Chapter 21

It's almost 1 am and I am wired on coffee. I fixed the plotline a little so expect some more updates now that I know where I'm headed.

Enjoy~

Turns out that the training ring is exactly what it name says it is. It was a large ring with tall metal fences. I figured this out by the conversation the aliens have been holding for the past half an hour.

In front of me (about 20 feet away) Kaieke and his squad were speaking over plans and drawing on a tablet. I moved away after Kaieke said the ring was arriving tomorrow, but he had to send in any specifications or things to keep in mind.

"I know the standard ring to train Hagyras is 30 feet in diameter, but she is almost twice their size." Yri commented, tapping a beat away at his chin. "The obvious solution would be to double the ring size."

Kaieke glanced at me or specifically my back legs, before roughly sketching on the tablet. "I have seen what she was capable of." All the attention as on him. He elaborated. "Back in the lab she shattered crystal glass that was several inches thick." Various noises of surprise quietly sounded out. "That is not all. She has also managed to dent one of the exits to the outside."

They all, including me, blinked in surprise.

I had no idea i was that close to freedom.

"Surely you must be joking." Naruit said, stupefied.

"I assure you that I am not."

Varf and Yri looked over at me, awe shimmering in their eyes. I just tilted my head at them. Was I not suppose to not be able to damage whatever their doors were made of? ...Wait, that was a stupid question.

Varf seemed to nod to himself before he rose up his hand. "So the bars need to be strengthened and the foundation should need extra internal support." They all nodded along. Kaieke went back to the tablet. "...also maybe triple the size."

Kaieke nodded along and the others hummed in agreement.

I can already tell that I was not going to enjoy this.

And I stood corrected.

Because the next day I was lumbering out of the forest after a few hours of wandering, and there next to the house, was a large ring that was 90 feet in diameter. I could see Kaieke fiddling with something on one side of the gate with Varf standing close by.

I wasn't aware that Varf was here. I didn't even notice when he arrived and i vividly remember the exchanging goodbye's. I lowered my body closer to the ground as I felt my instincts stir with caution. It was strange to feel my thoughts fuzz over lightly after a week of mellow instincts.

I could feel my ears prick forwards as I neared the ring. I was only a foot away now. I stretched my neck out to lightly sniff at the bars. It smelled like normal metal. I tilted my head at it. An amused huff made me jump and whip my head to stare at Kaieke with as much disbelief as I could muster. Did he really just laugh at me for being cautious of an unknown inanimate object?

I'll drop kick you alien.

The tall alien only snorted at me and shook his head, then he dug into the pouch against his hip and showed me a Peanana I instantly perked. My tail and ears twitched in interest. Kaieke straightened and clicked his tongue. I blinked at him and walked over to him whilst he paced backwards.....right into the ring.

I stopped short from entering.

I had no idea what was waiting for me if I step into this ring. On the one hand, I know that I could trust Kaieke. He hasn't harmed me in anyway since I've met him. But on the other hand, I don't know why I was being 'tamed' by them. Kaieke obviously had a plan.

He crooned deep in his throat with a tilt of his head.

I swallowed hard. If I could teach him verbal responses in a few days without him doubting me, then I can trust him with whatever he plans to do. I took a deep breath that stuffed my lungs pleasantly and stepped in after him.

I walked slow and studied the large ring. I could very easily move around in places smaller than this, but they did not know that. I looked up at Kaieke when he whistled at me. He held out his hand with the treat and i only hesitated lightly before I stepped up to him for the treat.

Varf stationed him behind the gate after he closed it and watched us interact with a curious aura. Looks like he'll be sticking around then. "What exactly do you plan on teaching her?"

Kaieke absentmindedly patted at my fluffy neck and hummed in thought. "I've thought about it and I want to see if I can get her to understand me with hand gestures." Varf nodded. "She is also quite touch sensitive. Maybe I'll focus on that as well."

He was not wrong.

Varf nodded again. "Have you thought of a name for her?" He asked with a rub to his chin.

And now there is a rock in my stomach.

Kaieke blinked in surprise. "No, I have not, but I probably should."

Oh lord this won't end well.

"I will worry about that later, right now i want to see how willing she is to listen to me." I've been listening to you from day one. That's more than my mother managed so you can't complain my good sir.

Kaieke removed his hand from my neck and stepped back a few paces. I didn't moved and turned all my attention onto him. He seemed to nod to himself, before he faced his palm flat in front of me.

"Sit."

Immediately I felt my ears drop down. Really? Sit? Like I'm a dog or something. Wait I'm mostly part Wild dog- shut up brain. Thank you.

Kaieke whistled lowly to me and waved his palm down. "Sit." I just blinked at him and tilted my head in mock confusion with a flick of my tail. I heard Varf snort in amusement and Kaieke glared at him.

"You are really bad at this." The silver-eyed alien commented with a chuckle.

"Shush, I do not see you training a large and dangerous species capable of shattering crystal glass."

"It does not look like training to me." I could hear the smirk in his voice.

Kaieke huffed and rolled his eyes and tried to get me sit once more.

Oh boy this will be fun.

Stay safe lads ~
