It was hot. My body was aching and enclosed. I was curled up in what felt like a round box. The sides were smooth and it was hard to move.

I tried to open my eyes but it proved to be useless. I wanted to grunt but nothing came out. I pushed at one of the side and felt it cracked. I felt the feeling of determination bubble up inside of me.

I pushed again, but this time harder. I yelp, which actually came out from my mouth, when I suddenly fell from the box. I groaned as I felt my body ache.

I finally opened my eyes and slowly lifted my head. I ignored my bodies protests and looked behind me. I blinked when I saw that the 'box' was an egg. I looked down and saw white paws instead of hands.

I yelp and jumped up in shock. I groaned again and layed back down.

'Hey, take it easy.' A male voice said in my head. I immediately became alert and looked next to me.

Beside me in some bars, was what looked like a small German Shepherd, about the size of a bunny. He had a squirrel tail and the hind legs of a dark brown rabbit. His tail was the same dark brown with white underneath.

'Where am I? Who are you?  I thought back. My eyes narrowed when his ears pearked and his tail slightly lifted. I somehow knew he was impressed.

'I'm impressed that you spoke with me on your first try. Good job! My names Alex. Nice to meet you!'

'Oh um, ok, anyway where am I? And why do I look like...this...?' I asked and gestured to me.

Alex's head dropped onto his front paws. 'What happened to is the same that happened to us. We all used to human as well. But we were kidnapped and turned into what we call Kaydentsirds. We are a combination between a dog, squirrel, rabbit and a bit of bird.'

'Why?'

Alex sighed and rolled to his side and looked outside. 'The people here are working for the government. They want to use us to take over the other countries. You see we are made to fight and have very strong instincts. And due to those instincts they are having a hard time taming us. So now they research to see what thay could do to lower the instincts.'

I weakly layed my head down onto my front paws as I tried to process what Alex just said. I was turned into a very, very strange hybrid. I looked outside my cage and saw rows of more cages. I turned to Alex.

'How mamy of us are they?'

He turned to me. 'There's about 60 of us at the moment. 43 males and 17  females.'

I just nodded. He continued to give me a bit more information.

'We are usually hybrids between Wolves, Germam Shepherds, Huskys, Labradors, Sheepdogs and Wild dogs. The birds are Hawks and Falcons. The same squirrel, red squirrel, and the same rabbit.'

I nodded my head amd decided to try something. I gathered my thoughts and pushed it out all around me.

'Hello.'

I received a lot of hello's back from everyone in the room.

'Welcome to the Main mindlink.' A female voice called out to me.

'Thank you.'

' Remember to act like an animal so they don't expect anything. Usually a dog or squirrel works. Also listen to your instincts. We all have a plan to escape but we need more hybrids.' A strong male voice called into the link.

I sighed and nodded through the link. My body still ached whwn I moved but I ignored it and layed down. I soon fell asleep to the whispers of the mindlink.

I growled as a man in a white doctors jacket, unclipped my cage and slid it out of its slot. He gripped the underside before hauling it onto a metal table.

My cage, that had barely enough space for me to stretch out, was placed next to Alex. I looked at him in confusion.

"What are they doing?"

He glanced at me. "Once every week, the scientists let us out in a closed up clearing. About seven to twelve of us are put into one. They do this in hopes of us starting packs so they can learn more about us.,'
