a wuss.you're the wuss" He mumbled under his breath.

He was definitely feeling and doing better.

"Heard that." I said rubbing it unto his red plump lips.

"Heard that." He mocked as he rolled his eyes.

I purposely rubbed a wound hard causing hi to cry out.

He pulled away holding his face "You did that on purpose!" He cried.

I rolled my eyes "You're scared, I'm nervous, but I guess that we did it on purpose. Yeah yeah we all know the song." I said before pulling him back between my legs.

"I'm beginning to think you like this position we're in too much." He smirked

Typical.

"I hate you." I deadpanned 

"Good. I hate you too." He replied.

Ouch that hurt for some strange reason.

"Well, Lovely. The feeling's mutual." I replied and we feel into silence as i cleaned his busted lip.

I don't know why. But i felt strange and hurt that he actually said he hated me back, but then again i probably shouldn't have said i hated him int he first place.

"Do you really mean it," He looked asked "That you hate me?"

I stopped what I was doing and looked up at him.

"Never. You're the best Alec and i'll never hate you." I spoke softly.

"I could never hate you either." He said looking back at me.

His eyes dropped from my eyes to my lips.

Oh wow.

I was looking at his lips now.

I wanted to kiss away his bruise,  I wanted to kiss away all his hurt and pain.

Our heads inched towards each other as we continued to stair at the other's lips.

I just really, really wanna kiss Alec.

"And that's why i'm gonna smack the shit out of Hunter." I said ruining the moment.

Alec's eyes widened for a moment before he cleared his throat and chuckled nervously " d-don't you even think about it." 

Wow, so he wasn't affected by what happened?

It was just me that felt the electricity, the pull between us like two magnets.

I pushed down my hurt and joked about it "Oh yes, and he'll never see it coming."

The same way I never saw my feeling for Alec coming.
