Long ago, there was once a beautiful and prosperous kingdom. It had been the embodiment of perfection, its elements existing as one in harmony; those who had lived there had all they needed to be happy with plenty of food and water in the air they breathed. The people of this land helped their neighbours without even having to ask. This glorious kingdom was the fruit of the majestic Goddess Hylia. Thus giving our Kingdom Hyrule its name and its people called Hylians.
There's an old legend told by many of our ancestors before us that Hylia had created three other deities to help build this land, and the legend goes like this:
"Before the beginning of time, before even life or spirit existed, three golden goddesses of light hailed down upon a cluster of chaos. Din, goddess of strength. Nayru, the goddess of wisdom and Farore, the Goddess of courage. Din, with his fiery arms, carved the floor and created the red earth. Nayru flooded the earth with their wisdom and brought order and law to this world. Farore, with their infinite soul, gave life to beings from order and law. The three goddesses, their work accomplished, returned to heaven. Their departure brought three golden triangles, the only vestiges of their power. Since then, sacred triangles symbolise the essence of our creation. And since that day, the Holy Kingdom has been the cradle of the triangles of justice."
What our legend calls the "triangles of justices" is also called the Triforce; the same legend tells that the three goddesses concealed the Triforce containing the power of the gods somewhere in Hyrule. This power makes it possible to fulfil the wish of the Triforce holder. If a pure-hearted man speaks this vow, Hyrule will know the golden age. But if an evil Man formulates the vow, the world will be swallowed up in the flames.
I'm sure you're wondering if this famous Triforce landed between good ones or if today we are engulfed in flames, right? Now, we've returned to another legend of my people, that of the Hero of our kingdom. Please don't be too disappointed; this one is my favourite!
This legend tells us of a hero who would save our kingdom from the hands of a vile character, seeking to seize the Triforce to enslave all beings to his own will and reduce the world to endless chaos. Legend has it that he was a young boy dressed in green and with unshakable courage; he would possess, buried deep in his heart, the triforce left by Farore, that of courage. He would have travelled in time to become stronger, fought many enemies and solved many puzzles to beat the vile character. But man also possessed a Triforce, that of the Force, which conferred powers almost impossible for a young man, even as determined as he may be. His name was Ganondorf, a man of a neighbouring people and deep ugliness. The young Hero, powerless, then joined forces with the last person to possess a Triforce to defeat the vile character and seal it forever. This last character is a princess of incredible beauty and wisdom, Princess Zelda, possessing the Triforce of Wisdom. Together, they managed to defeat Ganondorf and bring peace to Hyrule.
This legend has many variants, and every 1000 years, Ganon's entity would return to life and try again to take control of Hyrule, but a new hero and a new princess would prevent it. I love all its legends... They connect me a little more daily to my Kingdom, which is today... In ruins. But let's say this tale is a little different. No one ever could predict anything about a prince and princess, along with their hero trying to save Hyrule.
I am Prince Lucian of Hyrule...I don't know when I was or how old I am, probably around the same age I had almost lost my life, which was 17. My twin is Princess Zelda of Hyrule, and all I know right now is that she needs my help to finish what we started to save our kingdom once and for all.
