My sensitive ears easily picked up the sound of the large metal doors down the hall opening and metal clad feet approaching the room I was in. I felt the hairs on my spine prick and rise as I kept my sharp eyes on the Kymari.
The humanoid alien walked up to a station close to my cage as he has done so many times before. He checked the screen thoroughly before moving on to the station across from it. This went on for around an hour, before he would pick up a strange tablet-like device and leave the room.
I took this chance to eat the meat in the bowl. I sighed as my legs almost buckled, but I quickly caught myself. I pulled my lips back in displeasure. Its been a few days since I've been brought here and in those few day I was mainly watched and studied. But my body was growing weak. I am quite surprised that I haven't collapsed yet, but I assume that the lack of extreme physical activity extended my calcium reserves.
I blew air out heavily from my long snout. I've been here for a little over a week and only now was I feeling the affects of lacking calcium. My tail and ears twitched when I heard the Kymari returned, but it barely registered.
A wave of dizziness hit me and I heavily teetered to the side and roughly fell onto the wall. Alarmed voices rose from the Kymari as they rushed towards my cage. Three entered my cage and I growled in a feeble attempt to keep them away.
They ignored my warning and I felt the prick of a needle on my flank. I quickly whipped my head around and snapped my fangs, barely grazing the arm that flinched out of the way. I snarled with all my willpower before my shaking limbs lost all support and sent me to the ground. Colours and sounds blended together and scents vanished with the wind.
I didn't prosses the hands on my body or the large moveable table I was paced on. I rapidly blinked my eye to make some sense of what was going on but my brain seemed to have left through the backdoor.
It wasn't long before I was moved and gently lowered onto another surface. It was smooth and cozily warm. I couldn't help but purr lightly before a whirring fibration caught my bubble blocked ears. It came from right above me but my juggled mind didn't make any sense of it.
I heard barely recognizable words spew quickly but professionally from an old sounding voice. A few other voices chipped in, but the only audible words were so broken I couldn't make a rats behind of what they meant.
"....lacki-"
"we nee-..."
"-n it!"
I groaned in relief when the noises stopped. I don't know how long I was lightly strapped onto that warm surface, but I could feel the dizziness disappearing and the noise and colour becoming independent again. I lazily blinked when I heard a door open and something loosen the straps.
My body tensed and I sprung up and tackled the offending hands close to my back. I found myself staring at the dark eyes of a Kymari.
"Zenol."
A snarl ripped through my throat. My eyes flicked to the other Kymari close by. They were all standing stock still with forcibly relaxed muscles. The one who spoke calmly met my eyes. I blew out a heavy puff of air and growled at him. He tensed slightly and looked away. For some reason that action pleased me.
I turned my eyes back to the Kymari beneath me. Somewhere in the back of my mind my human side was screaming at me to let him go and not dig a bigger hole, but my instincts overpowered that when I knew they were the ones who strapped me down. I did not like to be contained!
"Zenol." The man said calmly. I looked at him and looked away when he did not meet my eyes. "I need you to make eye contact with her, but look away when she threatens you."
The Kymari beneath me hesitated, before he looked me in the eyes. An involuntary growl escape my throat and the alien quickly averted his eyes.
"Again, Zenol."
He looked me in the eyes again. I growled lowly and lightly dug my claws into his shoulders. He looked away and, surprisingly, I felt my instinct back off when it recognized the signs of submission.
"Now show her your throat."
Zenol hesitated before he slowly titled his head back and showed his clothed esophagus. I bent down and sniffed at him, before I blew air into his face and backed off of him. When I was a few feet away he stood up and back away to another Kymari who checked him over.
My legs trembled when the adrenaline started to fade. I dropped to the ground and lowered my head to the floor. I growled to the best of my ability when the Kymari shuffled closer. They quickly took the hint and left the room.
I watched worriedly as the door closed behind them.
If the lack of calcium didn't kill me, they definitely will.
